My child loves it here. There is a strong sense of inclusion and being a community. His teachers have been quick to respond to emails and have adapted well to the pandemic. Small class sizes. Would recommend.

With bullying left unaddressed and continued by a teacher despite meeting with administration. I approached this year with caution. Then being bullied by the assistant principal to apologize for addressing my concerns of separating my twins just doesnt leave me with good feelings about the way this school is ran!! Makes me sad to think what the students going to this school have to deal with!

The teachers that my children have had at this school have been both professional and compassionate. Our family has been at this school since the beginning and have been nothing but happy with the progress that our children have made.

Homework expectations are reasonable. Read every evening and usually math or science vocab practice.

We had such high hopes for this school, but all we got was disappointment. My daughter was bullied her during her third grade year. When I spoke with the teacher I was told that my daughter played her part in the matter as well. I don't know how you play your part when you're in a bathroom stall and girls open the door for everybody to see you sitting there. This year another student was bulling her and again it was my daughter's fault. There's is something serious going on when your child that used to love to learn no longer wants to go to school. During the Holiday concert I sat and watched as my daughter was on stage and getting hit in the head by a boy to the point that she looked as though she was going to cry on stage. She cried all the way home from the concert. Again nothing was done. My daughter soon began to bully the girls that had bullied her the year prior, but she was called out on it.

I submitted to the nurse a doctor's note regarding a back issue that restricted her from standing and participating in PE for long periods of time. I also notified all of my daughter's teachers when she had doctor's appointments or physical therapy. They were well aware of the situation, but somehow felt it was appropriate punishment for rocking in her chair to have her stand the entire class which is roughly an hour. It took almost a week before her back felt better. That was the last straw and I pulled her out.

My grandchildren still attend the school. Since January they have come home twice with lice. No notice went home. My daughter was told that they were a privately owned charter school and didn't need to notify the parents or even send the student home if they found that they had lice. Seriously? This is a health issue not something you can keep from parents.

The only reason Saint Cloud Prep gets one star is because zero stars isn't an option. WHAT AN INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. The school claims it's based on teaching leadership to our children but they can't teach what they don't know. And they don't have the same resources as the county schools (no library, no playground, no cafeteria, no real music program, NO COMPUTER PROGRAM, etc.). They claim their special approach to teaching and learning are worth sacrificing these opportunities but they fall so far short of their promises it's shocking. And they have a very narrow world view and extremely closed minds.

My child was recently diagnosed with ADHD. I contacted the guidance counselor about the possibility of getting a learning plan in place to support her. She strongly discouraged me from moving forward, giving me a laundry list of reasons why it would be a waste of time to bother seeking help based on her medical diagnosis.

Effective leadership begins with personal accountability and professionalism. All I experienced from the "leaders" at Saint Cloud Prep Academy was finger pointing, false accusations, blame shifting, "loss" of bullying reports, excuses as to why they don't have more/better resources, manipulation of other people's perceptions by withholding facts, and whining. The school claims to be based on teaching its students leadership skills. You cannot teach what you don't know.

Bullying is a serious problem at Saint Cloud Prep Academy. My child completed and submitted more than a dozen bullying reports against the same boy. I was told the teacher never submitted them to the assistant principal. The bullying was permitted to continue and to escalate from the beginning of the year until mid-year when we finally pulled her out of the school. My child was the FIFTH student in her class pulled out of Saint Cloud Prep Academy in the middle of the year.

When my child went up to the teacher for clarification on the in-class assignment that had been reviewed, she was told that it had already been covered. My child said, "but I don't understand." The teacher told her that it was too bad because she should have listened better.

The fourth grade class was given a 10 page packet to complete that included writing a 5 paragraph report on Henry Flagler over the Christmas break. It took my child about 30 hours over the break to complete the assignment. Six weeks after turning in the assignment the projects still hadn't been graded and returned by the teacher. When students asked her why they hadn't received them back yet, her response was that they were really big projects and she needed extra time to process them. PERHAPS TEACHERS SHOULDN'T EXPECT MORE OF NINE YEAR OLDS THAN THEY EXPECT OF THEMSELVES.
