This school in my opinion has its ups and downs but overall it WASNT that bad it could be the people and staff but the school not that bad i just don’t recommend it , there is fights alot of the time people picking with others and mistreatment by staff. I am a former 8th grader and Im writing by experience there was one teacher I valued and she treated me with love and never gave up on me she took her time to make sure I knew what we were learning about, and I love her for that , another thing lunch they don’t care if u eat or not THE STUFF THERE IS HORRIBLE no one would honestly want to eat that at all like me and another thing if u are to bring breakfast and u have a drink u are forced to drink it there or throw it out like YOU DID NOT PURCHASE IT u dont tell me what to do and I just feel like the security dont do they job Rightt it could be a fight and all they do is call principal like do ur job.. but im not gonna say to much about this schooo bc I used to go here for years but this schooo needs to better for the upcoming students and more and hire better staff .!

We recently moved into this school's boundaries, and we have been super impressed with how engaged the faculty, staff, and administration are. They were very welcoming and the other kids have been very welcoming to our kids. Walking through the halls, we regularly see teachers taking the time to work with kids to get them back on track.

We have a child with special needs and Dr. Kogon, Mr. Warner, and the other staff have all been very welcoming and supportive. I truly believe they have my child's best interest at heart and they are doing everything possible to support him. We are very appreciative.

One of our young son's was struggling with the transition to the new school and mentioned another kid slapped him, as happens with kids. I reported it to the school and they took immediate action to counsel the kids and ensure they understand the school's expectation for appropriate physical contact.

Absolutely stellar. We have moved a lot and have experience many different school. We were blown away by how welcoming and helpful the team at Wheatley has been with helping us get acclimated and ensuring our kids are supported and welcomed. This is truly one of the best experience we've had with a school, and we were foster parents of 31 children, so we are intimately familiar with the benefits of a good school.

The drama and music programs in the Wheatley campus help to take the students' boundless energy and put it to work on positive projects that push the kids be confident, proud of themselves, their school and their community. Their teacher Mr. Scott Slay has been a huge part of making this happen. He is very young. He acts as if no situation is too difficult for him. He is patient and caring but firm and has high expectations for each student. He spends a lot of his own money to make learning fun and empowering. He gets big grants too. We are really lucky to have this wonderful teacher at Wheatley.

Great school in one of the more suburban-like areas of Washington, DC. The teachers are great and many live in the area. In the years ahead, this school will prove to be a powerhouse institution in DC.

The school gets better every year. I appreciate how well the after care program has come together. My son's 3rd grade teacher was great. She stayed in constant contact with me throughout the year as far as my son's progress. It was rather concerning to me that NO ONE in her class made the honor roll though. The school needs a tougher policy on bullying. My child was the victim of bullying several times last year and it seems that Mr. Cartland is too lenient and really doesn't care, nor is his intrest fixing the problem. Bullying is SERIOUS and should never be swept under the rug. The school counselor (Ms. Little) dresses a little too provocatively for my liking, but for the most part, the staff is great!

While Wheatley's proficiency is increasing, someone else is taking credit for it: Turnaround for Children Inc. Turnaround has been in the school but a couple of years but is claiming credit for five years of proficiency increases at Wheatley Education Campus.
