These new rules they come up with every year get more and more ridiculous. Youre not letting my child be on his phone during classes or at lunch, seriously?! I need to communicate with my child and youre not letting him. Or when theres a lockdown, he cant communicate and let me know hes okay?! You
people think youre good at discipline but it only makes these kids dread being there even more. Not to mention, my child gets made fun of every single day and asked political questions by his teachers and shamed for his beliefs?! None of them care one bit. Do better.

Everyone one there is really kind as long as you are into some sort of sport, art, club, etc. Some of the teachers are a bit mean but overall Ive never really had a problem with them. They offer IB, AP, full dual enrollment, and plenty of classes full of kids that are eager to learn. They spend their money wisely and they have one of the best sports and arts programs out of all of the public schools in the county if not state.

Upon entering a new school theres an expectation that youll be guided to take courses that best fit your student, that youll be given proper information about the school and who to contact if questions arise. Its pretty disheartening to enter a counselors office for the first time who not only lacks empathy but clearly sees your student as just a number. Vague explanations and directing us to a website is hardly counseling. Websites are not updated, student calendars are filled in after the week is over and grades are rarely correct. Communication should be key here - to have a successful student, they need that example to follow from teachers and administrators. So disappointed.

Why is there no electrician course or auto shop or aerospace class or a wood shop course all things employers are looking for. I had these courses in California which helped me get a good job with a major airline. Not all kids what to be a doctor or lawyer. If kids want any of these courses i put down, they have to spend mega dollars to learn these things at trade schools. These schools in Brevard get lots of money where does it go? It sure does not go to help kids get good jobs or help them get any kind of skills at all.

Bad, Bad, Bad Athletic Director (Fred Kenney). He harassed me after a football game. He also lets small children onto the sidelines of the field during the game. Also, coach Todd Wilson is terrible. We have heard him curse "F" words to the children because they lost a game. I cannot believe it. This is completely unacceptable adult behavior. As adults, we are supposed to be role models for our kids.

Mel High is such an amazing school! I remember moving to melbourne and I was so nervous coming to school but man! First day of school I made a lot of friends! People are so nice, teachers are fantastic, cafeteria is great, I mean everyone in this school are so unique and kind its unbelievable. I'm going to be a senior next year and all I want is to graduate from mel high. Thats all I want! :)
