Horrible, students are bullied, treated like prisoners and given detentions for the smallest things. I removed my child and had several parents complain about dismissive behavior of adults in the building.

In my 3 years at Dc prep Bmc Ive been able to create a safe space & culture where students arent afraid to be there selves, and learn a few new things about somewhere theyve never been before. I love being the African Percussive Music teacher here at Bmc because the positive reinforcing relationships Ive built with these loving prepies!

I love DC PREP! I love the atmosphere and the teachers and the 2023-2025 school year has been the most involved school year and exciting school year I have experienced! Literally the best and caring staff and teachers .. Both my children attend and we have been with DC PREP Since 2016. They all feel like family!

My son was a student a dc prep and I decided to transfer him for multiple reason and I realized academically he was advanced because of the education he received while attending dcprep and Im forever greatful for dcprep for setting my son up academically

My experience was definitely an experience! I loved how they pushed my child academically and always saw the potential. In my personal experience I didnt feel like they valued my opinion when it came to things like putting supports in place for my child or supportive plans for my child. Overall I feel we did the best with what we had and for that Im thankful!

In my experience at DC Prep everyone of the stress never have been extremely helpful with I mean everything and anything from my kids needing shoes and Christmas gifts, thanksgiving baskets, Covid essentials even school was virtual, you name it. My oldest daughter started DC prep in 1st grade and graduated 8th grade years ago and Ive had 2 other children graduate dc prep as well with my last one graduating in June. This has been such a journey and couldnt have chosen a better school for my family. DC Prep is our family, thank you always for everything.

DC Prep Benning Middle has some of the most dedicated teachers, leaders, and staff. Students are held to a high academic and behavioral bar which aims to educate the whole student. In addition to regular math and literacy classes, all students are provided with a small group intervention in both subjects. The leadership team at BMC is consistent, reflective, and open to input from parents, families, and students. This middle school is a great place to send you student and will help them get into some of the top high schools in the area.

Very military-esque. Teachers/admin are young and immature (two even created "hate lists" of students during their prep time). Principal makes statements such as "we need to teach preppies how to behave because their parents will not." :-|

I am a student or well was one , and well my brother told me his experience and it was exactly the same as mine. Yes it's great at teaching , and discipline , but they go overboard sometimes. For example here are reasons for detention: not having a book, not wearing a belt, no uniform (includes shoes), students from 6th- 8th do not get any recess and hours are of arrival and dismissal are 7:30 a.m - 4:00 p.m, if you're a new student you have to stay until 5:00 p.m ,they used to do if you were in 4th grade you stay until 5 , but not any more. If your child's homework percentage is low your child stays until 5:00 p.m teachers can be mean one time I had a teacher tell us a very rude thing to us all , and told us that of we speak of it we will have an F. Another time a student stole a prize and they took recess away from everyone. If you stay until 5:00 p.m your detention lasts 30 minutes while if you dismiss at 4:00 your detention lasts 1 hour. They have field trips where expectations are that you never miss a day of class (even I'd it's excused meaning you have some kind of document proving you weren't somewhere else) , and have above 95% homework and 100% punctual one month before the field trip I missed a day , because I had a virus , and well unfortunately couldn't go. Students there are very rude, as well as teachers. It's a military school with some rules that are pointless. This was my review from a student at DC Prep Benning Middle Campus

DC Prep BMC is a school of teachers and mentors who are passionate about their work, consistent in their delivery of learning strategies and behavior modificatios, and committed to ensuring that all students achieve their highest potential.
