The new principal has really made a huge difference for the betterment of the school. He knows what the school needs and has been on top of things. Hired good teachers and staff. They've added a mental health counselor who is amazing and this had made a real impact for students and families. yes there is teacher turnover but that can be found most places.

The school is good, but it's not the best. They have a serious problem with the bathrooms. I've been told that the bathroom doors are scratched and covered in inappropriate materials. Since 4th and 5th grade are in the same area as middle school, I think it's inappropriate. A lady at the front desk is incredibly hateful. I came to volunteer, and she told me I couldn't stay inside. I had to wait outside in the hot sun for two hours to pick up my student. A complete lack of respect. That lady treated me like I was a student. I became very disenchanted with the school after having high expectations. In my opinion, I would NOT recommend this school to anyone. My children are already attending another charter school, and the environment, staff, and everyone are friendly, and my children are happy with their new school. I would NOT recommend Franklin Academy.

As a parent I used to love this Campus and was delighted when Mr. Delgado took over. He is doing an amazing job! But, the front office has been a complete disaster. Rude is just an understatement! Not only do they not answer the phones when youre trying to reach the school but in person its even worse. They have no regards for parents or students. Ive overheard how this one particular lady speaks to students and parents. She is NASTY and needs to be replaced. Her demeanor is not very welcoming and will deter a lot of people from enrolling or keeping their students in that school!

this is my daughter first year of high school and I'm very frustrate and sad with how the school authorities working on this school the teacher doesn't care the administration either.my daughter is an honor schooler all A on her classes I should be glad but not because she is not leaning anything from this teacher nothing new from this school all she know is from previous years, this year is a waste of time for her, for 8 year she attend to franklin academy in sunrise excellent school , teacher administration help all kids to success nothing compare with this franklin i hope a higher authorities from franklin academy see this email and all the other emails and take actions this school need a lot of help .

The experience we have had this year has been amazing! It is all because of the incredible teachers you have in your school. I know my child can be challenging as I have experienced the challenge first-hand. The challenge usually comes from a lack of inspiration. This year has been an exception and, again, I credit all the wonderful teachers at Franklin Academy. They have gone above and beyond and inspired my child and his classmates!! They have shown personal concern and care. They have been excellent communicators. I think most importantly, they have offered their teaching with levity, interaction, clear expectations, thorough reviews, excellent direction, and with the belief that their students can rise to the occasion.

My son is in 7th grade and has been there since 6th grade. This is a wonderful school. The campus is beautiful and clean. And the lunch is good. All the staff is very accessible. You can join all the meetings they do through the month and you can learn and see what's happening at the school. Get involved! I really recommend this school.

This school is terrible! if you don't want your child bullied they will be bullied by the principal and assistant principal terrible leadership and no compassion for students the bully the students where they are fearful to go to school.

My daughter and son have been at Franklin Academy for 5 years. I admire the principals, assistant principals, administration, faculty, and staff. As a parent and as a volunteer I strongly recommend this school. I have seen how devoted everyone is making sure the students have an outstanding education. I was surprised to read those negative reviews. I can only guess those parents werent involved and didnt have the opportunity to see it.

Franklin Academy is TERRIBLE. At least, for high school. If your care about your child learning and being prepared for college, please do not do this to him/her. Your child deserves to be prepared for the world, not to have these precious learning years mishandled and wasted by this abhorrent school that could honestly care less. Franklin Academy HS is the worst example of a charter school.

My child attended this school for 9th grade. I truly believe there are a few teachers that they hired that are not even certified in teaching. My child's geometry teacher was very inexperienced and I truly believe the school was desperate for a teacher to fill this position. My child had to turn to self-teaching and learning online because the teacher could not teach. What a horrible experience! Franklin will never have a good reputation when they hire teachers that cannot do their job. The only positive thing I have to say is that my child did love their biology , computers and history teachers and received A's in those classes. Not attending next year, I believe this school does not prepare her for college, especially when rarely assigning homework.

