My child attended Anderson in 2022, and since then, we relocated to another school district. The elementary school he currently attends is one of the highest-rated public schools in Tampa, and he is performing equally, if not better, achieving honor roll and scoring superior on state exams.
My child explained to me that he attributes much of their success to Anderson Elementary School due to its academic excellence and positive classroom environment. He prefers Anderson Elementary School because of the dedicated teachers and the smaller class sizes. He also feels that students at Anderson are better prepared academically.
I personally liked Anderson because the staff was friendly and helpful. I simply wanted to share this experience because it clearly highlights how my son's positive personal experience at Anderson outweighs his experience at a highly rated school in the area regardless of what this website may indicate.

Both of my kids attend this school , they have a great experience, We relocate from another state ,teachers were always helpful to make my kids adjust and catch up on the classes , they respond my call in a timely manner , staff its friendly and professional, since its a small community and overlook school , I can said that clases are not the big and teachers have time to help the children. They work with parent making sure kids have support at home .

My overall experience with Anderson has been great. The school has great communication with the parents: phone call every Monday from the principal, emails from the teachers and PTA notifications via social media.

In my experiences at Anderson I have been nothing but pleased with my interactions with all staff members and all instructional staff. The principal and AP, always have an open door and truly care. The teachers go above and beyond for their students , I wish everyone could appreciate the extra effort they put into each student, sometimes that is taken for granted. I highly recommend this school to everyone. You will not be sorry for your child to be an Anderson Eagle !

Denys 504 plans for students who have a medical diagnosis

Non responsive and makes decisions about denying a 504 plan without parent or tutor input

The teacher will say I have 15 min to help you in the am. But when she shows up he tells her to go get breakfast and there goes the help with math

Refused to give my granddaughter a 504 plan even with a medical diagnosis

My daughter and I recently relocated to Tampa, Florida from Georgia, and upon moving, considered Anderson Elementary and Ballast Point Elementary School- both in which were rated very highly. We toured both schools and felt that Anderson would be the best fit for her. I have been very pleased thus far with her teacher (Kindergarten) and with the after school program provided by the YMCA. She is being challenged academically and I have seen a lot of progress in the past few months. Her teacher is helpful, communicative, and sets clear expectations for all of the students. We are so happy we chose Anderson, as it has been a great fit for her so far!

My daughter was never given homework before we attended Anderson (she is in Kindergarten); however, it has seemed to be effective in reinforcing concepts learned in class and she is now able to generalize concepts more quickly.

The principal's strong leadership reflects in the teachers that my kids have been taught by.

Ms. Gadsden is awesome principal. I feel she has helped the school with fundraisers and participation. Ms. McHugh is an incredible teacher. She kept the parents informed to the kids' progress and she truly cared about the kids! Ms. Anderson and Ms. Cosgrove were good teachers too. I love this school and I look forward to seeing it increase to an A school!!

My child has been here since first grade and I absolutely love the family feel at Anderson. The administration and staff go above and beyond to make sure my child is successful. I love all of the family activities that the school and the PTA put on for the kids. The weekly phone call messages from Mrs. Gadson are nice reminders about what is going on in the school. Anderson is truly a hidden gem in South Tampa.

This school continues too go downhill. The students may work hard to keep their grades up, but the communication from the school is lacking. The new principal is extremely unprofessional and rude. What else would you expect the teachers to act like?

The school is fine as long as you have the right teacher. 5th grade teacher to pray your kid gets: Laduke or Jeffers. If you get the other one...your child is not crazy! Someone is not operating at full speed!

Anderson Elementary is a nurturing, well managed campus with caring and talented teachers. Can consider ourselves fortunate to live in the school boundries.

Anderson is a great school with teachers who are compassionate, yet hold the children accountable. Teachers differentiate to meet the needs of all learning styles and abilities. I find it interesting that there are very few comments, representing less than .03% of the school population. Anderson has always been a hidden gem in South Tampa. Keep up the good work!

This school has gone from outstanding to awful in 2 years. The new administration does not know the students, and the teacher turnover has increased dramatically resulting in new teachers who are mediocre at best. I would NOT send my child here again if I had the choice.

School discriminates against children of different race other then white. The teachers have no communication with the parents. They not encourage children, but rather discourage them. For example, the teachers lower children's grades no matter how hard they tried. They based their judgement more on race and skin color rather then child achievement. Very disappointed that my child have to learn from such an early age biases of the public institutions. We do not teach our child about superior and imperior cultures, but public school will. Very Disappointed..........
