The teachers don’t teach the kids anything they need to learn the school is money hungry and broke.the teachers are also sexist and the teachers use ai to grade the kids work.they don’t offer any programs for kids with special needs and the principals let the boys do whatever they want to.also they let this one boy spit on a girl and slap her but and they did nothing about it

This school is terrible the teacher are rude the 6th graders cuss to much and kids try to stab other kids with pencils and scissors

I love Cornerstone. My children love being there, and any parent who wants a
Christian education for their children, this is an awesome school. You can feel the love in this school-from the staff and children.
We now live in Virginia, and the thought of driving an hour 4times a day for 5 days so they can attend Cornerstone has crossed my mind many many times, which in my head is, " I can do it becuase I want the best for my children, and this school can and will provide it. No matter the distance I would have to travel.
Any one with a Christian background will appreciate this school and its staff. I can only speak for myself as a Christian parent.

The school and classes are small not to mention this is a Christian private school and there is always arguing, fighting, and bullying! The administration does not know how or handle the situation properly!

My child currently attends cornerstone. The school has went down tremendously she has been there since pre-k. I can't wait until this school year is over the school offers nothing. No foreign language, no computer classes, no art classes, and no before and after.The so-called music program is taught by the principal, who thinks learning a few songs and putting on a Christmas play is music. No unity in the school the classes do everything separately. The teachers are not certified. The classes are combined and the uniform checks are taken to far. The school is money hungry and the students who already attends can't come back until they apply for an osp scholarship. (The kids who live in dc). There really is no christian aspect at the school.

Our girls have been going to Cornerstone for years. What really stands out to me about Cornerstone is the consistency of quality teachers as our children have changed grades. They go above and beyond to instruct daily. I love that Christ is at the center of Cornerstone. My girls have become prayer warriors. On top of getting a great education in a safe enviornment, they're receiving Christ-like examples everyday which we are absolutely thrilled about. Every administrator/teacher/staff that have come into contact with our girls have been such a blessing. The before and after care program has improved every year. What would make this school even better is to find a way to make it more diverse and add more extra curricular activities. I would definitely recommend Cornerstone, as they communicate well with parents, execute an awesome curriculum, Christ centered, and safe.

Cornerstone Schools of Washington My Children attended this school for five years. This school have went way down, since the new Administration arrived in 2013. Most of the school's wonderful teacher's and administrator's from the past five years are gone. I felt truly blessed when God led my family there. Although money has always been a key element at this school, I believed it was worth every penny for the Christian education and care they were being given. For the most part, parents had an input in there children's well being there, not any more. The administrators make all delicious which are finalized by them. The children and parents deserve so much more, than what the school now offers. I wouldn't recommend this school to any one. I rate this school 1 star, for the teachers.

I have really been impressed with Cornerstone Schools. The school has gone through a lot of changes, but I my child has gotten a wonderful education there. The teachers and staff are very dedicated and highly skilled. Just after one week at school, my child began to demonstrate that they were learning so much. I had never seen my child so excited about learning! I am so thrilled to have my child return to Cornerstone next year. Even though my child is young, I plan to keep them there until they graduate, because all of their seniors graduate and get into the schools of their choice. The staff works hard to make sure every student succeeds and meets the highest standards for education. I highly recommend this school to everyone!

Cornerstone Schools of Washington has been an excellent source of education for my children from the time we arrived 8 years ago. My children & I have thrived on the wonderful chapel service held at the beginning of each day; I would schedule my work day around attending the school's chapel time. However the children arrived for school they would all come in to one common place during this chapel time and start class with uplifted spirits and open minds ready to learn. My children's teachers have poured not only curriculum information and educational values into my children but they have also shared the gospel, nurturing and correcting them in God's love. We found Cornerstone to be a safe place for learning. My children have enjoyed the various education field trips and fundraising events they ve attended on behalf of the school. I know that my children will have a competitive edge when they prepare for college because of the education they have received at cornerstone. I will always recommend parents to bring their children to Cornerstone so that they too can receive an excellent foundational education.

What I love about Cornerstone is the Christian love and kindness that is extended to my children who attend the school. The Head of School and the teachers are also concerned about the strength of their character and their academic success. Both of my children have excelled in the school and their Stanford 10 Achievement Test scores prove that they are being taught on a level that compares with national standards.

My granddaughter attended Cornerstone and she had a very good learning experience. The teachers were excellent and very caring. This was a transition year with a new principal and with changes always come complaints especially since the school is moving towards a more classical Christian philosophy. It takes some time for adjustments. Outside of homeschooling a classical Christian education is the best. There were some organizational issues this year, but nothing that can't be corrected. I think this year will be better because of the problems have been and are being dealt with. Cornerstone is a safe and positive place for your student and the staff is very committed.

