If your child is special needs record evreything. The staff is two faced and will flat out lie to the parents and cps. Just saying you can never be to careful with this place. It is a shame because it should be about a child's well being and quality of life, not lies and assumptions

I hate this school its unsafe they pass vapes and the teacher are very good but over all all off the other things are trash and fights and bullying in recess every day choir is chaos water spraying chairs being thrown and no class participation.

My daughter currently goes to this school and this has been the worst school year ever for her! Kids are racist and disrespectful. Drugs and vapes are everywhere, kids are actually passing them around the school. A lot of kids talking about suicide. The administration doesn't discipline the kids how they should. You can never get in touch with the principal, they will always have the counselors call parents. I will be changing my daughter's school next year.

The teachers at this school are amazing! They really try to go above and beyond to get the kids involved and engaged. However the lack of accountability by admin is a true safety concern. There are regular fights and the administration does not hold children accountable for theft, bullying, harassment. Administration also takes place in retaliation on students and refuses to acknowledge their actions. They also take part is serious victim blaming. And withheld mental health services from a child that was being harassed and bullied. I would take your kid as far away as possible. Even if the school is warned about the fight before it happens they allow it and call it social medial challenges. They turn their backs on students who need them the most. The students are allowed to play sports after admitting to harassing and bullying students where they attack students from other schools! This place is NOT safe.
But the teachers are amazing.

Working at Mrachek has been a joy. The staff are supportive and love both their students and content. Leadership is phenomenal. The level of emotional intelligence is better than any leadership team I've had before.

I'm saddened by some of parent reviews. I've worked in a few public schools. The nature of serving the public is that it is complex. We have to respect each student's and family's privacy. This means sometimes it is hard to "get to the bottom" of incidents. If a child is acting out in the classroom, they are probably experiencing some difficulties in other spaces as well.

Again, Mrachek has been a great place to work. Families are supportive, we have fun, and we learn a ton.

I was a substitute teacher at this school. The teachers are hard-working; but the kids are very disrespectful. Substitute teachers get no support from the administration; for instance, kids in my class were swearing at each other and flipping each other off, and I called for help from the front office, and the administrator who came to my classroom said to me, "This is your problem; you need to manage this." Um,...how? What are my options? I'm a substitute. It was very discouraging.

This school sucks. There are fights everyday, drama, drugs passed around the school, kids so disrespectful it gets others distracted and I can't barely learn anything's with these students. I also have two teachers in my schedule that I believe quit or got fired. The school is actually pretty nice, the teachers are good (the ones who actually teach which would be most at least), food is okay, it's just the children there. They break the computers and it feels as if there are about only ten computers on each class for thirty students. Kids here talk with their friends, watch phones, bully, etc. all most all classes. I've been trying to change my schedule, especially to a schedule where I am able to have a better learning environment as a GT student, but it seems as if the counselor doesn't care. Anyways, overall, don't go to this school. Your child is not safe. Your child will not learn. Trust me.

This is a horrible school. My child found baby roaches in their school lunch. And once my child even came home crying after the teacher hit them with a giant wooden ruler in the head. And my child gets severly bullied at school and my child told the principle about it but the princioal just said "I dont care" straigh to my childs face. Not even a "i will look into it." Horrible school, hope the school sets on fire.

I went to this school and I would always see flights it could be the morning, it could be in middle of class or even be passing period and the worst is lunch because teachers we barely be stopping the fights they just let it be. And one student got wild because they lost the phone and they couldnt find it so the student knock at a door and bit one teacher and thank you God the teacher was brave enough to push out the student outside of the classroom.

The culture here is more than enough to prove what Ive been Saying for the last three years. No student has at home training or respect. Its a constant battle every day. Theres so many fights and things of that sort.
A little over a year ago, I was posted on one of the Instagram pages this school has, mms_fattest.
I had to ask my parents to help take it down. I was angry, i couldnt speak, i was in a state of panic, I was upset.
The next time I walked into a class the kids were stupid enough to continue to take photos of me.
The school didnt do Anything except for search the phone. They swore that they had serious measures they would take.
None of them were taken. I never was properly forgiven.

21-22 was the worst year so far. Many teachers resigned from the school because of how bad it got.

All I wanted for the past three years was respect. I never did anything to anyone. I never hurt anyone. I stayed in my lane, I stayed with my friends, I was nice.

I wish I got a little nice back. Instead, I was an idiot and let everyone walk over me. I blame myself for the harassment I go through.

My mental health has gone to nothing since being there. The summer was the only thing I ever looked forward to. It would be three months that I got away from it all.

