I recommend not to apply for this school for future middle schoolers, because the teaching here is very harsh, gives too much work, and doesn't do much for anti-bullying. I am a fellow student here and a specific teacher is making me want to get homeschooled because he gives us way too much work (138 assignments) and he yells at us for no reason. My fellow classmate asked the teacher a question and the teacher just started arguing with her for 30 minutes straight. So if you want to apply your kid here I recommend not to.

This is among the worst middle schools in Jacksonville Florida. Do not let it's location fool you.

WARNING: This school doesnt protect your child from bullying. You will not even get a phone call if your child is harmed. The teacher will just watch it. Then will deny they even saw it. Your child is not protected at the school at all . They dont call you!!! I only found out because I wrote a letter to the superintendent. But that really didnt even help.
My child was jumped and beat up within two days. I did not even receive a phone call from the school or teachers about my child being harmed mind you her hair was pulled out of her head. She had 3 knots on her head. I did not know my child needed to learn how to fight just to go to school and get an education. But I will promise you they will call you and possibly even suspend your kids for their Ridiculous dress code rules. My daughter had chocolate milk poured on her head and not one person helped her wash it out, it stayed in her hair the whole day, Also girls who jumped her from behind and beat her up, only got two days of suspension and that was just 1 of them. They will say to you theres a no tolerance for bullying, dont believe them, they hide it. Ask your child daily!!!!
Find other reviews, you will read others who experience the same and why some transfered there child to another school. Ask others about Landmark Middle School. They Do Not Protect your child from being harmed!!!! I would not recommend any child to go to the school who does not know how to fight. My baby is only 11 years old never ever has she been in a fight she doesnt even know what to do. She was hurt pretty bad but the school didnt even send it to the nurse.

It's a solid 5 because they could be better with stopping the bullying and actually doing something about it.

There were 14 fights at the school yesterday, 14!!!! This school is not at all for children who want to learn and actually make something out of themselves. My child has spent more time trying to avoid getting hit while walking to class than learning anything. She recently transferred in due to our family moving to Jacksonville. She is a smart kid and does not need to be in an environment such as this. No child should!

Bullying and fights are out of control. This school is more like a prison than an educational institution.

My daughter has never been bullied so much in her life as she has here. Every day there is a new instance.

Overall, I'd say Landmark is a pretty good school. Despite the disadvantages there are, such as fights and bit of bullying, it's not that bad at all. In my experience in yellow team, the core class teachers do an excellent job, by giving students enough homework and thought out lessons. However, the majority of the elective teachers seem to be quite lazy. There are some who do assignments and get involved with the class here and there, but there are also some that provide little to no education. As for the fights, to be completely honest, it's just a joke. Some of these students literally fight only for attention and to seek drama. As long as you stay with the reasonable people, you will be fine. As for bullying, being a quite person, I never had any major problems. Besides a few mean remarks here and there, I have never been harassed or punished severely. If someone is being bullied, which is highly unlikely, then it's their responsibility to speak up. I can see the school is attempting to develop strong character within the students, such as giving out tickets (which can be redeemed for prizes), food trucks, holding student meetings regarding conduct, etc. it doesn't seem to effect the "bad kids", but it does give opportunity for treats for those who behave. Overall, the core teachers are excellent, homework approach is effective, real bullying is scarce, and the school is definitely trying to improve on several things, such as strong character. Overall, a great school.

Very dangerous environment. I am a substitute teacher. Both times I subbed at this school fights broke out, the 2nd time being in the classroom I subbed in. No support from administration at all. The fight that broke out in my classroom was male/female physical fight. Other students were in the line of fire, as well as myself. Administration blew it off as a "personality conflict". If your child goes to this school, and you have no other options, I would highly recommend your involvement. If admin does nothing, make your voice be heard, and demand results, even if you have to go to the school board.

I go to Landmark Middle School it's a great safe school you sit at one table and have to stay on one side of hallway it keeps others safe and from getting hurt and it has lots of programs so you are able to get skip up and they also have douglas anderson coming to the school for the talented students so this is a great school for all students.
