The school has a great music program. Teachers so far are hit or miss, some good, some not at all, but the major concern with the school is the administration. The front office employees, especially the attendance person, seem like they can't do their jobs properly, and have bad attitudes towards the students and parents. The guidance department is another chaos, but the worst is the dean. He is rude and very unprofessional and doesn't follow up with student or parent concerns. Our only hope for this school is that the upcoming principal will be able to make significant improvements with the staff.

First, let me say that my daughter did not attend the whole four years (1.5 years). I moved my daughter from NW Florida so she could attend Florida Tech while in high school. Every school my daughter attended, except Satellite, was excited to have her as a student. Satellite HS acted like she was an imposition. She graduated at 15 they never noticed. She had seventy something college credits when she graduated they didn't care. At graduation they announced the students who attended the community college but not the university. The advanced classes were not that much different from the regular classes except 10 times more homework. Some of the guidance counselors were good. Like all schools there were some good teachers, some average. It just seemed to me, to be more of a performing arts school. The office staff seemed a little grumpy. While I must admit, this was the only regular high school my youngest daughter ever attended so maybe I am comparing apples to oranges. Conversely, as a mother of three, I can compare it to the experiences of my older daughters who did attend regular high schools. All in All it is not a bad school but not great either. I think for the area it would be considered one of the better schools.

Very few teachers are good here, and we recently lost a family member and the school refused to excuse the absence. Barely any of the teachers care for the students, and the guidance department just a hot mess. Not a good school.

Teachers lack the education to teach. English teacher 72 yrs old teaching honors English is acually teaching history using made up facts. Teachers never update edline. Athletics director is not only incompatant but rude and disrespectfull. Charges 4 dollars adult 2 student. For what?? Cheerleading is not a sport parents forced to pay 1200 to participate. Teachers are over paid. Aufull school.

Great School. Superb preparation for college and careers provided you are willing to work. Our Daughter was selected for the US Coast Guard Academy and is on the Dean's list there. Satellite HS got her ready with Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, American History and other college preparation courses. The School is relatively small so each individual has a chance to excel. Troublemakers are held to task. If you have a kid that wants to work and make something of themselves then this is the school for you. Like anywhere there are tracks that can let kids slide but if the Kid works they are going to be ready for any college. Great athletics as well. A number of State Championship teams like softball, Swimming and Soccer. If you want your kid to go to a school that makes them learn and reminds you of the way it was when school were accountable this is the place for you. And no we do not work for the school. We have lived in Satellite Beach for 8.5 years. This school prepared our younger daughter better than the Fairfax VA schools by far as evidenced by her grades in college.

Avoid this school if you kids have any sort of disability or chronic illness. Many aspects of this school are great but the school has been going downhill in recent years. They have wonderful performing arts and music programs. The math and science programs are decent. But two trends make me not recommend this school for some students. The first is that the school has recently become more closed and locked down where before it was a nice beachside school that tolerated the prevalent surfer culture and encouraged parent participation. The second is that if your child has absences due to chronic illness or disability the teachers will hound you and make you and your child's life miserable. If your kids don't have any medical issues then you may not have a problem.

As a graduate from SHS, I have to say that I loved my time there. I found some great teachers who really cared about me and all the students in their care: Mr. Liscum the chorus teacher, Mrs. Dipeppe the AP English teacher, Mr. Ziccardi who taught me Pre-Calc and changed my entire perspective of math, Mr. Simpkins who teaches geometry and has so much fun doing it, and so many more. I found that I never had to deal with "cliques" when I was there and fit in with everyone. Their AP programs are top-notch, their sports teams rocked when I was there, and their music department is one of the best in the state!!! I loved it at Satellite and really value my time there!

I LOVE Satellite High School. I am going to be a junior next year and my previous two years have been the best. I used to go to school in Orange County and nothing was a challenge in school. Now at Satellite, I get the challenge I want and need. The students here are so nice and so welcoming to new students. The teachers are the best. They care about your school work along with your personal well being. Many of kids my age do not like school but I absolutely love my school. I would definitely recommend it for those moving into the area. Great are, great school, great people. Wonderful activities for students to involve themselves in as well. Sting 'em Scorps!

Satellite High School is a fantastic school for kids. I love it and would recommend it to others moving to the area. They have geat programs for the kids to get involve into, and is in a great community!

I HATE Satellite. Probably over half the percentage of students smoke, some of them AT SCHOOL, they will come to school under the influence, and the teachers do absolutely nothing about it. I can honestly say I have only had 1 teacher who has actually been responsible and strict, as she should be. The dress code is SO not enforced, some girls come to school basically wearing nothing. And on top of that, it's really hard to find nice, drama free students. Please, for the sanity and happiness of your child, DON'T send them to Satellite.