This was a complete nightmare. I removed my son after he learned less than one chapter of Geometry in the entire 1st quarter. He's paying for their mistakes day after day, trying to be EOC and testing ready. This place should be shut down and never allowed near children again.

Some harass and even bully students, upsetting them tampering with their confidence. My 8th grade kid went from 90% student in math to now a 60% just because the teacher got upset at my kid. Zero help from the assistant principal.

This school is a disorganized mess in terms of curriculum. Administration is inept. The email from the principal and assistant principal always contains spelling and grammatical errors. The teachers send emails that are cringe worthy as well. The majority or the teachers are not certified. The school has yet to be accredited. If given the choice, please choose your neighborhood school which is regulated by the county. As unhappy as you may be with your zoned school, it is there that your child will have a better future getting the required prerequisites for college. I was unfortunately fooled by the promises and beautiful campus.

Extremely disorganized school. Some teachers don't know how to use the different tools available to help students/parents with homework/projects. They just say. "Canvas doesn't work for me ". Is there no one at Franklin in charge of making sure all teachers have access to all resources? Teacher have no idea how to access the book online. We are in the middle of the school year and some student still have no BUS ID, which was issue to avoid fights/bullying in the BUS. Pictures were taken days before the school started. Where is the ID? Front office is always crowded with students an parents. With sometimes only one person trying to help. If you need to pick up your child earlier plan to be there 1hr or more in advance. Some time they don't even know in which class is your child. The school is more focus on the uniform than on the student academic development. Uniform can only be bought in one place (Expensive store). Shirt, pants, sweater, PE short, must be from this store only.(Absurd) The follow up for service hours is a disaster. You have to be on top of one lady that answer you weeks later if she answers. In a period of 5 month classes have change teacher at least 3 times. Unstable staff. Teachers do not put effort to make students complete their assignments in class. Teacher do not communicate anomalies unless you reach them for other matters. Teacher do not follow 504 Forms special accommodations to help students with special needs. Students do not put any effort to arrange conferences. I had much better experience and my kid had more resources access and help in the Public School. School is inconveniently located unless you live close. I would say look for other options. This school has been open for more than 3 years. Time enough for them to get organized and get all the resources necessary for every grade and provide at least the same service as a Public School but not less. Between Franklin Academy (6-12) Campus and a Public School I stay with the Public. The worst decision I have made for my kid, choosing Franklin Academy.

The leadership at this school is non-existent. Extremely disorganized in every aspect. The principal has a superiority complex, doesn't take responsiblity for her/the school's own errors. The communication is non-existent, unless you enjoy reading lengthy emails with little substance. The school does not call the parent if there is an issue with the child. There is a lot of talking and very little listening. The school is inconveniently located. The bus service is unsafe. Brought it to the administration's attention, noting was resolved. Ended up paying for a private bus service. I have been a resident of Pembroke Pines for 20 plus years and have never been disrespected by a school administrator. Her superior is not inclined to get involved or assist with a resolution. It is really sad and unfortunate for the good students who just want to learn. I could provide plenty of heart breaking examples, but the bottom line is just choose a different school for your child.

This is a challenge for any school these days. The concept of bullying changes by the second and in many cases not even visible to schools because of social media. This school has handled a big threat just recently and as a parent, I feel comfortable that they took every measure and used every resource available to the school. My child did not feel afraid and was happy to see the "show of force" so that no one else felt emboldened to try it again.

The school is still considered "new" and so they are actively hiring. Some teachers can hide their shortcomings but I listened to my child, I attended open house and I spoke up. The administration responded to my concerns and changed my child to a more appropriate teacher for her needs instantly. You must document and make your case with legitimate concerns and proof.

I havent seen much of this but at the Parent Academy they spoke about starting monthly character development projects and programs. My child does feel enormous respect for the Code of Conduct, so they must be saying something to them daily.

They are still working out a few kinks but the administration has been quick to respond, communicates with parents via text and email as things happen and has been vocal about ZERO tolerance and dismissing students. Reality is that this school is no different than any other large MS/HS campus. This is not a bubble, if that is what you were looking for, then you need to go somewhere else.

