This is school has me a little optimistic about it. As a parent. I feel side ways about this school. They judgemental about my kids . They dont even know them. When we had meet and greet . The principal was negative environment. I want to trust this school with kids going there . I really. I just know . The administration staff is rude also

Honestly, this is probably one of the worst schools. I knew a girl that got chased by a group of boys and were taking pictures of her, basically harassing her even as she told them multiple times VERY NICELY that she was already dating someone and rejected the boys on four seperate days. The boys also contacted one of her friends and started spamming her with calls and texts talking about how they "loved and hated" the other girl. She later took it to the principal and instead of doing anything they changed the subject to her outfit and how she was dressed inappropriately (it was school dress code, she had a jacket on that was not fitting, shorts, with legging underneath the shorts.) There has been no action taken or even any conformation they would do something about it. They preach "if you see something say something, but do nothing to protect their students.

The amazing things that i was able to learn about not only the world but about myself at this school will be unforgetable. As soon as you walk in you can feel the family environment and how welcoming evryone is. All the teachers and staff will always make sure your doing ok and have an amazing highschool experience you couldnt send your child to any other highschool.

IB Homework is ridiculous; They have block scheduling but then hours of homework on top of that and I'm not clear why - especially when it includes things like coloring. Seriously?

Monumental disappointment. I guess the academics are okay, rigorous and all but that's it. If you've got a smart kid who wants to really get the most out of high school - explore your options. HHSIB is NOT it. Guidance is a joke... a passive newsletter 'posted' once a month. Scheduling? That's done for you so no real electives. Athletics - pathetic. Can.not.wait for this school year to be over. One and done. Not dropping out of IB, transfering to a more balanced program and happily paying the tuition. This is DEFINITELY not like a 'private school education' as some claim.

The worst experience ever. Couldn't tell you if it is just our children's culture today or the school staff and administration but If you think you are preparing your child for college by enrolling him into the IB program at this school you have another thing coming. Unless you want your child to teach themselves and be bullied by insensitive horrible classmates that obviously are not being raised correctly then this is the school for you. If not save yourself the nightmare and enroll your child in virtual school.

Super school with a wonderful history. Band program is really really good...don't pass the band by. Thank god the school board rehabbed the building & didn't tyear it down like they initially wanted to do. Not a wealthy school like the other high schools (HBP) in Tampa but worth a good solid rating

im a 10th grader at hhs n the school is a good school but its true the principal really only care about the ib students like there is a separation between the traditional and ib students. But its really up to the student to how they view the school. For example before i started I asked people how was hhs and they all told mi different things and for mi non of it was true (that was for mi anyways) so its actually how the student takes it in.

If your child is not in IB take him/her out inmidiately before loosing time. The teachers do nothing, in their own word "nothing" because the majority of the kids don't care, talk back to teachers and they are afraid. The principal only cares about the IB the rest they are just there (in the school) so they are not in the streets that is their goal.

Everyone needs to be aware that HHS has an IB magnet program and a traditional program. They are two totally different animals and just because you live "in district" doesn't mean you automatically get into the IB program. You must apply and be accepted as a freshman. The IB program is wonderful for the self motivated student. If your student is not self motivated, do yourself a favor and do not apply. As for the traditional program, you may want to do some research and talk to other parents before committing. Definitely not the same experience, teacher attitude or caliper of teaching.