I considered moving schools numerous times during my three years here. Ive reached out for help. Ive had over 30+ panic attacks in the last three school years either being there or even thinking of returning to the building. I found comfort in some of my teachers though. A lot of them are nice to me. They see me as an average human being. You know?
I remember this one time we had a sub, and we were doing our work, and it got really loud. There were over 40 students in that class.
I had to step out because of how loud it got. I was hyperventilating and panicking.
It was quiet in the hall. I was finally feeling fine, then all of a sudden everyone started screaming.
Someone had broken the sink.
Kids kept running out and in the room, they were loud, and i couldnt do anything.
Unluckily for me it was time to dismiss, and it got louder. Everyone was screaming, my breathing for heavierand I almost passed out.
I couldnt keep myself steady, my friend had to hold me up, I was in purgatory. At least thats what it felt like.
So overall, dont go here unless youre willing to live three years of your life in sacrifice.
Whatever you think of me, if you were in my shoes, youd see I wear the same size as you.

people, I do not recommend it at all, students treat immigrants very badly, I was bullied, I heard that my country was rubbish. I study there, but I'm trying to get out of there, because I, a Brazilian who left my country to have a better life, ended up with a worse life. The teachers are great, but I feel that the translation needs a little more attention in Portuguese, I DON'T SPEAK SPANISH.

My son is in his last year at Mrachek he has had a teacher cuss at him for no reason. He has witnessed a teacher pick up a chair and throw it at a student and may I say that the teacher still has her job there at Mrachek! There isnt a day that goes by that the Aurora police are at the school for fighting either between students and teachers or just between students and other students. Ive yet to actually see a principal there much less a vice principal. The two ladies in the front are about the only ones that are friendly and pleasant. Honestly if you can send your children to another middle school.

Im currently in my second year bear and its been absolute hell. Not to mention all of the fights and harassment has has been going on. I am a student who does orchestra and Ive had my violin hidden from me and even gotten out of tune because of how self centered students are here.

My son went here and finally just started high schoolTHANK GOD. Im a native to this area and Mracheck has NEVER been a good school. The reviews from former students that liked their experience is saddening and basically the point-in-case why you should find another school. Basic grammar and punctuation isnt taught, and basic human skills arent taught. The times I went as a chaperone for field trips was a JOKE. Youd be assigned 10 kids per parent so the teachers could get a break and disappear. The principal Michelle Davis is completely lackluster as a leader. My job is to accelerate learning for every student, every day. I do my job by building caring relationships with and among students, staff, and parents to create a safe, rigorous, and engaging learning environment. My community needs me to do my job... thats what she wrote about herself. It is a checklist of everything she is failing at. Especially at her doing her job. Heed my warningfind another school!!!!

This has been the worst year of my life, my tutor helps me with everything test or anything we do, and the teachers dont care about you do one even said I dont care what you do, u get paid no matter what and kids took that to their advantage. Our principal came and we everyone had detention even knowing that it was 7 kids acting up!! This school is outrageous and I wasted a year of my life here. Smh

Again the teachers are 100% supportive of the child, but they penalize a child with learning difference by not allowing them to have any classes of choice (music, technology, etc).

Overall, there are so many caring and passionate individuals working at this school, however, it is just each individual - I don't know if leadership brings them together. Going from elementary to this middle school is like night and day - you constantly hear kids being disrespectful, picking on other kids, and seeing them head the opposite way in the morning when dropping off your child.

The. teachers and faculty go above and beyond with their efforts to teach and ensure student saftey. Three children of mine have attended Mrachek, each one of them have demonstrated the positive impact their teachers have had on their education. Our oldest child graduates this month and he plans on teaching as a career. This idea was born through friendships he formed with teachers while attending Mrachek middle school. He has carried this over to highschool, and now on to college he goes!

My son is going to this school currently. I had attended many years ago and enjoyed the teachers and school alike. Thus far, my son really enjoys it and is being challenged at every level. I am sad to read the comments that have been posted and wish that there were more recent experiences posted with specific details. I feel that middle school is such a confusing and difficult time for everyone at that age. I would have been more confident in the ratings if they were posted by objective parents instead of young people with pliable opinions.
I think, given a chance and participation with the teachers, that this school is no different then any other school given what they have to work with. It is preached to go to another school, but what then? Let's leave an empty building? Those same problems will follow the same problem students to another school. Parents need do more than sit back and listen to their children complain. GET INVOLVED! Call, email, stop by and find out what is going on there at the school. Talk to the teachers. Go to the conferences. Attend the back to school nights. Join the PTA club. Nothing is going to change until we as parents in the community make the changes that we want to see. Until then, I happily send my 6th grader on to Mrachek and stay on top of his events, homework and after school clubs and activities. This is an ethnically balanced school. Let us make it a great school by supporting the staff, financially backing their requests and challenging our children to be BETTER citizens in our community. We are a comfortable middle class neighborhood. We can do better! They deserve the best!

Let me just say i hated this school with a passion. Everyday waking up knowing i had to go experience hell for 7 or so hours. The only thing i enjoyed was my friends. Teachers always look for ways to get you in trouble and have 0 tolerance for anything. If you attend this school you have a 99% chance of getting suspended or expelled. Middle schoolers act like middle schoolers so deal with it dont suspend them for something middleschoolers do.

