DC prep is the best school that I have been involved on. The staff is amazing. They are very strict with their policies and structure. It works with teaching the children routines and dealing with real life issues and things that may arise.

This is my second year at DC Prep (one year at the Edgewood Elementary campus and currently at the Anacostia Elementary campus). I love the coaching I recieve to help me grow professionally. I also love the relationship our kiddos, staff, and families have with each other!

I am a teacher here! I so appreciate the support given to both students and teachers. It is a great environment for students to grow and learn and adults alike. I really enjoy and appreciate how quick students are to grasp concepts and apply learning.

My experience at this school feels like a family community. It is always a pleasure to enter into the building with music, and or an affirmation to a student or staff. They support our preppies with respect, and showing that we care about their well-being and education. I believe DC Prep has built a strong foundation when it comes to being family oriented with the parents and staff.

DC Prep lives up to " We do the work, We are Brave, We see the good, We aim high" . It is done across each grade band, Yes, I would recommend families to join this community.

Dc prep has a rigorous academic curriculum. Students have nightly homework. Only downside is that homework doesnt always match what they are learning in classroom.

Principal Desai is thoughtful and takes critiques on how the school can do better. She is open to hearing from parents and makes adjustments.

My son has been enrolled at dc prep Anacostia for 4 years. He has grown tremendously. I think it is an underrated school. The teachers and administration are highly invested in helping each child reach their potential. Here is where the problem lies- parents of kids. A significant cohort of parents who bring their negativity and attitudes to school everyday. Its sad thing to witness. The kids are the ones who are impacted and it is most frustrating thing about school. also lack of diversity is an issue but thats a larger issue across the city. All students lose when they dont have racial ethnic diversity. With all that said, dc prep is wonderful. Lots of positives. Always downside to every institution. Each parent she weigh factors that matter to them and visit.

First off, the teachers of first grade left with in the 3 weeks of school and havent been replaced. Most teacher dont have full degrees.

This school is absolutely the perfect fit for my preppie! My son is currently in PRE-K 3 and every day I am in awe of how much he has learned and retained thus far! It's feels rewarding to send your child to a school that has a dedicated administration that has my sons best interest at heart!
The Pros:
-2 Teachers in every classroom ( schools normally will just have 1 teacher and an aide )
-Small class sizes
-Weekly Homework (yes he's only 3, but it definitely helps to retain what was learned in class that day)

I wouldn't necessarily use the word "con" but they are a stickler for students arriving on time - "8 is late".
