My son has been going here since 3rd grade and he is is his 4th grade year now. The teachers he has had definitely set the bar for educators. The staff and administrators are all supportive and ensure the childrens safety. They really care about the success of children.

My daughter has been a student here from kindergarten and now going into their High School. That speaks volumes to me. The school is a very well education driven school. My son is now also a student here and going into the first grade. Hoping he also graduates from their High school.

I am a teacher at this school. I started teaching 3rd grade in 2019, took one year off for Cancer treatments and returned in 2021. The administration has been incredibly supportive, making sure my specific disability needs are met. The families and students are absolutely amazing because they highly value education. Many of the families are immigrants and as a result they truly appreciate the value of free high quality education. I hold an AS in Early Childhood Management, a BS in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Educational Literacy. My certifications include Pre-k to 3rd Education (ECE), Reading Certifications K-12, Reading Endorsement, Gifted Endorsement and ESE K-12. Most of our teachers are comparably qualified.
The best thing about teaching here is that administrators are all former classroom teachers and a result we get a planning period and dedicated lunch black EVERY DAY! Additionally, most of our students come from multi-lingual homes and make phenomenal growth every year. The K-2nd years they have more challenges than native English Speakers, but in 3rd grade they really show what they are capable with. We have very few retentions, which considering our students' background is very special. As the campus I work at is 3-8th grade, I'm excited to see my first class from 2019/20 graduate and move on to High School this coming May. Most of my students still attend along with their younger siblings.
I really love working here and its worth my 25+ mile drive to work every day. (On a side note, most of the negative reviews are from 2017, there has been a huge change in staff since that time)

My daughter is in this school since kindergarten and she is a 3rd grader now. We love our experience there! Teachers and staff are very supportive and there is no bullying at school. My daughter has a lot of friends and love coming to school.

A++++++ My daugher was there from 4th-8th. Could't be any happier. Starting from the administrators and teachers and even custodians treat children with respect. Most of the people don't understand that it is a Title 1 school and saddly to say many parent don't care about their child as they should and teachers and Dean of Students invest a lot of time in to children on top of the academics. My daughter made level 4 and 5 on her State tests in all subjects, common sense that school is awesome! My little one will be going there in a year.

Biased, communist style approach to leadership. If you have a concern to address, they will place a target on your back and start to figure ouot a way to get you to leave. They do not care about the turn over rate of teachers. They are only concerned with making sure they can employ their family and friends and take money from the district.

They are not properly staffed for the special needs students. If you have a child with special needs, this school would be the last place to consider sending them. They do not recognize the importance of an ESE department and the unqualified administration believes the ESE Teachers to be equal to paraprofessionals. They do not budget the funds they receive for these ESE kids properly, leaving them short staffed for the students needs leaving some kids under supported.

They have a dean of discipline that has no experience or knowledge of his job duties. They play favorites, and allow some students to get away with it because they attend the owners church or the students family is friends with the owners.

The biased approach of the administration flows right down to the students. There are students that get special treatment, because of who they know in administration. This favoritism is not hidden from other students. Student are also able to talk how ever they want to teachers because the "Dean of discipline" has no knowledge of the student code of ethics, and it is not practiced at the school.

Every Friday we check every student homework packet accurately, also the students receive a credit in their subject grade. Have been trying to get a meeting with Principal and teacher since beginning of school year. Principal has never received the message. Teacher is not teaching the students (3rd grade). She sends homework home with the students, without going over how to do the homework. Son says the teachers are always yelling at the students. He has anxiety attacks in the morning because he does not want to go back to that school and be with that teacher.

The principal will lie straight to your face. The assistant principal told my childs class to just leave school if they was having a bad day. The two discipline people dont even have experience in the classroom. One is the bosses kid (I wonder how he got that job). One student bragged that his dad knew mr soroka and even when the teachers wrote him up for being bad, he laughed because he knew nothing bad was going to happen. The kids run the school because the principal is a joke. This school is a a complete mess and once my oldest graduated I immediately pulled my other two out. and I'm so happy it got a D rating. Maybe the district will shut it down just like the other global outreaches in Florida were. Alot of the teachers aren't even certified and are considered long term subs because they cant pass the test.but if you don't want certified teachers teaching your child, this is the place to send them. My youngest daughters pe teacher is one but he's Russian so I'm sure at Global that makes it okay.
Finally if your child had mr d for english at the school feel blessed. He was tge single bright spot in the three darkest years of my oldest childs middle school life. She never opened a book in her life and now because of Mr d she won't stop reading. If you read this thank you. Be prepared parents for a revolving door of teachers that will effect your kids learning..

The school is great. I looked at many options before I chose Global Outreach. The principal is so caring and professional. The school is doing everything they can to hold a high standard in education and care for their students. The classrooms are smaller than in public schools. I really like that the school has uniforms, makes it so much easier on me as a parent. I feel safe taking my kids to this school every day.

My family and I have just relocated TO Jacksonville from Europe, we were looking for a school since last year, a school that our child could feel safe at, get great education as well as for us to have a communication with the school teachers ans administrators, then we came across Global Outreach Crater Academy School, Language school where we met some very nice people from the head of school Mr. Soroka a great Godly man, and everyone else there, our kid enjoying going there, made new great friends, learning now Spanish as well as increasing her skills in Russian and English languages.

Global Outreach Charter Academy is the best school in Jacksonville that I would highly recommend to any parent. I am extremely pleased with their holistic approach to every child's development, starting from academics, sports, nutrition, social development. Just to mention, it is such a relief for me that Global Outreach Charter Academy provides all THREE (!!!) meals a day. I personally had an opportunity during orientation days to try the meals school will be serving this year, and must admit, food is simply amazing! Fresh fruits and vegetables every day with low fat sauces and dips to motivate children eat healthily. I mean I can rest my head knowing that my 6 Grader will be fed throughout the day, and more importantly, I know every single meal follows strict state standards. This is such an important benefit for me as a working mother with three children. Everything that Global Outreach Charter Academy does just deserves admiration! Amazing teachers, great principals, excellent curriculum, latest technology, nutritious free meals, great educational experience!!!

