Lessons: Appear to be older recordings with low quality audio. They are not interesting nor engaging.
Teachers: Several teachers tend to be unresponsive to both my son's requests for assistance or ours. There is very little consistency in how to contact a teacher, where to get information about the class, is there even a class they can attend with a live lesson and when is it. Communication from most teachers lacks information (such has what class this is, or who they are, ie no email signatures). For a school that is completely online, the educators are not well prepared to handle the interactions, communications or enquiries.
Counsellors have not followed up on actions they've committed two, 504 plans are unknown to the teachers...
I'll stop short here with one last message.

Our son has been at DVIA for 2 years straight and we will not continue as this is detrimental to his learning, as his education is now distained due to the low quality of this education program.

i like the school because it teaches me to be smart so is my math teacher I awnser problems in geometry and in the classroom , I like it when I test

Teachers get swapped out and moved around every semester like it's the nfl draft. Teaching styles are not even consistent with one another. If it wasn't for covid, I would've transferred my child to brick and mortar. Oh and don't bother trying to call or msg admins, you just have to go to the physical campus if you want to speak to someone.

The mentor Ms. Elyce is very supportive and her door is always open via text. Thank you! Ms. McDowell's door is always open via text. She has helped regarding the resources and tests needed. I really enjoy speaking with both of them.

THERE IS NO BULLYING! The children are at home with you. There may be some field trips, but as a parent you are involved. It is the BEST of both worlds, if you asked me.

So far, so good! Our child is our investment! He is learning all his subjects: math, reading, science, and social studies. His reading level has increased from level B to level I (heading to J). He has learned how to type, scan, and submit work electronically. He is confident with typing, reading, writing, and spelling. We can't stop saying how happy we are with the program. Thank you DVIA!

There is enough time to go through assignments with students after they have independently gone through assignments themselves. Assignments are laid out with to-do list deadlines. As a result, parent and student can work at their pace including weekends and holidays. It works especially great for my family and our child with special needs. Additionally, with recent effects of the pandemic - COVID-19 - I am extremely happy we chose this route for schooling choice. There was no transition from classroom to home, because we were already there.

All the teachers I have dealt with are excellent and very supportive to the students in DVIA. Our son who is in K has a great time every time he is either on campus or on Blackboard with teacher for exams or quizzes. The teachers are available by e-mail or phone. More times than not, Ms. Dake responds very quickly several times a day, depending on my e-mail count. She is pleasant and professional each time, very encouraging, and helps me with my perspective as a parent regarding the progress of our child.

I have had no issues with Leadership. DVIA is a well-oiled machine, which would lead one to conclude that Leadership is doing something right.

What leadership? You as the parent are the instructor, principal, etc. Books and online classes are thrown at you and you need to figure it out.

The only interaction that children get with the so-called teachers are occasional field trips and very awkward phone calls. You, as the parent, are the teacher, which they do not tell you when you enroll in this program.

Character cannot be developed when children are expected to be on the computer 8 hours a day with no social interaction.

My children only attended this school for a few months as this program was definitely not one for children who like to socialize or have any time outside of school. The middle school curriculum was based on well over 8 hours of work a day sitting in front of the computer. The only interaction that children had with their teacher was an awkward phone call and emails to the teacher. There are no class sessions and interactions with other students except occasional field trips. If you prefer an actual teacher -student virtual session then this is definitely not the school for your child. They are expected to learn basically on their own with a generic program teaching them. My daughter has attended 3 virtual schools and this was by far the worst. I would highly recommend FLCCA as this is a highly structured environment. Duval Virtual has no structured learning except to pile a ton of work on the child and stress them out tremendously. If your child has attended other schools, I would highly recommend that you do not enroll your child in this school as they will not be used to this type of learning environment.
