This is the most wonderful school, my children are thriving and happy here! I have one 5th grader in particular whom has hated school her entire life but not anymore. Seaside has made the biggest difference in her life and AI could not be more greatful. I have now had 4 kids attend Seaside and I could not be happier with this school. Their teachers communicate with me regularly and the entire staff acts more like a family.
The kindness, positive reinforcement and compassion my kids receive is unlike anywhere else. I have neurodivergent kiddos who need more help and understanding and this school gives the support they need without needing to be asked. Every single student gets the attention they need and the encouragement to be who they are. My children feel safe and loved instead of invisible and confused. I can't recommend this school enough!

This is my second year teaching at Seaside and I couldn't be happier. The Waldorf curriculum is married with traditional public school state standards, resulting in instruction that is filled with creativity and joy of learning. Families are so very appreciative and supportive, adding immensely to the community feel of the school. The staff supports each other and admin is always there when needed. If I still had young kiddos of my own, I would be thrilled for them to be students here at Seaside. I myself feel grateful to be a teacher at this wonderful school!

My daughter is currently in 5th grade and has attended Seaside Beaches since pre-K. We live 35 minutes away and early on made the decision to make the daily commute to a school we felt would be the right fit for our family. Weve been so happy with our choice throughout the years. Our daughter has experienced hands on learning with extras including gardening, yoga, handwork, Spanish, and school wide festivals with significant meaning. She spends significant time outside in the fresh air, goes to Hanna Park often for learning and exploration, and even in 5th grade uses art, color, stories, and creativity in lessons. She has loved all her teachers throughout the years and always felt cared for and valued. Shes consistently scored at or above state standards on testing, yet we dont spend hours of our precious family time doing homework. Every family needs to find the right school for them, Seaside has certainly been right for us and Ill forever be grateful we found this school home.

My child goes to school with excitement every day. She feels calm and confident and she receives great results on her tests. She feels like she belongs and I see myself how nice everybody is with her and our family. I am very happy that she is encouraged to create, be herself, respect and love differences, always say the truth. I could not have chosen a better school for my daughter than Seaside Charter School.

Seaside was our first choice when trying to find a school for our daughter and we were so thrilled when we found that we had won the "lottery." She attended kindergarten and is currently half-way through first grade. The school is wonderful and her teachers are excellent. Our daughter loves the school and is always excited to go to school, even after breaks. Her teacher understands her very well and keeps us involved.

This school is so special. Being Waldorf-inspired means that students spend more time outdoors, nature-based learning is promoted, along with arts and the curriculum teaches to the whole child- head, heart and hands. But the best part is the community! The families support each other and we are all like family! Regardless if it is your first day or youve been there for 8 years like us, you belong.

My two children have been there through elementary school and we have had an amazing experience. The school is tech free and very hands on. They have a lot of outside time and because it backs up to Hanna Park they get to enjoy nature and often walk over to eat lunch and play. I have had nothing but great experiences with teachers and staff. I would highly recommend this sweet little school.

Seaside Charter at the Beach has been an incredible experience for my family. I initially enrolled my oldest after pulling him from public school, and the difference was remarkable. He began thriving in ways I never thought possible, both academically and emotionally. After seeing how much he benefited from the nurturing environment, it was an easy decision to enroll my youngest there as well.
The small class sizes are truly amazing. The teachers are able to give each child the individual attention they deserve, helping them grow at their own pace while fostering a love of learning. The unique blend of Waldorf and Montessori methods encourages creativity, hands-on exploration, and a deeper connection to the world around them.
Both of my children are thriving, and I couldnt be happier with the community and education Seaside provides. The school feels like a second homewarm, supportive, and deeply invested in every students success. I highly recommend Seaside Charter to any family looking for an exceptional education. Its been a game-changer for ours!

My children have been seaside students for 7 years. We have only had positive experiences every year. My kids have a hard time deciding which teacher was their favorite because they trust and enjoy each of their teachers.
As a parent, my voice is important to the faculty and I have really appreciated how they handle difficult situations.
No school is perfect, but I would choose Seaside if I had to do it all over!

I enrolled my son at Seaside because I was looking for something different. Prior to his transfer, he was attending a highly-rated school, but it seemed like he was being drilled for standardized tests and losing his natural love for learning. To be honest, I thought Seaside sounded a little too good to be true, but it is everything, if not more than I hoped for. On an almost daily basis my son tells me excitedly about the things hes learning in school. Seaside encourages his curiosity and ensures that he has a well-rounded education that keeps him thinking, exploring, and moving. At many other schools Ive visited, there is an element of stress that seems pervasive among staff, but I havent seen that here. Everyone Ive encountered seems sincerely happy to be there each day, and I am continually grateful that we made the switch to Seaside.

Social emotional wellbeing is priority at this school creating the safety required for any learning to take place! We have 3 members of our family and several friends in the Seaside community. Our family has been at Seaside Charter Beach Campus for over 5 years, and we absolutely love it. The Waldorf-inspired approach is so different from traditional schoolsits all about child-centered learning, creativity, and connecting with nature. I truly believe this type of education is so beneficial for kids, giving them the freedom to grow and learn without being cooped up inside all day. Every single teacher and admin weve met has been so kind and welcoming. Its such a special little gem of a school, and were so thankful to be part of this amazing community!

