Heritage Heights Academy (HHA) has been a blessing for our family. We have 2 children enrolled in the school and they are both thriving under the tutelage of the school. HHA proudly asserts that it teaches with a classical, core-knowledge based curriculum and delivers on that promise.

The breadth of academic coverage is impressive and rigorous, including: Latin, math, history, science, art, music, handwriting, spelling, phonograms (instead of sight words), and a heavy emphasis on the importance of reading. Not only are these subjects covered, but they are also interwoven into each other. For example, when one of our kids was covering ancient Rome for a few weeks in the classroom, the supplemental subjects of music and art would discuss Roman aspects of those individual areas as well, which reinforces the subject and makes it more comprehensive and tangible for the kids.

Additionally, transparency is incredible at HHA. Daily lesson plans are available to view on their website, showing what subjects are covered each hour of the day, as well as key points that will be discussed. Teachers are thorough and consistent with their communication to the parent and grades are routinely updated, which allows us to track progress and identify areas where the kids may need assistance.

HHA is exceptional and we would recommend them, without any reservations, to anyone looking for a quality school.

From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew HHA is special. It truly feels like a supportive community built around the success of every child.
We have had a super negative experience in one of our neighborhood schools and had lots of things to compare.
HHA stood out! The Principal was attentive to our needs and school helped to place my child with a teacher who helped him to recover and actually like school. In one school year the kid changed completely and was actively engaged during lessons , tried to do his best and actually eager to succeed.
The culture here is incredible, and it all starts with the staff. We have consistently been impressed by how friendly and approachable every person isfrom the front office to the classroom. They are genuinely always ready to help, answer questions, and partner with us on our child's journey. It takes the stress out of school communication, knowing the staff is so invested.
We feel so fortunate to be a part of the HHA family. If you are looking for a place where your child will be challenged, cherished, and supported by a dedicated team, this is the school for you. We recommend it without hesitation!

My overall experience with HHA school has been great. The best part is the supportive teachers and the positive learning environment. HHA teachers always make learning enjoyable and help students reach their goals. They always ensure that every student receives a valuable learning opportunity. I also appreciated the clear communication and quick responses from the school and teachers. Safe school environment.

The school community is friendly and welcoming. Students and staff treat each other with respect, and there is strong teamwork and school spirit.

In the classroom, the environment is engaging and focused on learning. Teachers make lessons interesting and encourage participation from every student. Teachers keep parents informed about what's happening in the classroom, which helps everyone stay involved and connected. The school arranges fun activities for students, and they encourage parents to get involved in the activities.

It took me three years to get my child into this school, and it was truly worth the wait.

This school has been an absolute let down. They need to replace all staff and administrators to ever be successful. They need to start with the principal and cut from there. The vice principal does the principals job, they have deans which is a huge waste of money. The dean in particular is on a power trip to feel important. The teachers are bullies and hate their jobs. The turnover rate is out of control. The teachers assistants minus ms. Garcia all need to go. They have zero class control and when you complain, they never make changes and make you seem like the problem. The music teacher needs to keep her hands off the children-she constantly abruptly moves them into places while putting her hands on them. Their enrollment is very sneaky and will discriminate against you. I feel like a lot of bad things go on behind these closed doors, which I will be in contact to have all of this looked over to protect the well being of the other children. This school will not last much longer with the current way things are going. I highly recommend any other school for your children. They even had to turn off google reviews since its that bad! Never have I seen that! Run from this school!

My kids have been at Heritage Heights Academy since kindergarten and are now in middle school.

This school is not the right fit for every family and expectations are high. There is emphasis is on academics vs. sports or technology. There is no public transportation and after-school activities are limited. You and your student should expect daily homework, accountability, "uniforms.", smaller classrooms, a longer school day, active parent engagement, and a place where your student will make friends for life.

However, if you seek a core-knowledge school with a diverse student body where your child will be well prepared for high school, and life in general, you'll be hard pressed to find a better school in the Cherry Creek School District.

The top administrator of this school is lazy and inept. She lacks integrity and a willingness to listen and follow through. It's well known that the staff doesn't respect her. It's surprising she still has employment at this school considering how many people I know they have problems with her specifically.
The school has potential. But a school will never make progress and retain amazing staff with her in charge.

This school is absolute trash my kid went to this school, and she has been hit was anxiety depression and etc. She does not want to go to school at all. The admin is terrible especially the now middle school and elementary dean and counselor who has made my child cry multiple times. they have favoritism and racism. Terrible. The fire the good teachers and rude ones stay.

