I would give this school zero stars if it were possible. Please do not entrust your child to this institution if you expect them to receive a quality education from professional educators and administrators. My sister has endured bullying, harassment, and severe anxiety and depression at this school, and the administration has shown no concern or accountability. Their response to the bullying was to remove my sister from the school instead of addressing the problem and holding the responsible students accountable. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident; my brother experienced similar treatment.

After deciding to remove my sister from the school, we requested her transcript, only to be told that they "do not have access" to it. This is completely unacceptable. Having attended Miami-Dade Public Schools for my entire education, I have never encountered such a lack of professionalism. High school transcripts have always been readily available from the schools I attended. This institution is a disgrace.

The bullying is rampant, and the administration does nothing to address it. If you want your child to receive no college preparation and to suffer from severe anxiety and depression, this is the place for them. I used to be proud to say I was a student from Miami-Dade schools, but now I am deeply embarrassed by what I’ve seen my siblings endure here. It is truly disheartening and disgusting.

I’ve attended since the 6th grade and Graduated from this poor excuse of a school
and although I had a high GPA and finished the majority of my core classes earlier than my graduating year, the faculty never allowed me to feel welcome enough to approach them for advice on what steps to take for a higher education or options for after graduation. There were a handful teachers who genuinely cared and wanted their students to succeed but the majority acted like it was a chore to teach or would have a select few of students that they favorited. This is a charter school which values making profit over quality of learning. This school school cuts corners as much as possible; they give subpar lunch to save money, reuse outdated textbooks, and instead of expelling kids that deserve drastic disciplinary action they give them all the same story about wanting to give them a chance and allowing the student to withdraw instead of having an expulsion on their record. That is only so the school can the keep the money the school its given from grants from the state because if they expel a student, the school has to pay the money back to the state. The school’s sports program is a joke too, they lie to players in other schools and upsell the teams to convince them to transfer or attend the school the following year and for years since I attended the middle school they’ve promised to build a gym which is just another lie to upsell the school to people that fall for the façade the school attempts to maintain.

I am a current Senior at this school and have attended it since the 6th grade. There is a lot I have to say about this school, but before I begin I have to address some of the bad reviews left by fellow students. To begin with, there is no lie that the bathrooms are a mess. However, that is due to the childish and reckless students that trash it on a day-to-day basis. The staff does everything in their ability to keep up with the cleanliness, but it has to get hard with so many students not taking care of anything in the bathroom. Second, the food is definitely mediocre; however, students fail to realize that it is not the school that hires the food company. Instead, it is entire Charter Schools Association that manages the food going into their schools. With that being said, the food has improved and, like I said, it is mediocre and definitely edible. Finally, I would just like to address the teachers. While some of the teachers are hard to get by due to their strict rules in their classrooms, students fail to realize that communication is key. A teacher is not going to help you raise your grade if you never ask for help, hence why the expression "A closed mouth doesn't get fed" applies to these scenarios. Teachers at this school, for the most part, are easily approachable and understanding. Many times, (Parent's, I'm talking to you now) you never realize that your child's misbehavior is costing them their grades. Instead of sitting here and ranting about what the faculty and teachers "say" to your kid, take the time to set up a parent teacher conference. That's why they're there. With everything that I have just said, this school is definitely one of the golden charms in Homestead. They have improved by adding new activities, engaging students, and giving them opportunities to have fun in their classes. (Let us not forget our award-winning competitive sport and academic teams.) So before you just make your decision based on some of these senseless reviews, try and actually give this school a chance.

Everglades Prep. Academy truly prepares the students to become successful citizens for the future. They have excellent teacher that extremely dedicated and caring. The administration is always available.

While this school has its own faults, there are also positive within this school. I feel like some of the reviews here do not give it enough credit as it deserves. Overall the teachers here are not bad and most of them are pretty good people just trying to teach. I enjoy my time in this school and while I am still in this school. While some things can be a little shaky at times it is a pretty good school to send your children to.

There isn't much homework here and when there is homework here it is usually to help grasp at the concept better or finishing work that was started in class giving students more time to do it.

