This is the best middle school that we have encountered throughout our lives. I was in the military and have worked for them for the last couple decades, and because of that we have moved quite a bit and this school was one of the primary reasons that we bought the house that we school of engineering is designed to enrich the students and allow them to progress into Engineering and STEM fields when they are done with this stool and the High School that it feeds into fantastic school!

My Kids attended ELMS for three years. They are excellent top students in their class. They excelled in all areas of academia and also took part in dance and orchestra electives. Academically this school seems to hit the mark. There are a few excellent teachers who go above and beyond their roles; Mr. Schilerer and Mrs Benoit to name a few. They both made a huge impression on my kids and definitely helped them to get through their last year there.
My issue with the school was the bullying that went unchecked and teachers who looked the other way knowingly witnessing the bullying. There is ALOT of student favoritism among the faculty and staff. One teacher curved test scores for students she liked and not the others.
Not all students receive recognition for achievements unless they are part of the "in" group. ( and they are not subtle about it, which makes it more painful for the student)
Middle school is full of growing pains for the students. I feel they need to work on creating a unity for ALL students. No student should feel in the dark or afraid to raise their voice when in a uncomfortable situation. This is not an isolated issue, but an ongoing one that after inquiring from current and past students the bullying seems to be the tone of this school. Maybe it's time they listen to the kids who are not talking instead of brushing them under the rug for the others to wipe their feet on.

We are a wonderful school in a great community. The teachers are highly experienced and the administrator has created a tight-knit family between parents, teachers, students, and staff. Highly recommended.
