I am a parent of an 8th grade Academy student and I think this school would be great if there were more visible authority figures, more qualified and quality instructors, and the school day wasn't spent trying to keep children in order, the school year has been extended so when the kids have breaks they students who are not in intersession have skill retention activities so that they don't lose what they've learned, and their summers shouldn't be shortened because in my opinion it's not how long they spend in school but the quality of what they're learning and qualifications of the instructors to be able to reach these students.

Well, they've made a great impact this year from what I've seen because when they confiscated cellphones at the start of the school day and return them at dismissal, it seemed to quell a variety of problems that were prevalent in years past.

I'm not so sure of this question because my child does not have any differences.

In my opinion, there's maybe a handful of authority figures who seem very capable of leadership.

Some of them are somewhat effective, and some not so much.

I feel this way because there is not enough communication on the school's part, they ask you to download an app from Google and then they don't communicate very much from it. Initially they begin okay but as time goes on there's no feedback whatsoever, and reaching out via email there's no response there as well.

Hi I am a parent of a current 6th grader. I think the teachers are great. The structure has been well for the transition from elementary to middle school. As usual you have bullies and trouble makers identify and put on a merit system three strikes and your out. Way to many fights at the end of school. call in the red hat boys to keep down the fights.

This school is on the rise. I have had a great experience here. If you looks at most of the reviews they are pretty old. Since 2010 this school has improved greatly. It's a great choice if you live in Ward 7.

As a parent of a former student, I had a horrible experience with Kelly Miller. There was much chaos within the school, no communication from school to the home if they saw problems with the students. The best part about KMMS was the admissions/guidance counselor. She was excellent and helpful. It was downhill from there.
