7 incident reports in 2 weeks!!! 8 by the time I got there to rip my daughter out on the last day. We went to the lead administrator Katie after accident #3. They are supposed to have a 3x policy. The teachers told me administration is horrible and to call DCF. I didnt want to go over board so waited to see if she would fix the situation. 4 more accidents with the same kid and I went flying into her office demanding to know what the policy was. She wouldnt give me her policy and said there is not a 3 strike rule. That the kid has been put into another class but classes merge and they would still be around each other. Are you serious!? She wouldnt give me any info on her policy and just bandaids the situation. I ripped my daughter out of there immediately and called DCF. Im not sure if this problem child is her kid or another teachers but Katie should be fired. Im sure my daughter isnt the only one. We get an email that day saying there is a new Lead administrator, but we noticed Katie just got demoted and not fired. She should be FIRED and held accountable.

Pure HELL I don't no who picks the teacher but they are dumb in the head. we had 3 teachers this year 1 of them were good. My sister got Bullied all year and they did not give a HELL about it they said they were looking into it but they really did not. I Got suspended for standing up to her bullies NEVER GO TO THIS SCHOOL!!

My two kids thrive at PCCA Palm Bay Campus. I have one in elementary and one in the Jr/Sr high. I love their curriculum, extracurricular activities and how they involve the families to make the school feel like a community. One of my children is disabled and being a military family that has been to many schools, this school has been top tier about accommodations and following their IEP. They stay on top of communication via emails/news letters and the remind app. The teachers always respond within a timely manner. The front office staff in both schools are always so welcoming and friendly. Their pick up loop is the most organized that I have ever seen, and the staff on duty always have smiles on their faces. My kids love all of the events the school has and they really make learning fun without electronics in the kids faces all day. It reminds me of how school was when I was a kid.

They got me fired from my job because I had a deadline to make for my job and would not dismiss my daughter. They basically held us hostage and got me fired because of their policy. The staff is terribly snide and I dont want me kid going here. What a joke of a school.

Terrible and petty school. They'll use the excuse of displaying unsafe behaviors that seems to be the buzz word the school uses to kick you out after they say they'll give him 2 weeks. They removed our son to save their metrics when they got the feeling we were removing our son. This school isn't worth your time and especially not worth your money. The director is not worth talking to and a giant waste of time trying. Save yourself time and money and skip this joke of a school.

This school is the worst. My son went to PCCA for 9th, 10th and about a month of 11th grade. His 10th grade year was a year of hell. The leadership in the school is horrible. They allow bullying and do nothing to stop it. My poor kid ended up in therapy as a result of this school. He was verbally abused by the principal. He was chased by security guard. He was called names by staff. He was often searched for no real reason. He never had anything in him he was not allowed to have. My son is bi-racial and I think this was a problem for the administration. The virtues they say they follow are a joke. They are not anywhere near what you would expect from a Hillsdale College. The sign that says Welcome to Mayberry is laughable.

The pick up and drop off system is rediculously a mess...they have staff outside barking different orders at parents every day that seem to change every day. But they have no clear direction posted for parents and their school policy does not address where the designated areas are. Go somewhere else.

Best school every! We adore this school and am confused by the negative reviews here. Administration is wonderful and in my experience treats every student as an individual. Obviously they are unable to make everyone 100% happy 100% of the time, but thats life. We started at PCCA the year they opened and yes, things have changed as it has grown but in those 6 years at we have only had 1 teacher who wasn't the absolute best. My experiences are based off my son who has and continually struggles with add, at this school he isn't able to use the dx as a crutch! He is held soley accountable for himself and his grades. As the grades get tougher longer being an A student because it is his responsibility to learn that grades directly reflect the effort you put in. Having the technically correct answers or being a good test taker are not enough when you half heartedly do your classwork/homework, or think you can get by with the minimum. I am confident as he grows in himself at this school his academics will come full circle because of the expectations at the lower level.

I asked if my son wanted to enroll in virtual due to covid and not agreeing with some of the protocols he says "absolutely not"! Told him before starting high school he would have a decision to make whether he wanted to continue at PCCA for the superior curriculum, education and structure or get the "typical" big high school experience from our zoned high school. Now he has over a year to make thay decision, and could change his mind as it gets closer but he was offended I would even think of him leaving the "best school ever" in his words.

No this school is not going to be for everyone, but what school is? No public, private or charter school is the right fit for everyone. Look at your child/family, how they learn, what do you want out of the school experience for your child and if you give your child a say in their education what experience do they want.