My family is so very happy to be part of HHA.
Our daughter was accepted for kindergarten and is thriving academically and socially. She wakes up every day excited to go to school. She is confident in herself and loves her classmates, her teachers, and her schedule at HHA. This school has been so good for her. Shes already reading books by herself and I really appreciate that distractions and misbehavior in the classroom are not tolerated at this school. They keep the kids accountable for their actions and have clear classroom expectations. There are consequences for bad behavior and Im so happy to know my child is going to a school that focuses heavily on respect. Respect for themselves, their peers and their teachers. The kids still get to be kids and do have moments dedicated to play time during specials and other classroom breaks. So yes, it is academically rigorous but there is a great balance of play and school work. We could not be happier with this school of choice and will surely be enrolling our son when he starts kindergarten.

Horrible school. My 3 kids all attend the school, they all hate it. The school was marketed as a charter school where kids are all equal, learning is the priority, and bullying is absent. This couldn't be further from the truth, there is huge favoritism towards certain races and orientations, and injustice is prevalent. My kids hate the very idea of waking up in the morning to attend what can only be described as a prison. I thought my kids were just overexaggerating at first, but after scrutiny, I realized that the school was in fact a prison. Absurd, strict restrictions are placed on the kids, and those who choose to obey simple logic are ostracized and made fun of. Don't enroll your kids ever!

HHA stands as an exceptional school, known for its rigorous curriculum and the unwavering dedication of its students towards learning. In addition to academic subjects, the school emphasizes teaching cursive writing, values, and Constitutional Amendments rights. While some have mentioned the absence of extra-curricular activities, it's important to note that HHA does provide a range of educational and enjoyable after-school clubs. While there are no in-house sports programs, interested students can explore various sports opportunities through the CCSD school district. The school's primary focus remains on education, with an emphasis on discipline and structure, which proves to be a winning combination for student success. Furthermore, PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization) diligently organizes fun events throughout the year, fostering a vibrant and engaging school community. I am not a part of the PTSO, I do not work for the school and have no employed relatives or friends. My children have been attending this school since 2019 and I can't be happier with our school choice.

HHA breaks your child's spirit. It fails to be consistent in discipline of all students. HHA changes policies in their handbook without notifying the parents. They do not support extracurricular activities; they now punish kids for having them. Their policies did state games would be considered excused absences, however they changed it to say district sponsored games. Since these are now unexcused absences, children automatically only get 80% of their tests/homework/assignments and an F (zero points) on daily participation points, thus punishing the kids for doing things other than school. Excessive homework is given to children. Staff turnover rate is extreme. IEPs werent followed for the first half of this school year. Parents arent allowed to go in after school to have quick and needed conversations with teachers. Overall, HHA doesnt want kids to be kids, they just want them to sit down, shut up and have high test scores.

My kids loved HHA, they well challenged according to their progress and they always seen by their teachers.
Every semester I gets a true picture about their development and what they need to be more focused on.
All my concerns met with all respect and understanding.
I couldnt be more happy with any other school.

I took a tour and so wanted to like this school due to it being a charter school and classical academy however decided this school is not a good fit for my child entering kindergarten. On the tour there were several red flags. 1. During the 1 hour tour I did not see one teacher teaching. They were outside of the classroom or ALL children were on a laptop spanning the entire school and several grade levels I saw this. It was also very quiet with all the screen time and little to no interaction between students. 2. The library had no books. I was told this was due to covid and a delay in receiving bookshelves. The school has been open for how many years? How are there not even makeshift bookshelves in spring semester? The children had gone all year without a library. 3. The campus was redesigned after purchasing it from a church. The outside is mainly parking lot. There is quite literally not a field with grass for children to run or play soccer. Outdoor play and sports activities is essential and I believe the design neglects this especially for a campus that goes through middle school with just a large jungle gym/playground. I appreciate that they teach latin but how is there not a space for my child to run and get energy out? 4. A student was leading the tour. It was during finals and I learned that she missed an exam she had to make it up to give this tour. Children should not be volunteering or working at the expense of their education. I heard the leader tell the child she could have not given the tour that day but still.... all of this amounted to me not feeling comfortable sending my child there.

This school believes appropriation is acceptable and continues to allow dress up in " Native American costumes". We are in 2022 why are we still having to to tell people this is wrong. Dressing up in some other culture as a costume is disrespectful and a mockery of their history and who they are. Yes I went to the teacher, dean of Culture and Principal. They have done nothing to correct this issue. This school is complacent with racism.

Teachers promote racial inequality and discrimination. One teacher in particular bans all religious/nationally known holidays except 1. Her choice to exclude so many and celebrate her own, is discriminatory and the school board allows this. I've been in communication but only to be told to file more paperwork to stop this injustice.

My daughter was struggling and failing in traditional middle school. At HHA, she was actually seen by her teachers, instead of just a butt in a seat. The small class sizes and passionate, involved teachers made a crucial difference for my child. She went from failing everything to a straight A student. I only wish they had a high school division.
