This school is terrible my child was bullied relentlessly and when he went to the teacher to tell them about it the teacher did nothing and when we told the people at the office said they would handle it and proceeded to do nothing. The teachers and staff don't teach anything and it is like the school hires random people that walkin to teach.

My child heard loud noises from a locked classroom that could only be described as clapping and loud yelling

Garbage! The school and administrators are garbage. My child went to this school and at first we were happy, but then it slowly started unraveling. I became friendly with teachers at the school and the horror stories they would tell had me rethinking my decision to put my kid in the school. From being asked by higher ups to change grades so kids wouldn’t fail, to never disciplining children, to how over worked they were- none of it good. I started to notice a change in my child’s teachers even, with no assignments being graded on time, no progress reports for my child, and no grades in the app they use. Even when I left the school, they retaliated against me by delaying sending my child documents to the new school (probably because how teacher never did progress reports and that’s what they were asking for). Just go to another school. This school is nothing but garbage.

Do not send your kids to this school. All they care about is the money your child brings to the school. The administration is garbage and treats their students and teachers with no respect. My son’s teacher never put in grades so then all of a sudden at the end of the semester when there was little chance to rectify, up pops up a bad grade. During an open house, one of the teachers called the very subject she teaches boring. I was so shocked I didn’t know what to say. When I finally pulled my son out of school to put him in another school, my son was forced to be out of school almost a week because his teacher never did a progress report and purposely delayed his transition to retaliate against my family for daring to leave. Please stay away, from one parent to another this place is trash and the way they treat others matches it.

I have been in this school since 2014, and I am very disappointed. Every year the staff changes, they do not have stability, the teachers have their classrooms with 22 to 25 students, without extra help, and the bullying problems do not stop.

Very high teacher turn over rate. Middle school students are not redirected appropriately and seem to just do their own thing. High class volumes due to the turnover rate. (One if my kids teacher had to take in 2 kinder classes because they were short staff) my other child had 4 subs within the first 2 months. Teachers are nice but just extremely overwhelmed with the amount of students. Bullying is also a very big issue here. Administration does NOT respond to parent calls or emails.

BAD SCHOOL!! My daughter was only one month in this school and so many red flags in such a short time. Big lack of communication with her teacher i was told in open house that communication was thru email and they have up to 48hrs to respond back I email her teacher several times for important things and she only responded one a week later. My daughter told her of an incident teacher that she heard boys going into the girls restroom and she told me she said I don’t know what to say several things happen different days in the bathroom.I immediately reported to the office and they said they were going to investigate and get back to me no one never came back to me , so I change my daughter to a different school because she felt unsafe in this one and was not learning much as she’s use too in past school.

Different principal every year that my child has attended and each year it has gotten worse

Posted: January 22, 2020

Horrible, nothing but problems over the past 3 years and as time has went on they have only gotten worse. Would not recommend this school to anyone that wants a proper education for their child

They aren't consistent with homework. More homework in the younger grades.

Posted: February 1, 2019

I agree with reservations. Many of the teachers do not provide necessary accommodations and do not care to. ESE staff is caring.

Posted: February 1, 2019

Many times the bully is spoken to for five minutes and sent back to class.

Posted: February 1, 2019

Poor. As an employee, I was not valued after being very dedicated, so I left.

School is completely disorganized. Rules constantly changing. Staff is not knowledgeable and rude. Constantly getting the run around and being told one thing from one person and another thing from someone else.

Posted: January 11, 2017

Posted: January 11, 2017

All they do is suspend the student from school to not deal with the issue. Instead of trying to help the child and see how they can effectively solve the problem or issue they choose to just ignore the child and their difficulties by getting rid of them (suspension). I don't see how suspension is thee key to that.

This school went down hill. No real teachers, always a substitute. No homework. No book fairs. Loud music in the parking lot. The staff has attitudes. Teacher never emails you back. Late dismissal. I'm so happy my child is in a better school before it was too late. Unorganized totally. Plus it was an award ceremony and the teacher seperated the African American students and the Hispanic students while calling there names. It's so much to complain about. But God is good and I was able to get my child out........

