Weve been going to IHM for a year and are very happy! We moved from another Montessori and public elementary school and have had a positive experience overall.

Heres a few things that stand out:
- The communication is better than any other daycare or school weve been to
- The principal/director seeks feedback and acts on it to make improvements
- There are a WIDE variety of sports for kids to enroll in
- There is a large indoor gym used for sports and special events like short plays
- There are lots of opportunities for parent involvement

My children feel safe and are thriving in the hands-on learning environment. I highly recommend IHM!

Our 4 year old has attended Indian Harbour Montessori for just about two years and she loves it. The school does a great job accommodating to her specific needs, as well as providing an environment where she can learn and grow based on her own interests. It's been amazing seeing her social and education skills grow from two year old to where she is now!

Our son has attended IHM since he was three years old. Over the past two years we have seen remarkable growth both socially and academically. We love the 3-6 teachers. The new administration is committed to improving the school and building a strong school community.

As an administrator at this fine educational institute since March 2024, I have felt both joy and pride in the community presence and teacher quality that we offer our students. As a parent with two children attending IHM, I am amazed daily by the special attention, love and care- the holistic approach the staff provides! We are firm believers in the power of the Montessori method. Four of my children went to IHM. The youngest is now in kindergarten and has been here since she was 18mos old. Its a lovely, warm school with amazing families. Children are treated with dignity and respect. Because its small, all the staff knows your child and take care to acknowledge them when passing in the hallway and at drop off/pickup. Theres a volunteering group that parents can participate in, which has been a great addition. I highly recommend this school - its a soft and sweet school home with so much to offer beyond educational skills.

My child has been attending Indian Harbour Montessori since pre-K and was set to start 5th grade next year. However, we are now searching for a new school due to the school's decision to not accept him based on his academic progress. This school lacks the necessary resources and willingness to support students who may be struggling academically. This has created a challenging situation for us as we feel that the school has high expectations for its students.

For 5th grade, students are expected to complete 1-1.5 hours of homework each night, which can be overwhelming for some students. We have found that if your child needs additional support or tutoring, it is best to seek assistance elsewhere, as the school is not accommodating to these needs. We were not even allowed to bring in outside assistance for our child.

Overall, we are disappointed with our experience at Indian Harbour Montessori and would not recommend it to families with children who require additional academic support. We hope that in the future, the school will work towards being more inclusive and accommodating to all students. During our search for a new school, we also noticed that Indian Harbour Montessori lacks the necessary technologies that are crucial for children to learn in order to become productive adults.

The school is not meeting the unique needs of each child and is not utilizing the Montessori approach to foster a love of learning and provide necessary support for each child to reach their full potential.

Both my children have been enrolled in this school for a few years. I can't say enough good about the dedication of the teachers and how they implement the Montessori philosophy. My son did not like school and was reading at or below grade level. Within 6 months of attending, he enjoyed going to school and was excited to read to us. He talks about the friendships he was building. This was quite a different experience than public school.

I was concerned going back to in-person school with Covid, but have been satisfied with the changes they have made to keep students safe. They still allow students to play on the playgrounds.

My 5th grader spent more than 2 hours per day on homework. This is absurd!

My children were both newly diagnosed with ADHD. I worked very hard with the school to collaborate on a effective plan that would be good for my kids. The teachers didnt get it and insisted that she could do the work and just wasnt trying hard enough and that we were providing too much assistance. She was subsequently diagnosed with anxiety and depression as a result of trying to live up to their unrealistic expectations. We removed her from the school and depression and anxiety have resolved.

I would not recommend this school. Weve had 2 children there for 3 and 4 years and for all grades except 2nd. They have had a great reputation in the past, but many of their great teachers have left the school. They do not collaborate with parents and in our case were unwilling to make accommodations while we were in the process of working up learning disabilities and mental health issues. Some kids do great, but if your kid has any learning difference, look elsewhere.
