We couldn't be happier with Milton. We had an incredible kindergarten experience there for our youngest child and were so impressed that we ended up switching two older siblings to the school the following year. We have been wholly impressed by all of the teachers and administrators. Our children are challenged academically and regularly come home telling us that school was 'fun.' Milton is truly a gem of a school. My only complaint is that we didn't start there sooner.

We are entering our seventh year as a Milton family and are proud to have a child in the second Middle School class. Milton is like "Cheers" (without the drinks!) -- everyone knows our kids' names, even teachers they have not had. Indeed, the concept of community at Milton is a real, core value, not a cliché. As an example, older students mentor younger ones in educational settings as well as social ones. And parents of various Judaic backgrounds all are valued and respected, not judged or expected to come to the school with a certain level of knowledge or observance. We have found the academics to be stimulating and innovative. We also greatly appreciated the faculty's proaction in identifying one of our children's early reading deficiency, and addressing it immediately with non-stigmatizing remedial help -- it paid nearly instant dividends. Finally, our children simply enjoy going to school every day -- the concept of "joyful learning" is truly palpable at Milton.

We have two children at Milton and couldn't be happier with our experience. The teachers and staff are warm, supportive and engaging and work to nurture each individual child, both academically and socially. In addition to academic excellence, there is a strong emphasis on building community, both for children and parents. As a family that has had a somewhat winding path to Judaism, we greatly value the spirit of inclusion as families of all types of background, make-up and religious practice are embraced. Our kids are thriving at Milton and the joy they feel about going to school each day and learning is palpable. We love this school!

I'm a current parent and absolutely love the JPDS/Milton community. The commitment to progressive education combined with the joyful way of teaching Jewish values and rituals has been a winning model!
As parents who grew up secular but growing in observance, Milton has been the perfect school to instill the right skills and attitudes in our children for Hebrew language acquisition, respect for and knowledge of Judaism. In a pluralistic Jewish environment, our kids have been taught to be both critical thinkers and spiritual leaders, while Milton's up-to-date pedagogical practices (eg: Milton has consistently won educational awards for it's first grade curriculum) keep us happy with the pace with which our children have mastered secular academic skills.

I have two children in the school--my eldest just started his 7th year. We are having a phenomenal experience--the teachers are skilled and loving, the environment positive and supportive. The curriculum is innovative and effective--these kids truly love engaging with ideas and have a zest for learning. They are also experiencing a beautiful, pluralistic, community-focused Judaism and developing Jewish literacy skills that will last them a lifetime.
