My son used to cry daily and beg me not to send him to school. He has many friends who's parents have told me similar stories about their children begging not to be sent here. My son attended this school from Kindergarten until the beginning of 4th grade, when I withdrew him due to the amount of issues we kept having at Midtown. His 4th grade teacher had no prior teaching experience, she was a librarian, teaching gifted 4th graders. She had at least 20 complaints from various students claiming she belittles them and taunts them with evil hearted names and tones. Despite the numerous complaints from parents, she was kept as the teacher. The staff has also called the police on multiple 4th graders, and filed police reports for simple situations that should be solved civilly and with love, these are CHILDREN IN 4TH grade. The school is unsafe, not nurturing in any way, and they do not engage with family/parents at all. The staff is all cold, mean hearted, and very spiteful.

This school has made a dramatic improvement over the old charter school. Pinellas County Schools have created a cultural arts program for the entire school and added the benefit of a full-time gifted program. The school is a great place to immerse our kids in a world of diversity.

This school now has a brand new magnet program that opened this year (2018-2019) the program is wonderful, they recruited amazing teachers. ItÂ’s a cultural arts magnet and full time gifted magnet under one roof. PTA is active, families are involved and want to see the program succeed. My child is in the gifted magnet and loves going to school every day!
