I was a little skeptical at 1st but this school has been such a blessing and so different than anything I have ever experienced. The staff is AMAZING. When other schools wrote my kid off and gave up on him these guys picked up the mess and said ok yeah you took some wrong turns, but that's ok, let's see what we can do to turn it around and get back on track. The environment and culture they have created at 5280 is so positive, and just incredibly refreshing. They go above and beyond and really care. My son felt like a failure and I didn't think he would ever graduate. 5280 has made him believe in himself and shown him that if he does the work that with the support and community around him he can be successful. The school chooses its battles instead of turning every little thing into an issue. They have realistic expextations, arent afraid to call them out and hold them accountable and are more than just teachers. My son is learning life skills and coping strategies, and learning in a way that keeps him engaged and he has acquired an amazing group of friends and is developing healthy relationships that arent superficial. i am excited to watch him thrive over the next few years. If it weren't for 5280 highschool and the full circle program my son would have given up on himself, beleived he was a bad seed like his last school insinuated and his future would be a different story. If your child is not the typical student, and they are more of a difficult kid, give them a year at 5280 and just see for yourself how the traits many call problems can be transformed into strengths. What this school has created is seriously unlike anything and more schools should consider the approach that 5280 has. They care about the students mental, emotional, social, physical well being not just your test scores and standard education.
