Horrible! A student slapped my child (this came from the student and my child). The principal called me, and didnt like that I wouldnt let him interrupt when I was talking, so he hung up on me! One of the rudest people Ive ever encountered. Be careful sending your child to this school. There are bullies, and when children try to get help, they are ignored. If they stand up for themselves when attacked, they get suspended. Be very careful. The principal makes this school very unsafe!!

Only if you "do as I say, not as I do."

I couldn't tell you how many calls and emails that went unanswered.

They do not help struggling students. It seems like a huge inconvenience to the teachers.

I do not know how this school is still in session. HUGE RAT PROBLEM year after year and nothing has been done about it. Stay away at all costs.
Posted: August 18, 2017
Teachers do not take the extra time to help struggling students.

I have had nothing but problems with the teachers. They should be required to actually earn their paychecks.

Kennedy's teachers are of a quality that far surpasses the local elementay schools in many cases. The Cambridge and AVID programs are excellent, and really prepare students well for High School. My daughter had a wonderful experience there, and my son is having one now. Viera students have become a larger percentage of the school population as of late due to the charter schools inadequacies and it has brought a nice cross section of students into the mix.

My child came from a school that was not the school for her so I relocated her and Kennedy is so much better than her former school. She loves her teachers and has just got accepted into the Cambridge program.

I would have given a strongly agree, but my child and others in the career wheel classes for one particular teacher have what we consider a poor and negative learning experience, not promoting fairness or developing technological skills in this class. She also affects self-esteem with these children! She has a poor reputation with the guidance counselor, and even though I've written poor review on this same teacher during a recent school survey, I've seen nothing done as of yet. It's our opinion the career wheel teach needs to be demoted or removed from this school. Other than this, it's been very positive experience at this school and my child cannot wait until 8th grade! So much to look forward to at JFK!

One of the best schools in the district with 13+ years in a row as A+, offering school of choice program.... Cambridge and excellent Gift Program and teacher! High excelling school with lots of positives. The only negative is related to one teacher, instruction a career wheel/technology class which all 7th grades are required to have.... she is a horrible teacher and gives most kids from what I've heard low grades and low-technology. There is another technology teacher who is great and actually teaches technology.

Kennedy Middle School has been an excellent choice for my son. We had other good options, such as Viera Charter School and Edgewood. After careful consideration of each school, we chose the Cambridge program at Kennedy. The Cambridge teachers are enthusiastic, dynamic and truly interested in every student s progress. The teachers engage and challenge students while pushing them to reach their capacity. I know at least 15 students at Kennedy Middle School, all with positive experiences. My son has elective classes outside of Cambridge. He has benefited from the experience of being outside the bubble of certain schools of choice, while still having teachers who create a safe, effective learning environment. Mr. Sperr, the Band teacher is amazing. The AVID program is another option at Kennedy for college bound students who need extra help. Communication between teachers and parents has been smooth and responsive. The principal is committed to the students and the staff, including the front desk, knows how to deal with this special age group. Kennedy has been an ideal environment for my son, both academically and socially. This is truly an A school.

Where do I start? From the unprofessional staff to the run down old building, this school should be carefully investigated and overhauled. I had two children go through this school and both came out with miserable grades and where not prepared for high school. At first we thought it was our kids, but later realized the problem was with the school. Friends and neighbors experienced exactly the same problems. Countless visits to the school and meetings with the staff and teachers, resulted in nothing but wasted time. Teachers should stop complaining about their poor paying jobs and start doing some honest work. They should be ashamed complaining about a lack of time and limited resources. Get off your break and do some work. Put some love into your work. If you can't then you are in the wrong career field. Oh, and given none of the staff know how to reply to emails or offer meeting times longer than 15 minutes, this certainly adds to the free time you currently use for breaks and screwing off. Parents, send your kids to private or charter schools if Kennedy is your only public school option. Don't gamble with your children's education. Check our Viera Charter School
