Both the principals at the school do not know how to treat parents or students. They act like theyre offended you would even dare need their assistance and they throw any student under the bus anytime the student even breathes wrong. Theyre loyal to their teachers and staff, not trying to make fair decisions, only biased ones. Theyre disrespectful to the parents and the students. Disgusting behavior, the leaders here are corrupt. Dont go here

This school doesnt seem to have changed. Last year we noticed that when the teachers and deans have a favorite they can do or say anything and they believe it. When you confront them they do an investigation and taylor it to fit their agenda. It is happening again this year. To the point that the Deans will lie to you. My son went to the restroom in the larger stall that had a sink. Went to wash his hands got soap on as he tried to turn on the sink that was broken. He then went to go to a sink that worked but some soap dripped and got on the handle of the door. While he was in there another student was beating on things. He was asked if it was him he said no and the other student said he was throwing soap. When the teacher went in she saw the soap and said it was destruction of school property with the soap and stated that it was in the places that would Mach what happened. The dean calls and when I defended my son that its not deliberate he says that the teacher saw him do it. But when you read the report the not what the teacher said. This is the most mild of what I as a parent have witnessed and heard.

This school is absolutely ridiculous! Dont breathe you might get a referral!! They right students up for anything they do! My son and his class were at the end of testing, My son got on his computer and started watching videos on silent. Him and a couple other students (not bothering or disrupting at All). And they had the shield board up as well. my son got 5 days of suspension!!! If you talk in class they want to give a Major referral! They are children!! they are going to do things like that. tell them to knock it off and go on about ur day! U don't have to ruin their life over it!! Alot of college Universities won't accept u if you have referrals. A referral should only be given for extreme cases! bullying after being warned and it hasn't changed. sexual harassment, stealing, Constantly being disrespectful and no other approach works. They are children!! They need guidance to get on the right track. (1 2 3 then ur out) not up u messed up major referral. thats how this school works and The principal is the one doing it! Mrs. palosiano I believe is the spelling. So do urself a fav don't put ur children in this school!! also 4 mins between classes and no lockers! from 1 side of school to the other in 4ms no time for bathroom at all! 2024-2025

Its a beautiful and newer school but the teachers and admin are horrible. If you dont care about school education then send your kid, but if you do read on. One of the things I am not is a my kids an angel or a keyboard warrior type. I give credit where its due.
My daughter attended this school for 2 years, 7th and 8th grade. Shes a typical student and has had some issues in the past. Not to mention tragedy that struck in 2021-20222. However she never felt welcome at this school. The teaching was sub par and the teachers (most) of them dont care! The last straw for our family was when an 8th grade teacher decided it was ok to cuss my child in front of the class - so yes there were witnesses and an investigation. She, the teacher, I dont even think was suspended. I even went to the principle who was very nice and receptive to the issues. She was able to move my child from the class but there wasnt any accountability for her actions. I would rather send my kid to Warrington or move to another town. We decided to move our daughter to another county and we travel 2 hours daily to get a decent education without being cussed out! And Parent - Teacher involvement = non existent. FYI we want to be there for the teachers and help control our kid and make her accountable. But we were never called upon. So dont expect them to want your involvement! Poor school - I thought it was the whole county and I was excited about Jim Bailey - boy I was wrong!!!!

Bailey Middle is like most public schools, the amount of effort the students and their familes put into their education and overall experience makes all the difference. The county has "school choice" which provides opportunities for kids from underpriveledged neighborhoods, but the school is not magic - simply attending is no guarantee that you'll succeed.
My child made it through Bailey without incident, received a solid education, and is now in the top 5% of his high school class.

My daughter came to this school due to major bullying at her old school. We were super excited for her to start new and be able to focus on her studies rather than who was gonna try and attack her next. Well, sadly this school is exactly the same as the other. They have actually enrolled some her her bullies from the other school into this one!
The teachers are hit and miss here. Some are wonderful and look out for the students but others dont care at all.
The Dean for the 8th grade is the worst though. She does not care for her students at all and allows them to be abused by other students even if they come to her. She doesnt have the time for them and always tells them to mind their business. My child got in trouble for defending herself from a bully when she realized the school was of no help. Then got suspended even when there was video evidence of her defending herself. The Dean did nothing to find out what happened just punished them both. She does not work through problems or helps students deal with issues they have there everyday. She ignores them and suspends them so its no sweat off her brow.
Sadly our worst experiences with schools have been here in the Escambia district. My children have been to many of schools with no issues. If there was a bully it was handled in a day. But here in these schools in this district. I worry about my childs safety every day. We will be going private after just one year in the Escambia public system.

