This is a very prejudice school. If your child doesn't fit into their 'ideal child' mold, they will bully your child more then the kids do. If I hadn't seen it first hand I wouldn't have believed it and I don't have school aged children.

I'm a former student from Roy Allen and I loved my experience here, because everyone there is awesome. I love the teacher there, and I wish Roy Allen had a better rating but, some parents don't see the true feeling of Roy Allen without going there themselves. I LOVE ROY ALEN ELEMENTARY!! <3

I have a gifted child, a child with a disability and an average student. All have received support for their own specific learning needs. All of my childrens teachers have been nothing but caring and informative. It is like a school family!

My child loves this school. But the Teachers are not trained to communicate well with parents of children in split homes. And when I brought it up to her 2nd grade teacher, instead of working to make changes, the principal told me that the teacher is not responsible for sharing information with both parents and cannot 'pick side', which I Never asked her to do. Unfortunately, divorce happens, and children are caught in the middle. Instead of encouraging a parent who wants to be involved and informed with her childs education, I was made to feel like an intruder. Children will only succeed in school if they have a strong support system from home- whether its a single parent, both parents, relatives or one parent from a split home. The point is, Roy Allen needs to work on developing a better communication system with parents in split homes.

My daughter has only done VPK at this school so far. So her homework is minimal.
Posted: April 25, 2018
My daughter always comes home talking about all the things her teachers taught her.
Posted: April 25, 2018
I would agree, my daughter wasnt well equipped with being around other kids. And she seems to have come leaps and bounds with the way she interacts with other kids and authority figures.

I would say overall the VPK classes offered are great. They go on monthly field trips. The teachers are awesome. My daughter just loves going to school. So far my experience at this school has been great.

I have been working as a volunteer at school and from what i have experienced all teachers and stuff are care about the children. They are trying to make every kids feel comfortable and give them confidences. Test scores have been up and the teachers are working on improving score on subject that need to be improved.

Not really a fan of the 5th grade teachers. Like some have said on here, the communication is not good, not like it was in Nh. I believe there are "favorites" with teachers. I don't believe the teachers are equipped to handle kids with ADHD and or other special needs. My son used to LOVE school!! Now, he has come home almost everyday talking about the bullying going on and the teachers doing nothing! He would rather never go to school than to go back here.

Nope my son has ADHD and has a lot of energy. If he "acts up" he has to stay in for recess. How the heck does that help and ADHD kid. How are they supposed to get out their energy!!

Lots of bratty kids who like to bully other kids. Seems like teachers don't want to get involved and if they do, they side with the bully.

There are "favorites" and my son who has a lot of energy and is ADHD gets picked on all the time by the teachers.

If the student has a hard time with the paper instead of working with them (extra time before or after school, or letting them bring it home to review) they mark it as it is and won't give them a chance to make up a grade.

Teachers don't teach anymore. Why should my child have multiple teachers for different subjects in 3rd grade...
Posted: March 18, 2016
Students are not allowed to bring uncompleted work from class home to finish to be able to maintain or up their grades. It is just marked as incorrect or incomplete
Posted: March 18, 2016
Students are treated very unfairly. While some get special attention and spoiled the ones who need the extra attention and help are pushed aside and ignored
Posted: March 18, 2016
Teachers fail to truly help students. Make no effort in reaching out to parents when students are struggling and parents only find out once report cards are sent home. The lack of communication between staff and parents is not acceptable.

Very unorganized. Some teachers are amazing while others are not! Have asked for an IEP on my son since last year and still haven't gotten one.

Great school every time I have a concern about my child they are always there to listen and help me out. I appreciate how kind the staff is and how incredibly happy the principal always is you can tell she really loves those kids.

Roy Allen has made many improvements and updates. The staff and teachers are excellent and helpful and caring. I believe with more funding and assistance, Roy Allen will be able to continue down this road. A playground cover will be protect our children from sun and heat exposure. Parent involvement recruitment is fair., but with all the family activities offered after school the right people will be there to help you.

I do feel it a great school but dont feelcthe staff is involved as much as they should be.

I went to school at Roy Allen when i was younger. It was the greatest ever, but now, after new changes, new teachers and a new look, its just not the same. My kids attend this school and theyve got great intentions to brighten and lift the spirit of this school.....ah, who am i kidding? Hands down top 5 school in Brevard County....amen

i have called this school twice in the last two days about my grandson being bullied by another child and as of yet the school hasn't returned my call. the school prides itself as an A school but they cannot either talk to my daughter in law or call me back . i reside in new york , and maybe someone in this school will have the decency to look into this matter and talk to my daughter in law. .do i have to buy a plane ticket in order for this school to respond to this .don't say your an A school show me you are and respond

The teachers my children have had are amazing and I adore every one of them. I am disapointed in the Principal and V. Principal. I have recently had a very upsetting experience with their behavior, actions and I question their intentions in certain situations. It seems like it's all politics and that's sad. This is about our childrens education and well being, not politics.

This is a horrible school for a child with a disability. My son is Dyslexic and the only solution for helping him read was retention. The great plan was to repeat the same grade the exact same way! Two thumbs down! If you are zoned to this school and your child has an issue with reading or math, MOVE to a new school zone. I did!