I love Cornerstone because of the educational vision of the board. Over the years they have stuck to their vision of providing the best Christian and rigorous education to the youth of the metro DC area. They have a real passion to making sure every child, regardless of income does not miss out on their wonderful educational program. I had heard of Cornerstone before I even came to work there, so their reputation was major. Once I was given the opportunity to work there I was honored. The board works hard to uphold its standard for education. They regularly review the teachers, hold us accountable to the curriculum and if staff do not meet the expectation, they do not hesitate to correct that teacher or let them go. Although challenging sometimes, because the standard is so high, I have been blessed by my time there and I have grown so much as an educator. I plan to be there for many years to come.

High staff turn over and staff that's been there for years are leaving. Keep this school in prayer while they are going through the process but don't make it number one on your list. The principal did not keep information about my child that only she was privy to confidential.

My daughters have been attending Cornerstone for the past three years. The atmosphere is warm and loving. The teachers are always professional and very genuine. I often pop into the classroom and I have always been pleasantly surprised. My oldest daughter is reading now and has gained a stronger passion for math and science. My youngster daughter is also thriving and looks forward to going to school every day. I love that at 4 years old she is also learning to read, has memorized scripture from the Bible, and has become comfortable performing and speaking in front of larger groups. Cornerstone has a family-friendly attitude and they keep the bar raised as far as expectation of academic excellence. I look forward to watching my children continue to grow and be blessed as Cornerstone students.

I am delighted to be a part of the Cornerstone community. I am the parent of two Cornerstone students, as well as the First grade teacher. I have been at this school for four years and have witnessed many blessings bestowed upon us. I believe that we have the best parents and families in the DC area. Our parents are committed to providing their children with the skills, morals, and values needed to lead others. With Cornerstone's support I have witness my own sons growth academically and spiritually. I am humbled by the opportunity to fulfill His purpose for me here at Cornerstone, and more so that He has chosen my sons to be a part of what He is doing here.

My grandson started here at the age of 3 in Pre-K3. I was concerned about him being in a school environment because of his age; however, when he came to Cornerstone, I really loved the spiritual guidance that they have here for the children. The structure they have does not treat 3 year olds like day care. They are really learning. I have also noticed that they teach children what God wants them to be. At his age, it is difficult for a child to learn right from wrong, but that is a big focus for the teachers here. They learn how to treat each other and how to be kind to each other. I have been impressed with how quickly he has learned his ABCs and even some reading. Cornerstone provides a great start for children at an early age. They are taught the Word of the Bible from the start. Now when he goes to Sunday School, the pastor is impressed with what he knows and how he is obedient as a 3 year old. Cornerstone is a great education and a great spiritual foundation. I would recommend that anyone send their child here!

My nephew attends Cornerstone School. After a year there, his test scores are outstanding, he loves his teachers, loves to read, and loves to learn. After visiting the school multiple times during the school year and reading to my nephew's class, I am impressed with the dedicated teachers, the outstanding curriculum, and the commitment of the Administration to the students. The results speak for themselves. Check out the test scores and visit the school. I believe the prior reviewer must have an axe to grind or some other kind of agenda, as the the picture he/she painted is so far removed from our experience at this school.

I agree with this previous writer. This is my child last year attending this school. I will not recommend this school to anyone. I'm ashame to say my child even went to this school. They cover up the truth about this school using God. At first I did not want to speak out about this because I knew I was going to take my child out but it needs to be known. People that send money to this school needs to be aware of what's going on so they can know what they are putting their money into. I always look to see what kind of staff members my child will be surrounded by. I know for a fact some of the administrators not teachers credentials are not true. The head person has never taught so how is he able to run a school. Parents are pulling their kids out of this school left and right. I'm so out done and cannot wait until this school year ends. Their will be other parents that will speak out soon.

I have history with this school. My children have been here for about 4 years. For the previous years I would have given Cornerstone 4 or maybe even 5 stars but this year has shown me otherwise. While the school has chapel daily and they have bible classes in their curriculum, I am not seeing true christ-like behavior from every teacher/administrator. Though no one is perfect, we must be very careful when we label ourselves as a Christ-centered school and not behave as such. These teachers/administrators may be the only (christ-ian) that some of these children come into contact with. We lose our witness when we don't practice what we preach. Nevertheless, I receive emails from a couple of teachers weekly which is a plus. So far this year there is not a lot of homework coming home which is different from previous years. The before and aftercare is reasonably priced. The school building and grounds are well kept and secure.

I believe Conerstone is one of the greatest schools in Washington, D.C. area. My son have attended Cornerstone for three years. The things that I like about Cornerstone is the fact they teach GOD's WORD. Knowing GOD's WORD is the best tool you can give any child, any adult, or anything. I like that they have Chapel everyday. I like the small classes where my son can get the understanding he needs from his teacher. The teachers have shown much concern about his growth in academics. The teachers make themselves available when I have any concerns about my son. In addition, once your child become a student of Cornerstone you have entered a family environment.

I completely hate this school. My daughters teacher started out great but once life s circumstances changed so did she. She would encourage the students to stay home so she wouldn't have to be bothered by them. When my daughter came to this school she was above average when she left, she was behind. The curriculum they are using/ making up is not even up to par with DC Public School and this was private. The teacher's/ administrators worry so much about praying and chapel that they forget the kids are actually there to learn. Up until recently the schools secretary was also the accountant. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone
