The level of diversity on this campus is a breath of fresh air. I came from a "reputable" private school in the area and this was the best switch I wish I made sooner. My kid feels safe and I have already seen great emotional changes in their behavior and for that I am grateful. GO BULLDOGS

I got bullied so much, but haha, I still had a heck of a time. All the teachers were nice, good lunch, even better location, it was all well! And I have the friends I made there to prove it! This was my school about 6 years ago, but now I'm in 7th grade in a different school. I wish I still went here.

I have been a proud teacher at BPA Tampa for 5 years. Our staff and students have created a family who, when we cooperate, produces excellent results considering our diverse population, both in ethnicity and socioeconomic status. There have been some students and teachers who drag the culture and community down, both academically and behvaiorally. However, when we are a unified front, we really achieve some amazing things.

Looking for a school for your little to middle schooler? Well, I so would recommend BridgePridge Academy of Tampa. Both my children go there and I am so happy with the teachers, other staff on campus, along with the principal Dr. Hrris, and assistant principal Mrs. Mizzi, these two ladies go to bat for their scholars, their teachers, other staff, and best of all their parents as well. The teachers are held accountable for the way they treat, inspire, and most of all educate the scholars attending BridgePrep Academy. The scholars are also held accountable for their actions on and off-campus, their respect level for themselves and their peers/others around them. The teachers work hard during and after school, they volunteer at many of the schools' events and/or home games. The way the teachers at BridgePrep of Tampa bring their teachings to life where students are very engaged is amazing. The courage their scholars have and how well most of the scholars know and get along with one another. Their PLC side is out of this world. Their teachers there are amazing and OMG hardworking is an understatement for this school all around. The school is a non-profit school that works hard for what they started! God bless this school and every teacher, parent, and scholar that walks on the campus.

My children were transfer students in the middle of the year. Coming from a public school, they were made to feel at home as if they had been there for years! In the few months before COVID my children learned so much and were able to continue to build character with the guidance of the teachers.

I can not say enough about the leadership at this school! They work well with us parents to ensure an open line of communication is always available and do what is in the best interest of the students.
Posted: June 4, 2020
Having the Saturday sessions to help students in need is such a great plus! Teachers are so helpful in ensuring each child gets the help they need to succeed.

Zero Tolerance for bullying at this school!

I have had nothing but great things to say about Bridge Prep. Each member of their staff is always so kind and helpful. Coming into the school in the middle of the year, my middle schooler was struggling in certain areas. Starting at Bridge Prep he was able to get the assistance he needed and raised his grade! The teachers handled the COVID E-Learning amazingly! With everything going on they were able to get it started, the kids learning and entertained with the lessons and the school updated parents WEEKLY on everything going on in the county! I can not thank them enough for what they have done for my children specifically.

Homework given was never unreasonable and didn't take up a lot of time.

Teachers are amazing. They communicate extremely well regarding issues, concerns and praise! Always responding and extremely caring for their students.

Homework is best described as: whatever you didn't complete in class and/or reading for 15-45 mins every evening depending on grade level. If your child has any type of learning disability you can guarantee they will be drowning every night in homework. Due to the ineffective methods of the teachers, and their inability to appropriately manage their in-class time to include small group or one-on-one time with those specific students, homework is just class work that goes uncompleted during class hours.

I can think of only two teachers in the entire school who have a passion for what they do, and are extremely effective at their jobs. The rest are fresh graduates looking for quick work at minimal pay to gain experience. The poor administration, low pay, and lack of proper management and education to teachers greatly reflects in the high turnover rate of employment. These teachers show up for the paycheck and experience for their resumes, not the best interest of the children.

This school operates on bullying, favoritism, a huge lack of professionalism.
Posted: July 16, 2019
The principal is a every bit of the definition of a demagogue. She is extremely deceptive and fantastic at making the biggest promises/speeches to promote her power over the school. The staff beneath her are incapable of making any decisions without her consent and taking things directly to her is a waste of time. She is well aware that she operates at the mercy of a specific governing board rather than the board of Hillsborough County. The school follows several ineffective practices related to learning and administration and is held to no accountability.
Posted: July 16, 2019
This school does NOT have the appropriate means to handle children with learning differences or disabilities.
Posted: July 16, 2019
This school submits bullying reports to the principal who then calls the parent, the bully, and the bullied into a private meeting to "talk it out". At no point in time is the bully held accountable. When the bully is the teacher, the same methods are used and the principal will even throw in a long chat about her personal take on the situation and steer you in the direction of forgiveness, rather than reprimanding the teacher and following the no tolerance policy. :)

This school is a joke. The test scores, equity status, and title one status speaks for itself, the administration is a team of morons and a power fueled dictator leading the circus, and the staff is made up of a bunch of nimble, half-brained employees who clearly would rather be anywhere else but this school. The ones who stay are the ones the principal has allowed to take a higher role or has singled out as a "favorite". Turnover of students and staff speaks for itself. These people are not being asked/forced to leave... they're choosing to.

