Im a former student. This school used to be great, but it went downhill the moment middle school teacher Mr. Asaph Graham left in 2021. He was an amazing teacher, and would go above and beyond to ensure his students learned science, and he would even introduce students to advanced chemistry to give them a head start for high school. Unfortunately the replacement for Mr. Graham failed to deliver even a fraction of what he would deliver on a regular science lesson, which left me (and other classmates) having gaps in science knowledge which would go on to hurt us when we entered high school.

My grandson struggled tremendously when he started kindergarten. It broke my heart. The teachers and administrators were incredibly patient and kind to him. I honestly dont know how they did it. He truly struggled. After a few months, yes, months, he adjusted thanks to their guidance. Now he is thriving and loves school. I know I am the grandma but I want anyone interested in sending their child (grandchild) to Plato Academy that I would highly recommend it!

Have both my girls since Kindergarten there true middle school - we love our Plato Palm Harbor!!! Amazing elementary teachers, a lot of support, feel like home there!! Highly recommend this school for elementary grades!!!

Weve had our four kids at Plato PH for five years now. My children represent a variety of personalities, learning styles, and abilities. All have thrived at Plato. The teachers and administrative staff are competent and kind - they clearly care about the students. If you want that smaller school feel, where the administrators, teachers, and parents work together for the childrens success, this is the school for you.

My child is currently in 7th grade and has been with Palm Harbor location since 2nd grade. I was so glad to get him out of the public school system. All of his teachers have been awesome, engaging and have taken an active interest in his overall learning. He has played every sport and the sports programs are also great. I wish he could spend his high school years with Plato.

Plato Academy Palm Harbor is such a close knit school where the teachers and staff know all the kids names and treat them as their own. Its academically strong with cutting edge technology. I couldn't recommend Plato Palm Harbor enough!

We have found a home at Plato PH. All of the teachers, administrators and staff have been so supportive of my childrens learning goals and are truly champions for them! We could not be happier. They are invested in my children learning and growing in their educational career. We work together to support them and their needs. I truly feel like this is an exceptional earning experience and we previously attended an A rated school with in Pinellas county and did not receive the same support.

Plato Academy Middle School is really bad for so many reasons. First of all, the teachers dont care about anything going on in your life. Some of the teachers dont even answer their emails. Bullying is INCREDIBLY horrible here. The teachers dont do anything about it and just go on not caring and getting it situated. The bullying here is pretty bad, mainly with girls but no reason to bully innocent people for no reason, the girls in middle school just go and pick on people who havent even done anything to them and go bullying them. I do not recommend this school.

They don't care about your mental health at all and if they learn that ypu are self harming they won't do anything about it and will just go about you day and they don't care about bullying and just choose to ignore it.

Plato Academy Palm Harbor is the penultimate school you should ever enroll your child in. The teachers fail to ensure the classroom maintains a learning environment and some even let students run around without supervision. I am completely despondent with this school.

I rarely leave diatribe reviews like this, but Plato Academy Palm Harbor truly defaces what an educational system should be, if you wish your child to get the best education and material, Plato Academy just isn't it.

Our experience at Plato Palm Harbor has been amazing! The teachers are supportive and caring, they want all of their students to do well. Both of my kids have done great. My son also has an IEP and has had wonderful support to help meet his needs.

This school used to be very good, however, it has really gone downhill. I have a child in middle school and one in elementary school. It's only October and we've already lost 4 middle school teachers. And this is a school with only 2 classes per grade level! Bullying is dealt with in a rote manner, with nothing really being done. If you complain enough (in writing of course) they'll do something. We've had bullying issues for the past 3 years. Some of the bullying was significant including threats of violence and the worst type of name calling from a boy to a girl. There is one after care teacher that tells the students regularly about how many mental health therapists he has and seems like the last person you'd want overseeing an after school program. A fantastic math teacher was run out of the school because he supposedly yelled at a student. I'm not sure if he did or not, but this was hands down the best math teacher I have ever had the privilege to work with- during my time in school and during my 4 kids' time at school. I have little hope that my child's middle school year will cover everything that is supposed to be learned due to the high turnover. Also, the head and really the heart of Plato Academy Schools, Mr. Christopoulos, unexpectedly passed away this year. I think this will only make matters worse, at least at our school. It's so chaotic and again there are only two classes per grade level! Also, tiny sports program with only street hockey and flag football, coached by volunteer dads with no emphasis on real sports performance. So, not good for kids who want to play sports at a high level in high school. Poor playground equipment for the little ones and campus could definitely use some security updates. We used to really love Plato but now we (and our kids) can't wait to get out.

A warm, character-driven school where my children feel supported. It has a family atmosphere and it challenges my bright children without stressing them. We couldn't be happier.

My child's last year attending Plato academy Palm Harbor was in the 2014-15 school year. The school is run down, the sports field was nothing but dirt. My child would come home with dirt from head to toe from playing on the field at PE. Which, of course, was a joke. The pe teacher did not teach. He just sent the kids out to play whatever in the dirt. The afterschool sports were expensive and the soccer field wasn't even playable. We placed our child in this school in hopes that the small size would be an advantage for my child's academic struggles. Unfortunately it was quite the opposite. While administration was supportive and knowledgeable about IEP accommodations, the 5th grade teachers were unwilling and rude about accommodations. Even referring to the other children as "normal" students when discussing IEP accommodations for my child. I'm sorry I thought my child was "normal" too?
Disappointed is an understatement.

I have a child in 7th grade here who attended a different Plato campus from 2-4th grade, and Plato knows what it's doing. The curriculum is fantastic, varied and challenging. My son was in gifted studies in a different state and fit right in when we joined this campus. The staff, and in particular the principal, take the time to understand your family and your child. We love the small school family environment here and believe it is the perfect match for us. I have never experienced any of the negative things described in other comments, quite the contrary. In all fairness, I'm not someone to get involved in drama, gossip or anything of the sort, so perhaps my views are skewed. I can only speak to the learning that does take place, with many advanced features that you won't find in a public school and even in many private schools. I would love to see a music program for the middle school.

I would like to say that this school has so.e of the most rude staff I have ever met. The women at the front desk will sit inches from a person politely waiting for someone to talk to them and ignore there presence entirely and then once they do notice they will not make eye contact insteaed roll there eyes and act like it is terrible that you interrupted their conversation. Honestly it seems the majority of the staff are all this way. It is a very uncomfortable environment. Seems like a lot of political who knows who whispers and dirty looks. On the other hand the educational aspect is amazing . They have the ability to teach accelerated curriculum and that is wonderful. It is very sad to say that I dread going into the school for anything because of the rude staff and I want my children in a caring environment not a popularity contest so I may pull my kids and complain to the school board

We placed our child in the school because we were looking for a classroom of similar educational abilities. The public school system places a child in a grade based on a birthday and not the child's learning level. We were impressed by the fact that Plato Academy tested each child - and placed them according - so the classroom was never bogged down by a slow learners. Many of the teacher are just beginning their career's and have a fresh outlook toward teaching. The principal makes every effort to improve the school but does not rely or look for parental input. It has been a better experience for our child than our neighborhood elementary school but we are not quite convinced that we will stay for middle school
