The school has no handle on bullying issues and they actually contribute to it with their favoring of students/kids of PTO parents, etc. The school doesn't value academic excellence, nor do they award it. They don't care about the culture or environment they are creating- the school has a horrible "it's all about who you know" type situation and political atmosphere which heavily influences the student's experience. My children HATE this school- each day we drive by it and no exaggeration, they talk about how horrible it is and the horrific environment of the behavior and lack of discipline. This is coming from a couple kids who loved school and loved their teachers, and had excellent prior experiences.

I have two daughters, my youngest going to 2nd grade and my oldest going to 8th grade. They both love their school, teachers and staff are wonderful, always going above and beyond to help my girls exceed. Very carry and have always shown strong communications with us when needed. The entire staff, principal and teachers have especially been exceptional these past couple of months during Covid-19. I couldn't ask for anything more. Very happy with this school.

Every parents experience may be different based on teacher/effectiveness in teaching methodology yet I believe there needs to be more supplemental work provided to students.

I have more than one child attending Patriot Oaks and we’ve been fortunate to have some outstanding teachers. Comparatively, we’ve also dealt with less experienced faculty and situations requiring assistance of school administrators. Caveat, once the issues were discussed between all parties involved, the conditions improved and subsequently resolved beyond expectations.

I’ve seen some posts on here stating that the principal micro-manages. I don’t necessarily see that at the teaching level thus can’t provide an opinion. Additionally, team leaders in conjunction with teachers are afforded the opportunity to develop academic plans without the principal mandating methods/modalities.
Comparatively, I believe the principal does very well by leading from the front and providing an excellent example for administrators to follow. When picking up my children every afternoon, the principal is there coordinating pick-up for each child and knows them by name. Subsequently, each administrator is out there alongside the principal and working as a team to accomplish the task. This carries over into other schools functions and facilitates well-organized events.

Patriot Oaks, in my opinion, has well balanced enough demographics that provide children with opportunities to engage with many different cultures and backgrounds. Personally, my belief of bullying/counter bullying begins in the home. In our community, the majority of parents are engaged and subsequently put the effort forth to teach their children to not bully but engage and accept children from different backgrounds and academic levels. Moreover, I believe the staff and administration reinforce policies of non-bullying.

Bullying is a serious problem at Patriot Oaks. It is not just the students, but the administration is the worst version of bullying while trying to hide behind legal reasons. My son has been a victim of the administration in the worst possible way,to the extent we have had to file a report with Child Protective Services against the Dean and how he physically handled our son in an illegal search of his body based on a false report by a “Belk” bullying student. Evidence was clear this report was false, and yet the Dean pulled my son from class with no provocation, called us, asked us for our permission to search our son (with my son on speakerphone) we denied permission, yet when he hung up, proceeded to search our son. My son ,11years old, begged for us, when he tried to resist, the Dean called the Sheriff and proceeded to conduct the search, touching my son, in front of the Sheriff. All this based on a false report by a “Belk” boy who had given false reports and bullied my son for the last year. I had to come to the school and pulled my son from Patriot Oaks that day, as well as my daughters. Saint Johns School District does not protect the children against bullying either. They support their schools and their administration. If you are looking for a good school district, a good place for your kids...do not move to Saint Johns, FLorida....and definitely not Patriot Oaks!!!!!

By far. Not enough supplemental work brought home. We moved from California and an excellent school in San Jose. My children were working above their grade levels. We had to supplement at home all year to keep them at that level and they’d were exceedingly bored in class all year, leading to problems in class.

I believe they are effective, but seriously limited by the lack of support and tools provided by the useless and pathetic administration.

They create a “CHARGER” concept, however, true integrity, compassion and respect is shown by example. We learn from our leaders, and they are definitely not leading by example. The bullies act just as the administration.

If I had a chance to change things, I would never ever have moved here. This year has hurt my children so badly. The bullying, meanness and negative environment in the school district and Saint Johns area has done damage that will take a long time to repair. Good luck.

Excellent school. We have three children attending the school, 4th, 6th, and 8th grade. Moved here at the beginning of the school year. All of them love Patriot Oaks. Challenging academically. Engaging teachers. Supportive staff. Great environment for learning.

My children have attended both Patriot Oaks Academy and nearby Liberty Pines Academy, due to a move from the Country Club neighborhood to a new development near PO two years ago. I can assure you there is a huge difference in how the schools are run and the overall atmosphere. Although I believe the principals at Patriot Oaks and Liberty Pines both micro-manage, Patriot Oaks has proven to be a far more positive experience for our family! I have found that my children come home from school happier these days and we've also found communication with teachers to be superior in comparison to our former school. In fact, there seems to be an overall atmosphere of positively here and our children are thriving because of it! Patriot Oaks and Liberty Pines may be right down the street from one another, but they're worlds apart in supplying a loving and caring environment. Patriot Oaks wins hand down in our family's opinion!

Wonderful teachers. Asst Principal Mrs Van Housten is a true asset to POA. Mr. Naavid Khatibi is the most amazing teacher in the entire school. He makes learning fun and interesting.

The school got the best passing rate in the area based on the 2014/2015 results. It offers great after school activities including 2 robotics programs. The sports may not be as established yet as other local schools, but what is the primary reason for school.

Like all our schools in Florida, they are there to provide the material and be available if the kids can't figure out the answers. Very little traditional teaching going on.

The Administration (Principal) micromanages every aspect of the school. Staff is running around afraid to make a decision. Like previous posts, if its not from or for the PTO, forget it. I agree athletics doesn't get any support, unlike all the other area schools.

School is over capacity, administration works really hard to accommodate growing demands and operates smoothly.

There is little support for out athletic department. A constant uphill battle to provide the kids with appropriate uniforms and equipment. Parents are fighting to allow sports the same equality as band, Odyssey of the Mind, and Bot team. If you have an athlete stay away.

I have to agree with the previous post. This school is lacking appreciation for any parental involvement and way to much time is spent on promoting the PTO which greatly only benefits the elementary students while middle school students & parents with aspiring athletes and community leaders are left with their hands tied due to little or no forethought on partnering and preparation for any thing other than painting charger rocks, fun runs and book fairs. C ' mon step it up leadership and get organized where is our... NJHS, Yearbook club, Fellowship for Christian Athletes, sthletics boosters or something.