I'm a former student and this school completely wrecked me for the time I was there. No one wants to be there, the students or the teachers. There's no welcoming aura anywhere, and I even remember one of the teachers telling students to not come to school since he didn't want to do any work. Another who I had a bond with begged my mother to enroll me somewhere else. That students were like animals and that I deserved better. I remember all the horrible things I was succumbed to, even getting choked in the middle of a hallway and not a single staff member glancing at the scene. Substitutes broke down in tears during lunch, teachers swearing loudly to students and I even remember a newly hired teacher showing up one day and quitting the next. I found plastic in a sandwich and choked, weekly fighting and a student once went into a classroom wildly bleeding from cuts they induced on themselves in the bathroom smiling. This school traumatized me and I left soon as I could. In my new school substitutes and teachers wince at the thought of this school. Please, parents, don't torture your kids through this. This school messed me up to a point I still have to go to therapy bi-weekly.

Mrachek Middle school was one of the worst schools' I've ever attended. I'm a former student at Mrachek and now a Sophomore at Rangeview, and let me just say that Mrachek Middle school is a nightmare. The staff there would rather be dead than teaching immature adolescents, and get angry for every action that the students do. In addition to having low tolerance they're also rude and get mad at you for making mistakes. I received attitude from Mrs. Fecko for entering in the wrong door, with her asking me if I knew how to read. My 6th grade year was horrible, as my science teacher Mr. English was scary mean and constantly threatened and berated us and treated us like dirt. I came home crying because they mistreated us so many times. The students there were rude so they wouldn't be messed with, and there were fights all of the time. So many students had attitudes and interrupted other students educations because they didn't want to learn. Students would get bullied & nothing would be done, that's why students kill themselves. The school always blames everything on the students, 7 they don't make school a safe comfortable environment. The school didn't take responsibility for anything.

WORST School ever it's really old smells bad has bad food and most of the staff will get mad at you for doing pretty much anything even though it's not bad there's weekly fights and there's a lot of terrorizing people there lockers are hard to get to and when you walk through the hallways you get pushed all the time people there aren't normal alright if I got to switch schools I would so I would not recommend Going to Mrachek middle school.I've seen people making out in the hallways and the teachers there don't do anything about that. Our principal didn't even cancel school when it was below 10 Celsius so we had to wake up and get dressed in that weather.

I attended Mrachek 13 years ago. The teachers were amazing. The staff was friendly. All the problems I remember experiencing were due to super low budget. Desks were really, really, old and the place always smelled like wet socks and old food. Books were old, equipment was old, and it was an old building with no windows. Yeah, none. I have been there recently for work a few times and it saddens me how little is different and how little investment has been made in improving the school. They put in windows (thank God) but that's about it. Stuff that was old when I was there was still there. New coat of paint, new carpets, windows, and the same old crappy desks and broken down gym equipment that was there 13 years ago. And from what here the curriculum is suffering too. This is sad. It seems like this whole district. I wouldn't want my kid to go to the schools I did. Not because they weren't good, but because they aren't good now.

HORRIBLE!!! We moved here a few months ago and unfortunately couldn't get my child into a different school. She was in honor classes at her last school and since coming here she has gone downhill with her 'grades' and her attitude! I hear weekly about fights and caught her using offensive language. This is a toxic school and something needs to be done!

As a student I want to say I really don't like this school. I used to be a straight A student till I went to this school. The teacher are very unorganized and are constantly losing our work. Another problem is that there are fights almost everyday and the staff does nothing to prevent it. Another problem is that if you have a problem at the school and you fill a statement about little to none help comes, the principal is pretty much invisible to every problem. The only positive thing I can say about the school is that not all the teacher give up on the students for example Mrs.Rahn, Mr.Muller, and Mr.Emmer are probably one of the only reasons why I stay at the school. If they weren't there I would be done with this school.

This school is AWFUL and my child is suffering there. She has excelled in all of her years of school until she attended Mrachek. The English teacher is from another country and can't speak English! Sadly, that may be the least of this school's problems. It is unreal!

This is the worst school my child has ever attended. The administration allows staff to be verbally abusive and condescending to the students and parents. The curriculum is biased towards low achievement and there is no positive energy for the students. My son went from being excited about school in all his other schools to begging me to let him stay home. The entire staff needs to be replaced.

My child is an 8th grader at this school and has had problems since he started there in 6th grade. I give this school a low grading because there has been nothing but problem after problem with my child and the students, and certain staff. One problem is that his academics are not as good as they could be due to children messing with him, and the children get away with it. Another problem is that whatever issues he has had to face with the children the staff were of little to no help on resolving the many issues. I have been to the school many times to try to help come up with a plan of action for my child to succeed, but all my child and I ever get is run-around by the staff; for example, he has had to fill out many statements concerning these issues but again none have been resolved. I understand that teachers may have many students in their classes, but for my child and I to be ignored throughout these years as I've tried to work out the kinks and he gets blamed for everything has left me today with unbelievable frustration. To sum it all up my child has been physically assaulted, his items have been stolen, and worst of all he has been verbally put down by a staff member here.