I mean my student was ahead in reading and math when we left, but that was because of my students personality and the amazing teachers. Overall I think it is a good idea, but if leadership doesn't change it's all down hill from here.

Homework can be a bit over the top in the younger grades. It's the same assignment types over and over so my student got bored. Lots of memorization.

At the elementary school there are a lot of great teachers who care about their students. At the upper school there is a huge amount of turnover in teaching staff. Teachers are inexperienced and the the ones who are experienced are either treated poorly by administration or are best friends with administration. Every year they are losing teachers.

Administration at this campus is horrible. Lack of caring for students. If you are a favorite you are treated one way and otherwise best case they don't care, worse case your student is targeted and treated unfairly. Horse and pony show whenever the owner comes to campus. Staff is also treated horrible if you are not best friends with the principal.

If you have an average or strong student then they will be fine; however, if your student struggles the curriculum does not allow for adaptations very well so your student will struggle. Teachers try, but are held back by the strict curriculum guidelines.

My experience with Pineapple Cove Classical Academy is one that has been VERY negative. As a parent, my child and family was singled out over the past year. Everything hit a boiling point with a meeting with Administration and them turning it around on me. The whole meeting turned into a homework lesson from the principal and a lecturing from her as well. John Moran has NO idea of the Administration lack of love and compassion towards their teachers and staff. He comes and goes (business man) and lets highly ineffective people give his business (PCCA) a bad representation. Replace your leaders with those that have vision and compassion or you will become another Odyssey Charter.

This area is swept under the rug and ignored most of the time. Teachers have students that swing at them and nothing is done. There have been several occurrences of teachers being swung at and the Administration just gave the student the love and ignored the feelings of the teachers.

It varies. Teachers have so much on their plates that it's difficult for them to take the time to make a student understand why they got something wrong. How is a child supposed to learn from their mistakes if no one explains the mistake.

Also, some teachers don't seem warm and welcoming as you would expect from an elementary teacher.

The administration seems to only care about their staff and parents who are highly involved. It's almost a militant approach.

Also, if your child has an IEP or 504, forget about it. It feels like it's a bother for them and will ignore it. We have seen families leave because of this. It's almost like they are trying to create a homogenized population of only high performing students. They forget they are a "charter" school and that funding comes from the citizens.

Average experience. It's a tough call considering the other schools in the area. For some, this is the best option but they lack compassion for kids. The curriculum is a little advanced, so you will have to stay on top of your kid. Good luck in your search.

Horrendous experience. Would not recommend this school to anyone. There is an obvious lack of diversity at this school. There are very few students of color and virtually no staff members of color at all. This school does not represent the socioeconomic and cultural diversity of the area whatsoever. The only concern appears to be test scores and they have filled the school with white children from middle class families to achieve that goal.

The school lacks diversity across the board but particularly in the area of staffing. There are no teachers who are POC and the curriculum reflects this as well. Some teachers are doing a great job while others have no business being in the education field at all.

The principle may have been effective when the school contained just lower grades but she is in way over her head with the addition of the middle school grades. Her approach does not take into account the specific needs of this age group.

I have 2 children in this school & both my husband & I absolutely love the teachers & administration staff. We have found the teachers to be attentive to our childrens' needs & keep us informed on their progress. The school has a wonderful program that not only provides a great academic environment but also encourages and supports good citizenship too. We are so happy that our children have the opportunity to be in this school.

We have hurdles to get over just like everybody else but the best part about this school is that they raise the bar and the kids reach it... Outstanding job to all the teachers that had to teach classical education. I have 3 scholars in PCCA and each one of them at different levels understood the work it took to get the good grades. It was a new way of learning and they met the challenge.
We have uniforms at the school which for me is a blessing I never have to worry about the latest inappropriate trends.

After touring other VPK options, I chose PCA because everyone had a smile and I loved the interaction I saw in the classroom. I feared the first day, as a SAHM, my daughter has never been in a school like setting around so many other children. I am amazed, just amazed at how my daughter grew. She loves learning, she loves her teachers and she is definitely going to miss PCA next year. When my next one enters, we are definitely enrolling in PCA's VPK5 again as we love the afternoon time and that they don't miss out on class time when joining the extra curricular activities. I feel like they miss out on some things because we don't pay extra but we fought hard for our fundraising to prove we are just as worthy. (Even if the "earn so much get this reward" items and ribbons were never received, we loved every effort we made and will do it again!)