Most of the teachers who work here in this school are pretty good at teaching. A lot of them try their best to make sure the students of this school have the best education that they can give them. They make sure their class is not boring or if it is boring then it is probably due to them explaining things quite a bit or your not allowed to talk after finishing work. Sometimes there are teachers here that can be bad or disagreeable at times. Sometimes there is an overabundance of teachers leaving the school for the same subject but the school try to handle it as best as they can. Overall most teachers here are good people who are trying to get their students to learn.

This school has a presentation about bullying each and every single year of this school on the first day. While this presentation might help some students, most of the stuff presented either became a joke in the school or something the students later on forget to the back of their subconscious. I do not know how well workers at this school can handle bullies besides that simple presentation at the beginning of every single year.

Graduated from here. started college and was super surprised to note that I was taught nothing in my four years of math because I knew literally nothing that I was supposed to when starting calculus. English was good but math at this school was taught horribly. The school prepares you for nothing and its blatant favoritism had made me sick from day one. Do not recommend

My Student was stalked at this school; we approached the leadership who defended the stalker saying the stalker was a joker and he does things like that and was harmless. 2 months later he assaulted her and the police were called and a restraining order was enforced. This student was a bully and the leadership did nothing to protect my student. Bullys will be delt with only when police was called and at that point something will happen to your kid.

The school implement the P.A.R.R. strategy focusing mainly on respect and equality. Reported cases of discrimination and bullying are always treated with lots of seriousness and the appropiate consequences are given to students who practice it to stop it and further prevent other cases of bullying.

School offers many options for students with learning differences ranging from intervention, intensive classes, and afterschool tutoring to help students in need. Teachers are also very supportive with students and are always willing to stay afterschool to help out students with difficulties.

Overall this is a very good school. I am very sastified with the staff and the academic programs offered at the school. The school offers differents academic programs such as the law classes, science classes, business classes, dance, art and music classes to sastify the interests of each student. Most of the reviews previously made are very outdated. The staff has changed and the school has improved a lot since it first opened. The current principal is very attentive, accessible, caring, and does her best for the wellfare of each student. Teachers are very supportive and go out of their way to ensure the kids' success. My daughter loves all of her teachers and is really happy at this school. There is a feeling of family when you walk in through the door. Teachers and staff all love and care for each kids as if they were their own. Sending my daughter to this school was a great choice and I encourage parents to take their kids to this school.

Teachers assign just the right amount of homework to student. The enough homework to review, reinforce and practice the content previously learned in class but not to overwhelm the students.

Most of the teachers do not care! Many don't want to be there and tell the children this. Others do not even have teaching certifications yet- they tell the students this too. It is very sad.

If you have moved into the area like we did this year and are faced with the difficult decision of where to send your children to school, do yourself a favor and look somewhere else.

The education is a joke- my children are way ahead in most subjects. Several teachers do not teach at all (instead they rely on online programs), and my daughters Bilogoy teacher has flat out told the class that she doesnt want to be there. The teachers also have obvious favorites and many of those favorites are the poorly behaved. There are no lockers- so your kids carry all of their belongings all day. There really are no text books either- so what do the students use? Nothing really. There are fights daily, and no one is ever disciplined properly (there are some in school suspensions thrown around, but suspensions are at a minimum in comparison to what is needed).
Also, the afterschool clubs and athletics are a joke. Most of the time meetings and practices are cancelled with little to no warning and no make ups. There is no gym and the outside area is shared by too many people to be effective. The players don't even show up half of the time.

Do yourself a favor- find somewhere else to send your children to school!

I have attended this school since it opened and I can personally say that it isn't the best but it has improved. Many students left after the first year of the school being opened because of lack of student involvement and lack of student privileges. Many teachers have left because of the ridiculous rules here and many were actually fired for doing silly things like signing recommendation forms. If you are looking for a high school "experience" then don't come here. If you like Marine Biology then our academy does have amazing, experienced teachers. If you love the arts then you probably don't want to come here. The film teacher is very strange and nobody takes him seriously. The art teachers come in and out and the music program is okay. Overall the high school is mostly separated from the middle (with the exception of a few classes in the middle school building). Lunch is terrible, administration is mostly friendly, & teachers are caring for the most part. Dress code rules are crazy and be warned, after one violation for any behavior you already have scored yourself detention. Coming to this school isn't as good as some surrounding schools but it is great compared to most.