Posted: April 1, 2016

Again they don't care about the students. lack of professionalism. They are care less incompetent.

Posted: April 1, 2016

They treat the 2nd greaters like if they where 4th graters and the same for 3rd.

Posted: April 1, 2016

The teachers and vice principle and principle don't care about the students the front desk people are uneducated they are not professionals.

Posted: April 1, 2016

This school is the worst my children have ever been to. The last week before spring break my son had an incident with a class mate the class mate punched him because he wanted to take a ball that my son had and my son in retaliation bit him back the teacher was to busy YAPPING HER GUMS with another adult and not paying attention to the students and she sent my son home while did nothing to the other for punching my son this is the teachers neglegens I have left messages to the principal and she refuses to return my calls can some one give me an advice i like to make a legal complaint but I don't know who to talk to.

Posted: May 31, 2015

They have always treated my son fair. They always are very respectful to myself and my son.

Posted: May 31, 2015

My son really loves this school. His grades are great! This is his 3rd year and he refuses to change schools{even though there is one opening closer to us}. He loves being a BULLDOG!

Posted: April 19, 2015

Lack of organization. Shows poor leadership qualities. Unfortunately I'm zoned for a school that I am not satisfied with. I will have to pick between the greater of the two. I am always early on the website it says registration will begin at 3:30 pm. I arrive at 2:55 pm and I am told it won't begin until 4:30 and I can wait in the office until they begin. At 4:05 there is a line in another door with approximately 30 families. I speak to a young lady who is trying to right the situation and she tells me before it starts she will bring me in thru the inside of the school. At 4:30 she comes to get me and apologizes immediately because they have already started. My number to register is 37... I can only hope that Renaissance on Golden Rod will be a greater example of leadership, organization, communication and good old fashion striving for excellence. That is my experience for today.

Posted: March 28, 2015

Not worth it. All appearance no much substance. They need to change the admin and maybe it would improve.

Posted: February 15, 2015

My son really enjoys going to school. He loves his teachers. We plan on staying at this school through middle school.

Posted: February 10, 2015

This school should NOT BE FOR MIDDLE AND ELEMENTARY is Way to SMALL the children have no special area to play different sports, is not a bad school, but I insist is to small and the location between intersections and so many students made this more dangerous .ORANGE COUNTY HAS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND MADE THIS SCHOOL ONLY FOR ELEMENTARY.

I am a teacher here, but also a parent, and I couldn't be happier with our choice to teach at and send our son here. He is off to an amazing start in Kindergarten, already testing at mid 1st grade at the end of December in both reading and math. Our administration is the best around, as they are ALWAYS putting students first. If you are looking to send your child to a school where the teachers and administrators actually CARE about your child's well-being first, in addition to their academic success, then this is the place for you. In my 4 years of teaching this is the first place I feel like I actually get to TEACH and not just drill my students in preparation for a state assessment. I couldn't be happier.

My daughter attended this school in 3rd grade and it was the worst experience that we have ever had. When we enrolled her into this school she was a student in high standards. However, when she started this school her class was not assigned a permanent teacher until the end of the 1st marking period and the new teacher admitted to not having a clue as to how to acclimate the class; causing my child to fall behind drastically. I had my child transferred to another class and it got worst. This teacher was more interested in defending her colleague oppose to helping my child and she even lied to me about my child's behavior and tried to place her in detention, which coincidentally was hours after I met with the assistant principal about her failed academic plan to get my child on pace. She said she heard my child using profanity and later retracted and stated that a child over this this in another class. I immediately transferred my child to another school where she immediately excelled with no reports of behavior issues through the 3rd and 4th grades. She is now entering into a 5th grade honors class. I cringe at the thought of where my child would be had I left her at this school.

The best thing I did was to enroll my daughter at Renaissance Charter at Chickasaw Trail. This is going to be her second year there and a parent I am so pleased with every member and staff of this school. She can wait to start third grade and see her friends and teachers too. That's what every parent wants to here and its all because of Renaissance Charter. Great job!