I have four children that currently attend this school from second grade all the way to eighth grade. The past school year and this school year has been the worst. The teachers come and go, the kids grades suffer from the frequent change and are expected to understand that the work that they turned into the former teacher wasn't posted to their grade so there is "nothing" the new teacher can do about their lost work. Not only that, when I enrolled my children there I was told that the school has a zero tolerance for fighting and disrespectful behavior, yet the past two years my children come home talking about students fighting and disrespecting teachers all the time. No one is doing anything about these children misbehaving and it's normally the same child causing problems in each grade. When I go and talk to anyone about the bullying that goes on, the only thing they say, is that the child has a troubled or bad home life. My question is, what does that have to do with the good kids trying to learn?! I wish I never re enrolled my children. I'm enrolling my kids anywhere but GOCA.

TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT My daughter went to this school for 6th grade. When she came back from Christmas break we found out her Language teacher had left. She was heart broken. Two weeks after that her History teacher left. Two weeks after that her Math teacher left. That's when I knew I had to take her out of there. The owner of the school is acting as Principal and has NO CLUE how to properly run a school. He is a joke. The teachers that were good left and went to A schools of course. The kids are overall well behaved. The admin staff is rude and just horrible. They suck big time! If you don't want to ruin your kid's school year PLEASE DO NOT send them to GOCA. My daughter had so much catching up to do at her next school it wasn't even funny! Thank God she still managed to finish her grade with honors. When teachers start leaving schools like that trust me, there is a reason. I'm glad we didn't stick around to find out why. What ever the reason couldn't be good. It is was, they would still be there.

This school lost many good teachers last year in the middle school. My child was very upset, and I have never seen a school with such a high teacher turnover rate. They had to replace almost all of their middle grades staff, and the website reveals that even more teachers decided not to return. The school is in a bad area of town, bathrooms have to be watched for fights, students are dismissed from a mall parking lot. There are barely any sports teams. Special ed and students who don't speak English are served, but only barely, as these departments are very understaffed. As a result of this, we decided not to enroll any of our other children at GOCA. My child complained daily that students were misbehaving, loud, and disrespectful. Things fly here that never would in regular public or private school. I hope they get their act together with this new academic director, and crack down on the behavior that ruined my son's experience.

I am currently attending GOCA, and i have to say that this school is pretty amazing. As long as I've been attending Global, I saw that that staff here does all they can to better educate the students. They come every day and work hard to give the students the knowledge they need throughout their future years of becoming an adult. Although people say negative comments, i completely disagree with them. Some may say that their are a lot of "fights." To be honest, only one fight has broke out throughout the whole year, and the teachers automatically stopped it. In addition, the school is smaller so the teachers and staff give you more attention and you get more one on one time. Sadly this school doesn't offer a high school yet, but if they did, i would of definitely went. I highly recommend sending your children here. It's a choice you wouldn't regret.

I'm a student at GOCA in the 8th grade and this school isn't as great as it was in previous years. This schools says that it's a place where it's a no bully zone and stuff like that and tries to be perfect but early in the school year in the girls bathroom students were smoking in the school year and a fight broke out with staff watching and didn't stop the fight before it happened. Also the school has drastically improved from last year and has gotten slightly better with new middle school staff that helps us out but a slight downside is that for Geometry Honors and Algebra Honors two teachers left during the year, but they are preparing us for both EOC's and getting us well prepared instead of going lazy and just giving up on us. Personally this school is a good place to send your kids if you live in a school zone where fights happen every hour and you need them to be safe. but if you live somewhere like Kernan Middle is an option I would highly suggest to go to one of those schools.

I have been with the school for several years now, and it amazes me more and more how much attention children are getting and not only from teachers. GOCA is AdvancED Accredited, which helps students continuously to improve in education and transforms them on a global scale. Every child has a mentor. Staff is friendly and it feels like one big family, which allows the school to offer best education!

Awful school. I was sooo disappointed to find the principal resigned. Now the founder is acting principal, and he has no credentials to be principal. Good teachers were let go, they finally had a very effective counselor, ESE was great here, but now they have no staff to adequately bring the students to where they need to pass FCAT. So disappointed with this school. My children will not be returning.

I love this school, we are a military family and moved from California i love that it is K-8 all 4 of my kids go there they love it. One of my children has an IEP and they have worked with her extensively. I know that one of the middle school teacher got fired and i am happy he was a bad teacher. I like the they get rid of the bad teachers and keep the good ones. To be such a small school they have a lot of after school programs. My kids have been in everything from drama to cheerleading. This year they want to do yearbook and dance. I saw some complaints that the lunch room is to small that is fine with me they have limited space and they make the best of it. Everytime i have had a problem it was addressed in a timely manner. i reccomend this school to everyone i come in contact with.

Always fights. They don't do anything to get rid of the bullies they give them a warning and let them go. Teachers are rude and mean. They don't clean dishes in the cafeteria often, and the staff are useless. They don't listen at all

Global Outreach Charter Academy has a wonderful small learning environment for their students. Unlike the huge schools of Duval County, this school gives the students more opportunities for one-on-one or small group learning. The principal, Mrs. Anderson, is an excellent leader of GOCA. The staff is always encouraged by Mrs. Anderson to identify the needs of individual students in their classes, and work to help each child develop his or her own potential.

My son s teacher has such a warm, personable style that motivates him to do his best.
