I would not recommend this school for any child regardless of needs; special, social or otherwise.
The school is overcrowded.
The teachers are mix and matched, unorganized and Ive witnessed personally special needs children sitting outside of the classroom for entire class periods due to the teacher not wantingto put up with the children. Students are told to redo assignments sometimes 3-4 times due to teachers misplacing assignments. This is directly related to different teachers haphazardly teaching the same class with little to no plan or organization for assignments
If my children were special needs Id run from this school or take them out immediately.
Ive seen and heard different teachers be short with and just flat bully my kids and others.
Their ratings on google are turned off for a reason. If your child goes to this school take my advice and visit often and look around.
After speaking to several students I found at that when the fire inspections come the staff scatters to unplug all the overloaded computers among other things that are fire hazards in order to pass.
If your thinking of going to this school Do NOT waste your time or money

I love how my child, along with all children, are really welcomed in this school. Students are enrolled at their actual ability level and make personalized progress. The teachers get to know my kid and really form relationships with him. I've been happy with his academic progress as well as his social growth. I cannot recommend this school enough!

Our experience with this school started out really well but went down hill! The principal will humiliate the students and yell at them constantly to get them to fear her. Her "punishment" or "discipline" was way out of proportion and never the same. It hardly fit the crime at all. Unless you were a big volunteer and gave, gave gave. There was obvious favoritism among the principal and vice principal. They will fall over backwards and bat their eyes if they think you got money and will volunteer for everything. After the vice principal's divorce she got just as rude and mean to the children. My son was having anxiety issues and my autistic son would try so hard to do what they wanted but it wasn't good enough and he asked why they didn't like him. Another teacher taught how to humiliate people in a "nice" way. What?!?!? They did NOTHING to stop bullying but it seemed that they would join in and encourage it! Let's talk about accounting. Fees, fees and more fees but no explanation of those fees. One day your bill would be one total and all of a sudden the next day it would be higher but no explanation as to why the jump up. You can ask to go over it but they never seemed to have an answer. Took my son's out and now they are at grade level. No anxiety. Up and ready for school every morning. It's been almost a year out of Brevard academy and my kids now feel they can tell me some horror stories. It's NOT a safe school!!! I feel awful I made them go as long as I did. I didn't realize the terrible things going on there. Please, please please look long and hard before going to Brevard academy.

I wholeheartedly dont like to say bad things about people but the school's principal is not so good she is SO mean sometimes. 6 out of 9 teachers that taught me are awesome it's the upper administration that is the problem. They are mean, inconsiderate, and dont allow you to have any other viewpoint except their own, They are all ways, right. For the problem students,. They use the lobby as a prison keeping them in there for the whole day for only small mistakes. If you make too many mistakes, are just not good enough, or are a problem they will put you in a special class until you are good enough or stop being a problem.

I've chosen this school for all of my children! Brevard Academy goes above and beyond to accommodate the needs of each individual child. My children wake up ready for school and come home happy and content. I'm confident my children are being encouraged each and every day to strive for excellence. In a cultural where mediocre is acceptable in order to pass, I feel confident that this school's encouragement towards excellence will help my children reach their personal best.

Puzzled by the one star review, but it looks as if it was left by a former teacher, probably someone who is disgruntled. This school has been a Godsend for our son and a direct answer to prayer. He has some social awkwardness and at his former school, he was miserable and not thriving at all. Last year, he went through a very difficult time and cried just about every day he came home. As a result, we gave Brevard Academy a chance as the last step before homeschooling. Our son is now thriving and he absolutely loves his teachers and comes home every day stating how well he enjoys his day. He has NEVER experienced any bullying. I am very grateful and thankful that we found a school that was an excellent fit for our son..... I cannot say enough great things about this school.

Holier than thou administrator and staff. They are selective over students, and if you don't work their or volunteer for them they will mistreat your child. They are also religiously exempt from DCF which means they can humiliate, and do whatever they want for punishment other than physical harm. There is a lot of bullying their as well.