Kids never had homework. I would ask my daughter what she was doing in class and she wouldnÂ’t be able to tell me
Posted: May 20, 2019
ThereÂ’s a couple of good ones but I mostly get the impression grades are handed out and not earned.
Posted: May 20, 2019
Some of the kids here are very sweet but a lot of them are not.
Posted: May 20, 2019
They seem to be horribly disorganized. My daughterÂ’s 6th grade class was one of the only ones in the district that was unable to participate in natureÂ’s classroom.

This school caused a lot of anxiety between the teacher turnover, unorganized administrators, and unfulfilled promises to the students. The Spanish curriculum is horrible and IÂ’m convinced grades for all classes in this school are just handed out than earned. All you have to do is question the teacher about a grade and poof it becomes an A. I truly believe this will seriously hurt these kids when they go to high school or move to a different school and are expected to do actual work. In 2 years I never saw homework. Very disappointed in this school and not at all what they promised to be. I would seriously reconsider sending your child here.

Children can be mean. Administration and teachers take an active role in promoting a respectful culture. I have no insight as to any bullying at our wonderful school.
Posted: January 25, 2019
Because BridgePrep has a great online component teachers assign ELA and Math online for students to work at their own pace. This is very helpful for my child.
Posted: January 25, 2019
Passionate and love of learning is the words that come to mind. Sure no matter where you go teachers vary. But at BridgePrep we are very lucky to have such caring individuals.
Posted: January 25, 2019
Social Emotional Learning is a daily part of the my childs day. From morning meetings to lessons on how to deal with conflict respectfully. I know many adults that could benefit from these practices.
Posted: January 25, 2019
This year I have heard my child rave about administration. Firm but fair is the motto. Everyone is heard and the Administration team are exceptional and their love for our children is obvious.

We are so glad we were introduced to BridgePrep. We love it here.

At this moment I could not have chosen a better fit for my kids. They love going to school and are sad when we leave. They are happy, healthy and learning while enjoying it. What more can a parent ask for
Posted: August 11, 2018
Most homework is online, I have learned. This is why it couldnÂ’t be found in backpacks! Much more efficient this way!
Posted: August 11, 2018
My children come home happy and excited about their day! They always spit out information and it usually starts with “mommy did you know...” or “guess what I learned today?” Their data proves the teachers are doing something right!
Posted: August 11, 2018
The school has a special homeroom meeting every day to help instill different monthly character traits!
Posted: August 11, 2018
It may not always seem that way because itÂ’s hard being a leader. What works for some may not be best for all but the leaders at this school work very hard to work with you, not against you!
Posted: August 11, 2018
Again, both teachers and leaders try very hard to work with families and students to reach on their level. They will work with the student specialist or bring in a speech therapist and they are all doing what is best for the child
Posted: August 11, 2018
There are always 3 sides to the story, side a, side b and the truth and I have witnessed the staff be swift, efficient, firm and fair!

I am not a teacher. I could not answer this question without having the knowledge. I don't have children that need special education.
Posted: June 7, 2018
It was horrible regarding discipline and ethics when it comes to children's behavior. Lunch food was not good. The classrooms are over crowded with students and the teacher population changes every year.
Posted: June 7, 2018
Teachers barely assign homework to students during the school year. No homework from electives like Art, Music and Spanish
Posted: June 7, 2018
Lack of ethics when it comes to grading student's assignments. My son had an F in one of the classes and it was change to a C. I know for a fact that he did not turn in any make-up work and didn't do any extra assignments. I reprimanded him for the F by canceling a Disney vacation to teach him a lesson. The school changes his grade to a C a few days before classes ended.
Posted: June 7, 2018
There is lack of reprimand when it comes to student's discipline including bulliying.
Posted: June 7, 2018
The principal is good at calming down unhappy parents but sometimes it feels like she is only covering her back . Student safesty is not her first concern. A student kicked a chair because he was mad and the chair hitted my daughter' leg leaving a bruise. The student was not suspended. Later on I learned that this happened almost on a daily basis in my daughter's classroom.

As she is bring home her paperwork and I review it.....it is amazing to me that she is learning honesty, integrity, responsibility in a way that is understandable for a child of that age.

This is my daughter's first year attending Bridgeprep and so far the staff, the teachers have been wonderful. She looks forward everyday to attend and is in the learning mode especially the homework....it is great to be able to have her learn English and Spanish from day one. Thumbs up for the entire staff.
