I've been trying to get my daughter tested and into an IEP program but I keep getting the run around. The teachers don't stay in communication with parents. There is no support. They are only teaching for tests and not to help the students learn.I'm looking for alternatives so my daughter doesn't have to return next school year. The chaperones they have on the busses are rude and on a power trip. I don't feel save having my daughter ride the bus home. I absolutely don't recommend this school.

Sabal has a new principal (as of 2020) and is working to make Sabal a great school. Mrs. Trosset listens to my concerns and always has the students best interest at heart. The teachers really care about their students and work to give them the best education possible. I agree with another review that the scores may be a bit low but many families in this area are struggling to pay the bills and are unable to support what is happening in the classroom and cannot attend family programs.

The staff at Sabal care SO MUCH and work very hard to offer a caring and fun environment for students. Why I believe Sabal has lower scores is because the students are receiving little help at home. The school has a mix but includes a lot of students who are from a poorer socio-economic background and many learning English as a second language. No one is really at fault (parents are working hard to pay the bills!) - it's just a struggle for the school to do it all. I would like to see way more PTO involvement, school spirit participation and the school grounds could use some sprucing up (maybe a landscape company would sponsor that in exchange for advertising or a parent volunteer group?).

Sabal has wonderful, caring teachers that really care about their students. Everything they do at this school is for the success of your child. I have two children that have attended this school and I cant say enough good things about the attention and services that my children have received. I have only 1 child that is still at Sabal. He has learning disabilities and is on the Autism spectrum. They take such good care of him and make sure that he receives all the services that he needs. All of the teachers know him and take care of him. He receives more services that I could ever ask for. He is in the Aftercare program as well (which is fabulous) and they even come and get him for extra help. I could not ask for a better school and services for my son.

They do NOTHING when a child is bullied

Terrible school and disgusting principal stay away

Administration does nothing to help. Their response to all issues is to suspend the child.

My son has been going here for two years. His teachers have been great with him. Both of them have gone above and beyond what is expected of them.

My son has a learning disability and this school has been by far the worst with working with him. It's non-existent.

My son had some issues in the beginning of the year with bullies
I think the school handled it well. My only concern is that I was not contacted when my kid was pelted with a water bottle in the head. He wasn't seriously injured and the other boy was dealt with. Communication would have been nice.

Weekly homework is usually the same. Kids are given weekly spelling words to work on and a test Friday. Kids do not have the opportunity to review their graded tests nor are they sent home. Same goes with weekly math homework.

I've only had experience with one but I was told that because my son had an IEP he'd be automatically passed to the next grade. Can you say jaded and burnt out?
I changed my work schedule and volunteered my time in my son's classroom and was turned away by his teacher.

They have a lot of school functions / fundraisers, usually feels like they're simply asking parents to open up their wallets though

Tried voicing my concerns to the principal only to have her regurgitate what I told her to the teacher without any follow-up or resolution to the issues. BTW. Nothing has changed.

Bad. Hoping next year's teacher is better. Didn't mention that for his entire 3rd grade year his class hasn't been on one field trip. Sad.

From the front office staff to the great teachers , I could not be more pleased with this school . They keep the parents involved at all times . Teachers and staff go out of their way to know all the students names , even if they are not their student . I highly recommend this district

Very disappointed to experience office staff..and worse...the principal refusing to help a senior citizen with computer registration needs. Saying they were too busy....EATING! Absolutely unacceptable! Shame on you.

This was one the most horrible schools I have ever had my kids attend. Being in the Military we have had the opporunities to attend many different schools all over the US. When were stationed at PAFB we decided to leave off base and the school the kids were assigned was Sabal we lived in Eagle habor. Well the first week they switched my son to three different Kindergarten teachers. My second oldest was bullied and after a month of reporting to the school I had to go to the Board of education in Viera for any action to be done. The principle has no control and is a slacker. My child would get suspended and he was only 5 again this all occured of course after I reported the bullying. My kids cried to get them out the school and after tons of meeting my wife and I decided to move on base and they now attend beachside school and are so happy. Sabal is a disgrace and was the worse experience and as a US airman I was scared to serve the country on two tours in fear that my kids were in danger at their own elementary school. I serve this country with great honor however it is sad to see that the education system doesnt always act the same