First and foremost, the curriculum is lacking. For example, my child received an essay assignment, wrote an illogical single paragraph full of grammar and spelling errors, and received a 100%. They will not learn anything at this school, because as long as they turn something in, they will get an A. Some may be fine with that, but personally I would really like for my child to be a functioning member of society someday. Also, administration is cold and uncaring. Will not give an example here to avoid identification, although they will probably still know anyway. I hate this school with a passion, but unfortunately, I don't think there are any good public options in the area. Heavily weighing switching to private next year but am not a fan of religion-based institutions, which are the only alternative options I've found. Even if they do indoctrinate the children, it would probably still be leaps and bounds better than this school.

My daughter has been going to Jim Bailey for the past 2 years. She has been experiencing some social behavioral challenges with her peers while in school. The teachers have been amazing at communicating with me. They have all been open to the suggestions I've made to trying new things to help my daughter be successful. Dean Gainey and Ms. Whitley have truly been a huge help through communicating with my child, often and giving her a safe place to express her feelings. I am really happy to see the positive changes the principal has made thus far. Thank you to all the teachers in Escambia county for all your hard work! I know its not easy but with a village, anything is possible :-)

The Deans here dont even send their kids to this school, they go to private. If that doesnt tell you everything you need to know I dont know what does. I tried to move my child away from the drama here and found the funniest visitors upon orientation at new school. Quite comical. Fire this principal ans do better for our kids!

Absolutely horrible. Wish I would have listened to friends whom know the principal on a personal level and refused to send their children to her school for that very reason. Poor leadership. Decisions made not in the best interest of child with disability regarding discipline for something completely unintended and accidental. Even though child had no ill intent or any previous discipline issues, AB honor roll and this awful principal threatens to completely remove child from school. Students here can barely write a formal sentence or paragraph. Reading is not pushed or encouraged. No book reading assignments at all in 6th or 7th grade. Essays are done on an elementary level and not frequently. How are our children supposed to survive and thrive in high school when they can barely read or write? Teachers are not held accountable for grading assignments and putting them in timely. Some actually wait until the end of the term which does not allow parents to hold child accountable and make them learn to turn in their work timely. We as a district need to address the facts of our broken school system. Its disturbing that we live in a very upscale area but no better choice for middle and high school. We have wonderful A grade schools for elementary with blue angel and Helen Caro but we have no choice but to pay for private school to send our babies to a less than desirable C grade middle school - and from there a C high school. Constant behavior issues and drama at Bailey is not addressed correctly or efficiently. My child should not be subjected to this type of disgusting behavior or hear about kids fighting in hallways, vaping in bathrooms or having sex at such a young age. They should be monitored much more closely than they are on school grounds which would stop the rumors where they start, prevent fights and illegal activities & make those kids be there to learn. The leadership at this school has failed at every level. Please join me in making formal complaints to our school district, county commission and anyone that will listen. We as tax payers deserve more, our kids and their future deserves more! The principal here is in way over her head, she stays shut up in her office and disengaged from the students, parents and teachers.

We had reservations about Bailey before our son started there, but we have been very happy overall. My son works hard and does well. Seeks out and receives help when he needs it. Staff is attentive and communicates well. If the student is willing to work and the parents are willing to be involved, Bailey is as good a school as any I have experienced.

My eldest son is gifted and lessons were not differentiated for him. His gifted identifier was completely ignored from a state that has higher test scores and reports.

Absolutely not! The teachers and administrators do not understand the state laws protecting children from bullies. They make excuses for bullies and instead protect the bully. My son requested a schedule change because of a bully and was brushed off. He was physically bullied in class and the teacher wrote it off as horse play. They do not take it seriously AT ALL!

