My daughter came to WSG struggling with reading, she was below grade level. But with alot of help from her teachers and support staff she is reading at grade level and she now loves to read.

There is always a communication that goes out either folders or email about a bullying situation.

Posted: October 8, 2017

The teachers let the students let the students get the skills at school first then homework comes home once the child fully masters how to complete the assignments given.

Posted: October 8, 2017

The teachers are always available to communicate and truly care in how they talk to the girls.

You have to visit the School. The girls understand preservervance and all aspects of being a great person in life.

Many! Many! parents have addressed the same concerns over and over again with leadership and every time they pretend that it is there first time hearing it and never address it. For example spoiled mandated lunches. If the food has mold or your own teachers wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole than you need a new food vendor or the option for parents to provide lunch to their children.

There are many students that stay back every year. There are students that have learning disabilities and don't get the outside specialty attention another school would have to give them and there are some students that are gifted and are not being challenged enough and met where they are.

It is a mixed bag and you have to stay present at this school or you will be shocked at what really happens throughout a day.

The homework has been the same for two years straight. There are no science experiments, no projects, just reading logs and occasional math and religion homework.

There are some great teachers and there are some teachers that are not as well skilled at actually teaching all the different levels of behavioral and academic ranges one class can have. No certification is required for the teachers at this school.

Posted: August 9, 2017

Many students have behavioral issues and should be expelled but instead of kept to disrupt their classmates and impact the entire setting of the classroom.

Some great memories from this school. Teachers were good and the school canteen food used to be yummy. No real playground which hampers kids from really enjoying sporting activities.

Small class sizes and a diverse teaching staff make for a personal, well-rounded educational experience. I am proud to work at a progressive, hands-on school where everybody works together to ensure that each students receives the attention she needs.

Washington School for Girls is a great all Girls School in SE. DC. I am very pleased as a parent with the way that they go above and beyond to teach the girls values, character, and the blessing of education. Each student is nurtured as an individual with special care and consideration. My daughter graduated from WSG and has now moved on to National Cathedral School where she is learning many great things and has even had the opportunity to travel abroad. The graduate support program is awesome with their continual involvement with the families life long. I can reach out to the school at any time and they will assist my family. Sometimes as a parent with no how to do many things but we just can't do it all. Having WSG has been a support system and extension of my family.

WMSG is on the right track being a faith based school that tries to focus on character building but fail to have all of the needed components. The teachers may appear to care but most are very young and inexperienced with little to no supervision. School culture is not near its best. There are some documented challenges but the administration is in denial and refuse to examine paperwork, policies, and procedures to make improvements and provide appropriate oversight. Accountability is not practiced but the community should not be surprised because it has been all over the news how authority has been abused and administration stands by and allows it to continue. Let's become supporters to help make our school better.

I love this school!!! My daughter attended both schools. The teacher are very caring and understanding. The overseer is friendly and actively involved with the parents and students. I will and have recommended this school.
