This school used to be good. But as of resent year this school has gone down the drain with communication for things happening in the school. Sports are not as they used to be. Children get offered gear for sports and money gets mishandled and misused. When you ask for certain in formation or do not agree with admin they do not work with you to give you the info that is needed. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I currently have five children enrolled in this school, ranging from 7th to 12th grade, and I have never experienced a school year as challenging as this one. If my eldest was not a senior, I would have already transferred my children elsewhere. The overall environment has deteriorated significantly, with many staff members displaying unprofessional behavior toward students while presenting a different demeanor when parents are present. Additionally, several newly hired teachers seem disengaged and lack genuine concern for student success. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this school.

Teachers lack social skills. Even via email they manage to be rude (most of them)

Posted: March 4, 2020

I hope they do. It starts at home but school should follow as well.

Posted: March 4, 2020

The Principal does not know how to lead. She comes off as rude most times. Does not seem to be organized in any respect.

Posted: March 4, 2020

They need to be more in tune with some students abilities and pace when it comes to learning. Much to do in this area.

Posted: March 4, 2020

I definitely want to believe they do. They have a "bully box" in the office.

Posted: March 4, 2020

Not thrilled with this school. Teachers need to learn how to teach without the fear factor. They only know how to yell, mainly the Math teachers. Yelling is ineffective.

My son has been here for almost a year now. The system is definitely different from his previous school. He asked for the change mostly motivated by the huge extracurricular activities and academic clubs availability. He has always been an advanced student and the main change is that he learned to be more on top of his own progress, have direct communication with the educators via email and the homework flow is lighter. This school is horrible. THe principle does not do her job. She does not care about the safety of the children.

They don't have enough staff/ teachers. Kids have been without Math and English teachers most of this year.

My child has been constantly bullied and the administration staff has done nothing about it.

My daughter entered the 6th grade in August of 2016. My experiences so far have been very positive. My daughter has a health issue, and they have been very understanding of her needs. They have a "no tolerance" stance on bullying, and provide a safe, friendly atmosphere for your child to learn. The staff has always treated me with the utmost respect and teachers respond to emails promptly. They have helped her with her math skills by providing "intervention" during her elective class, and for the first time, she is succeeding in math. I am very happy with our decision to send her to EPA, and would recommend this school.

My daughter was a victim of bullying. The fellow student was expelled.

She has not taken any standardized tests as of yet, so it is too soon for me to comment

Posted: March 7, 2017

They give homework, but they do not overwhelm them.

Very organized, always clean and neat new structures, fewer studenta good security and friendly staff.

I received a congratulations letter and it signed by the principal from 2014. Pathetic staff...I am so disappointed, I will be taking this to the top!

I have been at epa since it opened I started out there as a 6th and now im going into high school im going to be honest with u right now dont send your kids they wont they education they need all the classes are a joke and when in 7th grade i spent the whole year without a reading teacher we had subs and got free a's and in my 8th grade year my language arts teacher only has 100 and something kids 8th graders out of the 200 and something 8th graders the school had attending and my teacher had 70 out of 100 kids failing the last quarter and more then 20 kids attending summer school she had a very complicated way of teaching and grading and she had favoritism . Now im entering high school but not at epa i will be attending kgchs because my middle school years were the worst at epa and i use to go to waterstone and i got honor roll at least twice a year and now at epa I haven't even gotten one ur better off picking another school

The school is good but it has its errors like that the fact of small parking, terrible food, bad behavior, she didn't really get a good middle experience. My child went there last year and she hated it so i took her out and put her in South Dade Middle School she likes it 110% better than EPA

My son will be entering this school year 2014-1015 and so far we love the school. When I visited the school for the first time it left me with a great impression of the excellence of what the school has to offer. Walking into the office of the school I was received with the greatest welcome anyone can receive. All the staff members of the office are beautiful and attentive to everyone needs. They are professional in every aspect. They know how to service everyone even in their most busiest time. I look forward to a great relationship with the school. Everglades Preparatory Academy is a great school and I am so happy to know my son is going to attend the school in 10th. Class of 2017!

I am concerned as a parent why so many teachers are leaving this school voluntarily. My child says no one wants to be there. I've started to look at other schools because this is not the right fit for us. From the things we hear, it really isn't the best environment for most students or teachers. Happy teachers = happy students. Happy students = happy parents and community. Such a disappointment.

In academic ways the teachers are trying hard to maintained the standards set by Water stone, which by the way is a great school, however I believe the Principal needs to re establish higher standards for the teachers, maybe this way the student will take it seriously. Some teacher should be teaching just elementary not involve in high school if they are not fully committed of preparing this kids for success.
