As a graduate of Bloomingdale, who attended all four years of high school here I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a great education for their children without the private school cost. I would say 90% of the teachers here were above average in their teaching skills. When one attends Bloomingdale high school and puts in the required effort they will be prepared for what comes post graduation. I will always consider this school a much better place to attend than nearby Newsome and without a doubt far above Durant. Durant speaks for itself in terms of poor education and Newsome may be higher rated than Bloomingdale but your child will be going to a school to be surronded by arrogant peers from lower middle and middle class families who think they are all upper class yet none have even heard of Boca Raton let alone visted it and attended school there. Go figure.

As a graduate of this school, I say this schools pretty great. They had a lot of opportunities for students and clubs for just about everyone. People don't really bully which was a huge plus for me. Although the school does have a ton of flaws and had the smoke bomb incident during my senior year, which resulted in the entire school missing half a days' worth of class, but the entire school did do an unofficial field day to pass the time until smoke was cleared, which shown how students gotten along great in their environments. There is also a bit of drug culture that not many participate in but can be often (vapes in restrooms is a huge example of such actions). For parents of a disabled child, the school is pretty decent at the care for your child as they do take care of your IEP and 504 plans pretty well and hold yearly meetings with parents and student for the progress. Teachers work with their students in order to maintain and keep up with studies.

I wasn't the best student and Bloomingdale helped me get into college and helped me discover my true dreams and wants for life.

Teachers seem to care that their students are learning and not just going through their class.

I've seen the academic focus. These other qualities may be there but I dont see my student engaged in these topics as part of his learning experience.

Seems to be well run school, no issues. Don't know the administrators, though I have nothing to complain about.

I don't know or have any experience with this.

I haven't had to deal with it so that is good and says something about the school. I don't know how they do deal with it when it occurs but I imagine they deal with it well since it's not an issue at this school that I am aware of.

Amazing and dedicated principle! She really cares about the students and staff. Teachers go above and beyond. School has a highly effective method of posting all events on social media to keep students and parents informed.

Students are not well prepared for AP exams and if they want to be need to completely do it on their own.

The students use of drugs was openly joked about at athletic banquet.
Posted: August 7, 2018
Sports classes are simply made up so kids can go to practice and then given an exam at the end on something they never talked about from a teacher they never met. Sports come before academics.

We had a wonderful experience with Bloomingdale. The guidance counselor has been great and teaching seems exceptional. The football coach should be replaced but everyone we have dealt with was a positive experience.

I moved to this school district and loved it so that when we upgraded our house, we made sure to stay in this school district. I would rate it a 10 out of 10.

I had a wonderful experience at Bloomingdale. The school spirit here is incredible as well as the general support of all pursuits ranging from special Olympics to football. No school has perfect teachers, but I can genuinely say most teachers I had (taking almost all honors and AP) were good. Especially love the social studies department. The administration is generally good, especially the principle. Academics, as long as the student puts in effort, are great. I left with enough AP credit to fill a full year of college, saving time and money. My graduating class had many top public university goers as well as Ivy League and military academy.

Principle being a former ESE teacher really understands the need of all students. She really cares and wants the best for her students. Her students really respect her as a principle.

Awesome principle who really cares about the students and staff. Teachers really care about their students and their success. Students here do have have to pass there classes to graduate. If anyone tells you this is not a good school they have not worked there or had a child there since Ms. Burkett took over. .

Teachers promote high standards for all there students. Teachers are all highly qualified and caring teachers.

Favoritism, mediocre teachers, inconsistent discipline plan, bullying, drugs - shall I continue? Can't wait for my kids to be done.
Posted: January 16, 2015
It's a fun school, if you pay attention, do your work, and get involved and don't procrastinate and get high grades you should be completely set for college if that is your chosen path.!!

Everybody thinks this school is great. I however, think this is the worst possible school to go to. The teachers are alright, but almost if not everybody here is judgmental. The class of 2017 I think is probably the worst. Sure this school has spirit, but many schools do. What bothers me most is that there is a saying that says "bulls don't bully" well honestly I personally was bullied so badly I had to move schools. Because at Bloomingdale you're a bull and you can't spell bully without bull.

My school is an absolute gem. We have the most school spirit, the best students, and the most helpful administrators. An exceptional experience, and I'm only in my sophomore year.

I am going to be a senior at Bloomingdale Senior High School this next year. As an honors and AP student, I know the school well. There is nothing more exciting than being a Bull because the pride that our school contains, even through the changing of hands and drama, is astounding. Any student would be lucky to go to this school. You just have to have a thirst for knowledge. The teachers' capacity for patience and their ability to connect with their students is what will set them apart from other schools. They want to see you succeed. I found a friend in my educators here. Some students don't see it this way, but everyone is entitled to their opinion and, even though I've had my share of "ugh" moments, mine is that I wouldn't want to go to school anywhere else. Bloomingdale has a sense of community that is rare these days. There is something for everyone, but we are also all connected. I'm not sure how you could find a better school. Especially regarding the music department. In retrospect, I am only sorry that this is my final year at Bloomindale Senior High School. However, I know that though I may leave, the spirit of the school will stay with me. Once a Bull, always a Bull.
