The teachers pick and choose they issues they want to deal with within the children, there is favoritism towards certain students.

I was super excited to have gotten my daughter into one of the most sought after schools in DC however; this one year of of Pk-3 has shown me that KIPP GROW CAMPUS, isnt anything like I thought it would be. Theres no passion in the teachers. They all seem like they dread their job. The principal is very dearly ever seen, it took me a very long time to figure out she was the principal as well as the vice principal. The vice principal is really quite and meloncoly. We where told there was a parent committee, that never happened. I am highly discouraged by the scheduled they have set up for Pre-k3 it reminds me of a Middle - High school schedule. Its not effective for children 4 & 5 years of age. Parent before enrolling please ask about these things. Over all I will give this school a honest 3. This KIPP most definitely gives KIPPS a bad reputation.

I am a former Montgomery County Public School (Maryland) educator, and have dedicated most of my life to education. I was skeptical when I heard about KIPP and the charter school programs in general. Now that I am a parent of two children at KIPP Grow, I am amazed at all the things that KIPP is doing BETTER than the public schools! I cannot express my gratitude to the highly qualified and dedicated staff at KIPP. I can tell a school is excellent by the happiness of the staff...and they are happy! I am pleased with the curriculum because my children are excelling in reading and math. I look forward to my children continuing through the entire KIPP program, and advise you to strongly consider KIPP if you are dedicated and desire the best education for your children.

I love this school! My son is reading on 1st grade level and he is in Kindergarten. I give special props to Mr. Jay Guzman and his aide Ms. Mccrimmon. The Saturday school is somewhat of a challenge because I'm going after my Bachelors and attend school on Saturdays but..he goes to an outside activity on other days so I was able to be exempt from that. Nevertheless, IT IS AN EXCELLENT school!

I'm the mother of a PK-4 student. This is his first year at KIPP Grow and we have had a wonderful experience thus far. The structure KIPP provides is fantastic for our son. He thrives in this environment. He has grown so much academically since the beginning of school. The teachers and administration are top notch! I'm continually impressed with the level of professionalism and care the staff has towards the students. I was initially concerned that the strong focus on structure would make it a less nurturing environment, but that has not been the case. The teachers genuinely love their students. The school continues to grow in diversity and I think it will become more and more diverse, but the school's commitment to the education of those who are disadvantaged is excellent. If your child is chosen in the lottery for KIPP Grow, you better claim your spot ASAP!

I'm a mother of a five year old starting Kindergarten SY 2011-2012. This is her first year at Kipp Grow Academy. KIPP has a summer program that was mandatory, which for my child was great she was able to learn the rules of classroom behavior, meet her teachers and get acquainted with the school. Her teachers are great the staff is wonderful. The principal greets her every morning and afternoon by name. I'm very pleased. Days are longer than most schools and Saturday enrichment programs are a most. The school has high standards and this is a blessing to me!!!
