I came to Fusion in the middle of 8th grade and during Covid. My anxiety was at an all time high and I felt like I didn't fit in anywhere, but Fusion made school less scary. The kids are so nice, the teachers are great, and the atmosphere of it is amazing. You can get a super personilized schooling, and get really into what you like. The courses are amazing, and they do a great job at balancing social life with work. Tuition is also customized for each student depending on the courses you take. It is a wonderful place to learn and I highly recommend it!

This school is perfect for students who could truly benefit from one-on-one connection from teachers. Here, the teachers are not only teachers--they are mentors as well who help to guide the kids as they approach academics at the same time as balancing their non-academic life experiences. It is a school that values inclusivity, acceptance, and respect, and teaches with that at the forefront.

I have never worked with such a compassionate and student-centered group of teachers. Our students come to Fusion because something about the traditional school system does not work for them, and our teachers make sure that those students- many of whom hate school- have a positive educational experience. When you walk down the hallways of our school, you hear laughter and high quality discussions. You see teachers creatively engaging students based on their interests and learning needs. If you want to work with educators who put students first or learn from teachers who center your ideas and needs, then Fusion DC would be a perfect fit.

homework cafe is weakly monitored and a child can easily fall behind and that is in their interest as they are incentivised to charge you extra for mastery sessions

The teachers are generally good and can navigate complicated situations well. That is about it though.

They only look out for revenue - so many parents complain of excessive mastery sessions!

I have found they take this as an opportunity to try to charge you more.

Buyer beware - this is a business and nothing about this place is authentically interested in the welfare of your child. This is a legitimate business that will take advantage of your child's needs (even if a disability) and charge up your credit card for unnecessary mastery sessions. Many families pay as many mastery sessions as the number of classes in the first place. You will notice not only high turnover with families but with teachers as well. There is little consistency with teachers from one semester to another and even worse consistency with the scheduling for your child. They will tell you others had the 9-3 slots and slate you for late afternoon classes until you complain for better. Even worse, administration is so poor, the might even forget to add classes to your child's transcript! They are that weak administratively and that unethical business-wise. Parents are not binding together, by design, as there are only limited occasions we even get a chance to connect. Parent beware of a school such as this without a PTA. Only now do I get the importance of a connected parent body. They will take advantage of your willing credit card. Watch out!