The school could really improve their education is general. A lot of kids fall under boredom and lack of enthusiasm. This school really relies on stealing work from other teachers then making their own. I think this is a vital part of why the school falls behind. They are teaching other word that is not their own. You also want to be sure to check the was the teachers and staff run things. I've tried out for a role and the school and if you were there I did better then the opposing team and they got pick instead of me. Popularity? Favoritism? I don't know all i can say is I would not recommend your child goes here. Also my teacher just gave me a detention for not turning in a form that i forgot to turn in.....it doesn't get any sillier than that.

We are ready for a great school year. Our STEM focus will include coding and robotic clubs. We have smartboards in every class room. We invite parent feedback to the administration. We are a B school this year so we must be doing something right.

This school definitely needs improvement. During the first 3-4 days of school, your child will be sitting in homeroom doing absolutely NOTHING productive until they finish printing out their class schedules. My daughter took the same physical science class for two years in a row, and the same math as well, and she was in the advanced class for these areas. A schedule change request form was filled, and they simply refused to fix the issue, putting her back into regular classes when she was meant to be in advanced. The experienced teachers began resigning, and were replaced with teachers who were unfamiliar with the curriculum. During the FCAT testing periods, several teachers were replaced for MONTHS with substitutes. Good luck trying to transfer your child to another high school once they're here. Teachers are not allowed to sign any recommendation letters for other schools. The principal REFUSED to speak with the parents when this issue was mentioned. I do not recommend that you enroll your child to EPA if you wish for them to receive a proper education.

First time my son is attending this school. I hope this school influence him to follow a positive path. Influence him to get good grades and take his education seriously. I am so glad and proud that he was accepted to be apart of the Everglades family.

My personal opinion is that this school is great. The teachers and administrators are outstanding they will always be there to help you the most they can. The students are well behaved and do not disrupt others. This school is excellent I recommend people to come join the EPA panthers

I am not pleased with this school. I loved my high school years and this school it's not about high school at all. I have to agree with other comments about student and teachers relation, they are fishy!. The counselor is a total mess. I hate to admit that my kids go to the worst high school?

My son went there last year, but no longer attends. DO NOT send your child here. School received a D grade, when my child wanted to attend tutoring the school refused, because he signed up too late, but was there the day it started. Lots of empty promises such as electronic books never materialized and several teachers left during the school year. No real programs they claimed to have only. They are only on paper, so it looks good, to the public, but are not really provided. This school is a perfect example of why charter schools are ruining our children's education, this school is only interested in profit and not education. If so many teachers the first year, there's gotta be a problem. No matter what this school tells you it is not true so don't believe it.

This is my son's 2nd year at Everglades Prep, so far I haven't had any issues with the school or administration. It could just depend on the student and how they handle certain situations. It's really who you know and how you present yourself. Believe me, I am a 100% involved parent with my son's education. I waiting for open house date, so I can have the chance to really get to know those teachers. It is an inconvenience that its the 3rd week of school and we still do not have access to the Edline.net. :(. I rely on that big time! I'm blind without it.

WORST SCHOOL EVER. do not send your child here. it is a waste of your time. if the administration would pay attention to the needs of their students, and would play an active role in engaging their students to learn and to succeed, i might have stayed. the administration has NO clue what they are doing. they fired the best teachers at this school for bs reasons. the counselor is joke, she never replies to emails or makes time for the students who actually need some guidance. there are some fishy relationships between students and teachers which should be investigated. all of the gifted students left everglades. now, the school's test scores are going to plummet, and they have no one to blame but themselves. i feel sorry for the incoming freshman who don't know what's coming to them. if you want your child to have a real high school experience, they will find get one here!

This is a wonderful school. I would highly recommend it. The teachers, the staff, everyone in the school is very invovled and are all very caring about the students. They make you feel very welcome when you walk into the school and they are extremely helpful in anything you might need.