As a charter school they dont have an enormous ESE program but my child, who only has minimal learning challenges, has been properly accomodated with what she needs and assigned to teachers who understand and can work with her. You must advocate for your child and be prepared with documentation, doctors letters, IEPs or anything else that will assist the ESE team and move the process faster.

Teachers make strong efforts to complete work in class. I am new to this approach but have quickly appreciated that my child gets help from THE teacher and teachers make sure they do in fact get it done. Kids stress is significantly reduced.

They've switched teachers way to much during the year. Also, my daughter has mentioned in several occasions how difficult it's been to understand some of the teachers they hire with very thick accents.

Horrible. By far one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The guidance counselor is not reponsive, the administration make commitments and promises that they don't keep. The level of disorganization of the school and the way it is run is unbelievable. I'm working on transferring my daughter out asap. I rather have her in my local zone public school than this charter school.

Terrible. My daughter had a nightmare of a year. Teachers don't have experience. Can't teach. Multiple teachers per subject throughout the year. Sad sad sad. A totally wasted year for my daughter. She will be attending our boundary C school this upcoming year but at least the teachers there are experienced.

I would rate our experience at this school as awful. I should have never given up my spot at one of the other franklin campuses to come to this campus. They told us that there was another principal and when school opened that principal we were promised wasn't the principal. Total bait and switch. Now I am hoping and scrambling for a better situation for next school year.

Not only is there way to much teacher turn over. The teachers that do stay, stay only because they know they will never get teaching jobs elsewhere. They are horrible. My students math teacher told me when she can't figure out the lesson she googles it. My student had a spanish teacher that didn't speak a word of english and was relying on the bilingual students to translate the assignments to the non spanish speaking students.

Principal has no business being a principal. She thinks because she has her doctorate it makes her special. The Assistant Principal over student conduct is a total basket case. She walks through the cafeteria at lunch time yelling at the kids. Telling them how horrible they are. They don't address any of the serious issues in the school and instead focus on the petty things like uniform shirts being untucked. I actually listened to the Principal say, we can't allow the middle schoolers to use their cell phones in the lunch room because I still need to teach them how to eat first.

My daughter was lucky enough to connect with a couple teachers, which has been beneficial for her. Overall, the administration has not addressed the high teacher turnover rate, my daughter has had 3 geometry teachers and 2 biology teacher this year. Very disruptive. Pulling up to the school in the morning for drop off with 4 or 5 police cars in the drive way (happened on several occasions) is very concerning. Administration has not addressed these instances or notified parents of any issues to be aware of. My daughter will be attending another school next year. I do not recommend this school.

The teachers are in & out like a revolving door. Many of them have poor English & teaching skills. The administration focuses on silly rules instead of learning. They treat high school students like preschoolers and do not support the idea that they are entering adulthood. To quote the Principal "Students have no rights, they are not equal to teachers & staff". If I owned this school I would start over next year with everything & everyone new. They sell that there are a College Prep IB school but there is no an ounce of College Prep going on.

This school is an absolute disaster run by inept people. In every way from the administration to the teachers, mostly a horribly run school. Teachers and employees are quitting in disgust left and right, and there are ridiculous rules they enforce to punish the parents when it is their ineptitude that causes the problems. A few teachers are trying and do care, but with a terrible admisistration that can't run a school properly they are in a bad situation and the children and parents pay the price. Uncaring, RUDE and inept people run this school. It's a shame because it's a lovely campus. Do NOT send your child to this mess of a school!

They are too disorganized to follow IEPs. The teachers try sometimes but the school is so disorganized they can't concentrate on the needs of particular students. No guidance and absolutely no caring for the students from the administration.

A no homework policy is great if the core classes were taught effectively. The teachers that try are great, but the administration creates such disorganization that the good teachers cannot be effective. I feel bad for the good teachers at this disaster of a school.