The teachers in this school are on point. It was pointed out to me that my child should be tested for gifted in Kindergarten. I knew he was smart but his teacher saw this and more. He passed the gifted test and will be receiving enrichment services once school begins again. Excellence is rewarded in the school.

Posted: June 22, 2014

The administration and staff at this school truly care about the children and whether they learn. I know they received an F last year, but FCAT scores have improved significantly, and frankly, I am not concerned about FCAT scores. I care whether my child is happy, healthy, and learning - and she is.

Posted: June 3, 2014

I'm so sad and disappointed..this school do not reward the excellence in excellent students...they pay more attention to kids with behavioral problems(which is good) and ignored(this is the problem) the good students. I think good students need attention too. This school needs better teachers. Excellence must be rewarded too is my humble opinion.

Posted: April 16, 2014

this school is the worst. teacher bully the kids and they do noting about it.

Posted: April 14, 2014

Teachers are NOT qualified! My child hasn't been as unhappy. I will be pulling my child end of school and putting him back into regular school. The teachers there act like children themselves and are not very professional.

Posted: April 9, 2014

We have had a very positive experience with Renaissance Charter School in our first year. The teachers are corteous, hard working and communicate regularly. The school Admin and teachers work and often go above and beyond for the students however, parent participation is the issue currently.

Posted: April 7, 2014

My sons are finally excited about going to school. No more fighting and arguing about why they have to go. Whatever this school is doing, I hope they keep it up!

Posted: April 7, 2014

I love what this school has done for my son. When he was in public school he was left behind on the back burner. He has been skipped a year and still above grade level. He is now being challenged in this school, and environment is great! I look forward to see what else my child and this school can do! Go bulldogs!!!

Posted: April 7, 2014

I love how friendly the staff is. The school has a great vibe, so much so I don't mind being there volunteering all the time :-)

Posted: March 11, 2014

This school has two of the worst administrators I've worked under! The principal just sits in his office with the door closed. The assistant principal has been around forever and has completely ruined the school. She bullies the teachers, she doesn't communicate with the principal, and she berates the students. When I find another job, I am leaving! Don't put your kids at this school! Most of the teachers are horrible. Very few actually talk to the students like human beings, especially the middle school teachers.

Posted: March 6, 2014

At the Middle school level I would NEVER recommend this school. I had never dealt with such an unprofessional group of individuals who dare to call themselves teachers. Not all teachers, but unfortunately the majority. They do NOT know how to work with these children. The children are constantly yelled at. The communication with parents is extremely lacking. Bullying IS an issue. Trying to communicate these concerns to the principal got me nowhere. I felt I was dealing with a politician who tried to give me the politically correct answer without actually providing solutions or even verifying and validating my concerns as a parent. I was extremely disappointed with this school. It does not live up to the high quality standard a Charter School should stand for. I have never had such a bad experience in a school to the point I withdrew my children mid school year because it was not fair to them to be in such an environment. The change of school made a HUGE difference. Now my children thrive in school as they always have because they are in an environment that supports their learning and truly educates them without overwhelming them.

Posted: February 22, 2014

Education is not in this school. They barely have anyone to help with tutoring. they give out so much homework and barely explain to the kids how to complete there work. my kids would come home not understanding anything. Its just a shame. took them out of this school and registered them to a better school where they love to teach.

Posted: February 22, 2014

I am a parent that loves to be involved in my child school and I have seen things I really do not like about this school. I've seen teachers not trained well enough to deal with children that are not able to behave as they should be behaving. I decided to get my 3 kids out because education wise they were not recieving and to be honest I did not see any improvement. Yes I got them out of this school and I am in shock on how well they are doing in there new school.

Posted: February 22, 2014

All I have to say is I am glad I took my kids out of this school. I feel like they need to hire new teachers that are experience in teaching and that they love to teach because my kids would not even want to come back to school. This school may look good on the outside but let me tell you in the inside it is totally the opposite

Posted: December 15, 2013

rennaisance at chickasaw gives the illusion that it has it's act together. It's simply another F school (charter) that wishes to enroll as many children as possible at tax payers expense and to make sure they turn a profit.

Posted: November 4, 2013

Such a nice school on the outside. However it appears to be just an F school.

