i just graduated from this school i was there from 6th-12th grade and i do not recommend this school. do not put your kids in this school the administration does nothing to help the kids who have issues they’ll just dismiss your concerns or discrimination. the staff has extreme favoritism and will NOT treat all the students the same. for example they’ll let some students use their phones out in the open and for other students they’ll take away their phones for just checking the time. the staff does nothing to solve issues with students and they’ll either end up siding with the other staff or completely invalidate the students. i can’t speak for all teachers but most teachers don’t really care about teaching the correct way or helping students who struggle. they’ll just blast you in front of the whole class for not understanding. the environment is very toxic between students and students and staff. the favoritism is actually crazy. i personally think that a public school would be better than this. 0/10 recommend this school.

Terrible school, my experience with my child was extremely bad, 0 stars for this School, they literally only care about the money.

IMater is undeniably an incredible school where students are guaranteed a quality education. I personally love the environment. Teachers and staff go out of there way to ensure that students enjoy the process of learning while at the same time challenging and exposing them to countless opportunities of personal and academic growth. If your child isn't at IMater, they are missing out.

They have an assintant principal ready to fight with parents in the parking area, the guy is very rude and looks more like a security rather than a leader .

Awful! i should read the reviews before , still I am suffering the consequences, my son was declined a report card for 2nd quarter , school year 2018-2019 just because he withdrew the school in january 7, 2019 , 10 days before quater ends , so they did not issued grades for him on 2nd quater .He was signed in in the new school on January 9th and they were starting the third quarter , it was not their responsibility to provide a 2nd quarter report card .

Worst of the worst
This school is excellent when people talk outside of, but when they are in is different. Students need more support from the teachers and PE teachers need to teach their students exercises and not let them alone in the area with a ball. The need to be closed.

My big boy in 6th grade had a very young teacher who only use her cell phone ad argued with the students like if she was 11 years old, no good teachers at all. Just cell phones and talkative teachers each other; they don't care about students

There is not compassion, respect,or integrity among students; I can say that because of my own experience The big boys like 8th grade trying to bother all the time to 6th graders like that or in the same classroom there is not integrity.

I never talk with the principal of this school and the assistant principal doesn't like that parents bother her because she always in the office doing nothing. My two boys went there unfortunately for one year and I look another school. Everyday was an issue with students because always at the end of the day happened horrible things and my boy told me every time and I got in shock (horrible things)

Including their kindergarten; they din't care about bullying; one of my boys actually is getting therapy because other kids did bullying on him (pushing him; taking his money, and two boys got him in the restroom grabbing his waist nothing bad happened, but he got scared) as parents we told in the cafeteria and principal assistant in kinder more than 5 times and they don't care about it; they promised you and never did nothing. Thank to MATER ACADEMY my little one is getting therapy because of the bullying there. My little one was affected socially, scared to tell someone if something happen to him. :( horrible

This school's title is imater "preparatory" academy. But ironically, this school isn't preparing me for anything. Maybe preparing me for disappointment. However, this is a decent middle school but terrible high school. imater high does not offer enough electives, insufficient AP classes for high school, absolutely garbage teachers, the food is terrible (including the breakfast), at the end of the school year the teachers assign students EVEN more work than they usually do throughout the year. A couple things such as the location of the school is ridiculous, located near a bunch of warehouses and not one, not two, but THREE trains are near this school. The street that takes you to the school is SO narrow. You would need to come very early to be here at a good time. The staff is just ridiculous as well, they always, ALWAYS ask for money and overprice everything. There was a time where Hialeah's water was contaminated and it affected the school of course, so what the school did was that they sold water bottles for $1.50. After school, you are not allowed back in under no circumstances, it can be raining very hard and they wouldn't let you in. If you got in somehow, you would have to be discreet in order not to get caught. Even if you have to use the bathroom or you're sick, you cannot enter the school. One of the biggest issues of this school is it's size. It is a very small WAREHOUSE, every other high school is better than this school. Mater middle/high is better in terms of classes, but imater is the opposite. They are trying to "expand" this school by buying the near warehouses, but it takes too long to finish. By the time I am a college graduate, it is done..

Overly exaggerated school. Overcrowded to a point that is really uncomfortable. Some teachers are really good but the rest are incredibly unfair... The securities are ridiculous, if you do not have the school logo they take you to csi and cause you to miss the entire classes and give you an "F" for everything you miss. Homework is ridiculous, they give you projects almost every week. and also get prepared for the daily trafic on a two laned street next to all the factories in hialeah. Also pray to God the train is not passing! Just to let everyone know.

Im a student and I have to say this school is horrible. I was wearing a pink jacket the security took it away and I couldn't have it back until after spring break, They also give saturday detention, and the teachers just teach a lesson one time and don't go over it again, they have also made me late to class because they keep the students until after the bell rings and never give us a pass for an excuse and the students get a tardy, they also give the same lunch for everyday of the week and will give you a detention if you talk when the assistant principal is talking.
