This is our first year at Washington Global and my daughter is very happy with the school. I want to start by first saying that my daughter's class has not been quarantined all year and there have not been a lot of COVID cases in the school. I know the school put a lot of money and effort into health and safety and it shows and has paid off. For example, my child eats spaced apart from other students in her group and the school always has extra masks and keeps the facilities very clean. We were worried about her going to school during COVID and this has been a excellent experience. I also want to highlight how accessible the teachers and administration are. I can call and email and get a prompt response. The whole team is caring and I feel like my daughter is getting a great education here.

I was really nervous about my son transitioning to middle school but his experience at Washington Global has been great. He has an IEP and needs extra support. The teachers and special Ed director have been great and so responsive. Even though the school is virtual he participated in the after school clubs. He has also met his teachers for outdoor tutoring sessions. My son even made the honor roll for the first time!

My daughter started at Washington Global last school year as a 7th grade transfer. This school is such a breath of fresh air from her previous school where she struggled with students bullying her. She has not had one issue at this school. The teachers have been great and very responsive and the Dean and Principal are always there to help. I also love that she takes Spanish and Korean class.

The school is virtual this year because of COVID, but they made sure all of the students got a computer and internet hotspots before the school year started. They also had outdoor tutoring and individual tutoring , which was a great opportunity. We couldn’t be happier.

My overall experience has been nothing but great this year. My daughter has gotten a great education (even with moving into distance learning). Her teachers are phenomenal, and I love how I am able to speak with the leadership team! I've been extremely impressed with the quality of their distance learning program, and I love seeing how engaged my daughter is in her education.

My student's teachers are great about their homework. She comes home with homework at least 3 days a week, and I am able to keep track of her homework on the homework website that was created. Her teachers are available every day afterschool to help with any homework questions she has. It's been a great experience!

My daughter comes home so happy and so excited to tell me about her day. Her teachers are constantly reaching out with updates on the day, and I can see what they are doing in class on a daily basis (which is super helpful when she needs help with her homework).

Students are taught, from day 1, that they are expected to be kind, compassionate, respectful, and prepared. I also like the fact that these characteristics are on each floor, and in every classroom. My daughter also partakes in their mentoring program, which continues the growth on these types of characteristics.

I love the fact that the leadership team is still in place, 5 years since they opened. I am able to talk with the Principal or Head of School if I have any concerns, or if I have any recommendations to make the program better. They are always ready and willing to listen, and they genuinely care about my daughter and her education.

I love the fact that my daughter is in a small classroom setting, and that her classes are co-taught. Knowing that she has some challenges with math, it's wonderful to see that she gets one-on-one help from her teachers, and I'm able to get additional support for her afterschool with her teachers for tutoring.

The administration team is extremely student-focused, and anytime I have a concern, I can reach out to them. If my daughter comes home with a concern, I know I can speak to the administration team, or to the Dean of Students. She is a wonderful person to work with about any concerns my daughter or I have.

Horrible! As a formal ANC Commissioner the Washington Global public charter school has more fights than Jefferson middle school which is a D.C. public school. They need to let go of some corrupted teachers and staff members and add in hiring some Yale and Harvard and Georgetown University graduates to the team to help run that place if they want claim down this bullying and put some full order around there,no offense!

Almost alot of the students come out of school with fowl languages including perverted conversation.

They have favorites and are bias towards certain students. They condone bullying from the staff on down the list to some of the teachers to some of the security guards.

Shut this school down please! It is toxic for many businesses around it to be around haustle acting children, always fighting around the metro stations with a long history of this since 2016. Ask the Metro Transit police and the MPD. The students sometimes bullies because of a Dean women allowing it or other people who are suppose to prevent and stop these things.

A vast number of teachers are not experienced and not certified. The ELA Instructional Coach is very inexperienced.

Although the principle would be effective, the CEO, who clearly was not an effective teacher of record for any period of time, runs the school even though she is afraid of the students and they have no connection nor respect for her. The HR person and front office "manager" gossip all day with other members of the staff and are overall unprofessional towards the majority of students especially of those who are not related to the manager. They also interfere with daily instructional-related practices even though neither of them has teaching experience. The dean of culture gossips about students and faculty alike; she spends the majority of her time standing in the hall gossiping.

The school has, on purpose, accepted every disabled student they can find for monetary purposes; however, they do not have the infrastructure to support teachers with serving those students. Because of this, many students are struggling--both highly intelligent students (because the work is not substantive) and the disabled students (because they don't have the staff or the infrastructure to handle behavioral issue attributed to social-emotional deficits in children.

Very low. This school had potential at one point but the CEO keeps hiring skilled people with experience and not taking their advice and working as a team player to ensure students have the best experience possible.

An act of common courtesy led to my daughter being scratched on the arm by a male student, and it's only a couple weeks into the school year. The male student dropped the pencil on the floor, and when my daughter picked it up for him, he took it, told her not to touch his stuff, and scratched her on the arm with it. When she told the teacher about the incident, the teacher did nothing. Looks like I'll be finding another school for my daughter to attend.

This school has great teachers. I love the free extra curricular activities that give the kids things to do. My daughter enjoyed playing basketball this school year.