Posted: October 10, 2013

I really like this school and like the way staff and teacher get involved with the students. The only thing that I don't like is the food, my son said that is not made in the cafeteria, is preheated and is like "junk food type". He said that in his previous school there was a very good choice of veggies, fruits and healthy selections

My kids go to Renaissance charter school chickasaw trail and I am very pleased on how this school has help my kids learn very a lot.

My kids have been going to renaissance charter school chickasaw trail for 3 years now and I just love how they handle everything there around school and how a lot of parents volunteer to help out around school and field trips. My kids have come very far they are honor rolls thanks to all this teachers. I would recommend this school to all parents out there that feel there child needs a little push to do better in school. This is it!!!!

I absolutely love this school. I came from Brooklyn New York where schools are not the main concern... where there is no air conditioning in the buildings and the schools are run down.. teachers are under paid.. and there is little education being given to the children. My son attended Cheney Elementary as well- which was horrible.. teachers were always grumbling.. they seemed to not enjoy there jobs.. and front office was always rude. I am grateful that my son is attending Renaissance @ Chickasaw for his 2nd year here. The principal, Mr Mariano is highly involved and his presence is always around.. which I love! He is down to earth and always smiling! And always communicating via email weekly. The front office staff has always been kind and efficient.. i have never had any issues with them. The school offersvafter school sctivities which my son loves. As well since the school is new there is yet to be bus transportation and a library. The school is super clean both inside and out. The only issues are when picking up your child from school in a vehicle.. there is always a line that takes about 30 minutes. Other than that I give the school.. the teachers.. the staff high praise!!

Posted: August 22, 2013

This is our second year in Renaissance and I think that the school is excellent!!! The teachers and principal are the best... The principal loves the school and the students. Facilities are great and clean. We are very happy with the school.

I love the school , I like the administration, overall I met my expectation last year. My son loves it. we are hoping for an outstanding school year. Very excited. And F won t let me down, I trust the staff.

My son attended 2nd grade last year, he spoke very little English and is now fluently reading and writing in this Language. Teachers are dedicated and it ia all a big family. The principal is very involved and completely accessible to parents. Facilities are great and kept very clean. The school has a safe environment for our children.

Posted: July 28, 2013

My son attended in the 2012-2013 school year, in 2nd grade. His first teacher quit before school even started. He really liked the next teacher (Mr. Z), but he was replaced by a teacher that my son could not understand because her spanish accent was so heavy. We had no idea he was having trouble until his first report card came home with failing grades. His father and I scheduled a conference with the teacher and realized for ourselves that he could not understand her. We met with the principal and moved him to another teacher, but by then, almost half the year was over. I received numerous emails and handouts with spelling and grammar errors, both from his teachers and the school administration and the online system they force you to use to communicate with the teachers is not user friendly at all. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because this was their first year, but I regret that my son wasted a year of his school career there. I m not surprised that they earned an F last year.

Posted: July 25, 2013

This school pays attention to detail, we are all a big family. Facilities are excellent, staff is prepared, educated and kind. As hispanics we thought it would be difficult for our son to embrace english, but in a matter of months he was speaking and reading fluently. Now he is part of the Honor Roll. The principal and teachers are very involved/active with school.

This school is AMAZING!!! They really do care about each child and how they learn individually. I honestly can't say enough good things!

Posted: June 27, 2013

My daughter attended Kindergarten here and she loved it, her teachers were very involved and made the parents get involved also. I love how hands on they are with the children and how they have their own little relationship with the kids. My daughter can not WAIT to go back next year!

Posted: June 25, 2013

My school is working to put students first. The teachers work hard and it is a great school.

Posted: June 3, 2013

This school made my k attending child have a horrible reaction about attending school, I had to pull out my child from it. My child had no challenges instead being reprimanded by the teacher everyday. It was not a child friendly or an educational institute for my childs. School administrations was not helpful with solving any problems instead they added more. This school lacks organization skills, education strategies. solving problems techniques, learning challenges for students and parent-teacher-administration communications. I never liked anything about this school, it was not impressive at any aspect for our family.