Very poor. Students have access to areas of the school where personal information of other students is being released. Bullying is rampant with no plan to prevent or help. Some teachers are completely inadequate to the point where some of the great teachers have commented that they dont even consider the horrible ones teachers, just dictators. The principal will tell you what you want to hear to get you out of her office. Meanwhile, the administration will cater to the kids who are well known. Not a good environment for military kids because they dont have the roots in the neighborhood that the favorite kids have.

Not the best ive been to six different schools,the teachers work hard,but most if the students just don't try nor care,and so the students who don't wanna be their to learn should leave instead of wasting every ones time,and then they can focus on the people who are their for the right reasons and wanna graduate,their bullying rate is high because if you witness something and then say something not very effective precautionary measures are taken overall I would rate like a 6/10

The truth of this school is by far outdated, you get the word by mouth, you will see if you enroll your child ... anyone who is posting positive information has to be fakeor highly misinformed. This was once a decent school, bullies and bad staff now run this school. Please do not send your child here if you can avoid it. Any school North of I-10 Has a better rating.

The faculty and staff are very supportive, and if you make yourself friendly and take the right steps they will support you fully. I took a part in academic programs, all honors courses, and even played in the orchestra.

My son attend this school first time for 8th grade. We found that the teachers just get their pay checks and everyone just makes it to 4pm to go home hoping to have as few problems as possible. It could just be middle school itself, it could be the times we live in. But expect little and get them through if your stuck here in this area. But if you were hoping for a good school, you will be very disappointed.

They care and want to provide the best academic instruction. What holds them back are the students who are disrespectful and do not care to do their school work. I have seen students in class who do not submit class work, and those students cause the most disruptive problems.

This is a fine school, and as we all know, everything needs improvement. Two of my Daughters attended Jim Bailey. The school provided a strong foundation prior to them entering the International Baccalaureate Program at Pensacola High School. One earned numerous scholarships to college which paid for her education, and the other has also earned numerous scholarships which will pay for her education.

Jim Bailey provided a fine opportunity for them academically and athletically. They were fortunate to have superior teachers and fine sports coaches.

Between the fine staff at Bailey, the attention/support we give to my Daughters in their academics and accountability for their academic and behavior performance on the report card, they did well.

Although we cannot control the behavior of other students, we can encourage and check on the academic and behavior performance of our kids. If all parents ensure our students do their homework and show respect to teachers, there will be a much higher and greater result in academics and conduct.

They do NOTHING to the students that are rude and mean. But they will rearrange the victim's life so they don't have to deal with complaints. If your kid has behavioral issues, they will fit in just fine and hardly every receive more than a one day in school suspension.

This school lacks any discipline. The teacher are dealing with so many problem students they never actually teach. Forget about having issues solved. It took two days to find a class my child would not be screamed at, called names, or have people stick used bandaides on her. The counselor referred to these children as "spirited". I had so many people recommend Bailey as the best middle school in the area. I would really hate to see how bad the other schools are. We removed our child. Our other children will also be home schooled during middle school until we can move out of this nightmare of a city!

I have two children who attended Bailey for 6th-8th grades. Every school has it's issues, this one has MINOR flaws. There are no lockers, but is that really a big deal when the education is good? Both of my kids went on to honors and AP classes in high school thanks to the teachers at Bailey! I never felt like my kids were not safe or were neglected. The bottom line is that at this age and older, what you get out of school directly relates to the work you're willing to put in!

It's a great school but it could be better than it is.No lockers in the hallway for Bailey school students,the only one you get is the one in p.e.!!!!!!! It also could be better if they made it easier for Bailey beginners.

This school's faculty is ridiculous and petty. They are more worried about their reputation than they are teaching and mentoring children. I thought enrolling my son here would be beneficial to him and his education, but its been nothing short of a knit picking nightmare. The faculty and teachers are rude, short, and borderline unprofessional. Never again will one of my children attend this joke of a school.

Average middle school with a fairly weak academic schedule. Most of the teachers seem to care and are willing to talk to parents, but the school administrators (especially the guidance counselors and principal) are worthless. Will never return e-mails (delivered within their own system off their website). Every parent I've spoken with recommends calling Malcolm Thomas (the school Superintendent) to get any action or to even get a simple response to a question.