Seaside is a warm and welcoming school. We have been there since 1st grade (2018) and are currently in 7th grade at the school. We originally chose Seaside because of the focus on outdoor time, and the integration of natural movement within the curriculum which allows small energetic bodies the peace to learn when it's time to sit still. The curriculum and instruction style is Waldorf inspired, and students are treated as whole people, not just little brains to be filled up with knowledge. Enjoying the learning experience, and interacting with subject matter in a positive way are areas of focus and I'm so pleased with the way my daughter has grown emotionally and spiritually while also progressing intellectually. Seaside, like all schools has had issues come up, but I commend the administration and board for addressing those problems head on and always continuing to improve. I especially appreciate that the teachers are well versed in Florida standards, but the students are not pressured to perform and are not drilled, it is a very organic approach to learning what is required. My daughter has been able to achieve top scores without the pressure placed at other schools. I would recommend touring if possible, it is a true bright spot in education in Jacksonville.

We switched our middle schooler here last year from the local public middle school which was treating him horribly and the students bullying him. Seaside was the best and the staff Was so supportive. He thrived.
We moved our other three ESE daughters (K and 5th) to Seaside the following year and it's been equally amazing. Super attentive and responsive ESE staff and overly communicative teachers. We love Seaside and how it feels like a family. We are letting it kids attend until they can't anymore. Thank you Seaside!!!

We love seaside beaches!
Almost everyone I've ever met here have rapidly become like family and we are so grateful for this school community we're now apart of here at seaside.
We've been thru multiple schools both public, homeschool groups, and private school. This was by far the first time we have instantly taken in love with a school that also meshed well with our needs as a family.

We came in October of last year from an extremely stressful situation in our previous country and the school accepted us with open arms, willing to learn and help us with out situation and has been nothing short of incredible since we've arrived at making us feel loved, welcome and full of community. My kids 1st and 3rd now are thriving. My 3rd grader hadn't learned to read yet coming from another language and a private Waldorf school and they have gotten him up 2 grade levels in this short time. Any time we ask for help, we've gotten it, they've been communicative when my kids get hurt and taken action when challenges arise. I love the family nights and community. The parents are wonderful as well and I love the rhythm of indoor and outdoor experiences the kids get on a daily basis.

Seaside Beaches Community Charter School is a magical place where nature and education come together to nurture the whole child. As a public charter school, its free to attend, but it goes far beyond basic state standards by integrating the Waldorf method. Children arent confined to desks all daytheyre fully engaged with hands-on learning that nurtures their minds, bodies, and hearts.
The natural setting is a highlight. Students explore the nearby Hannah nature trails and even walk to the beach to learn and connect with the environment. This unique perk of living in Florida enriches their education in ways traditional schools simply cant match.
The teachers are extensively trained in Waldorf methods and Conscious Discipline, creating a supportive and nurturing environment where kids are treated with respect and encouraged to grow into kind, capable individuals. The sense of community here is unparalleled, making the school feel like a second family.
Seaside also hosts amazing events and traditions, from the Festival of Courage to the winter spiral and lantern walk, bringing families and students together in celebration. Special Friend Day invites loved ones to visit during lunch and recess to experience the schools warmth and joy firsthand.
What truly sets Seaside apart is the happiness of the students. My kids come home excited and energized, often disappointed when the weekend arrives because they miss their friends and teachers. Theyve gained unique skills like knitting, needle felting, and yoga, alongside their academics. This balanced approach fosters creativity, confidence, and a love for learning.
Coming from homeschooling, I cant imagine a better place for my kids. While no school is perfect, Seaside handles challenges with grace and love, ensuring every child feels safe and supported. I leave every morning knowing my kids are cared for, inspired, and learning in an extraordinary environment.
If youre seeking a school that embraces the whole child, fosters community, and creates joyful learners, Seaside Beaches Community Charter School is a treasure you need to explore.

Seaside Beach is a wonderful school community for students and their families. The Principal, Vice Principal, teachers and staff are caring, knowledgeable and invested in their students experiencing Waldorf principals through a Public Charter school education. This gives students a unique experience learning which includes solid academics all leaned while being in nature/outside, through movement, and with artistic elements. The Seaside principals are incorporated in all aspects of school life for academics but also including after school activities and sports. Hanna Park is closely accessible for frequent field trips and after school clubs. Seaside Beach is a kind, caring and great all around school community for students and their families. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for community vs a school, look no further than Seaside! This school has prioritized services to my son who needs speech services. They also promote conscious discipline and school families combining different aged students to work together each month on a project. However, my absolute favorite part of Seaside is it's outdoor school vibe- lunch and recess are outside year round (dress for the weather) resulting in about 50% of time spent outdoors. We love it!

Teachers lie and the administration refuses to hold them accountable. Security cameras are all over the grounds but they refused to look at them to see where the teacher actually was when students saw her returning to the property from the parking lot. Safety is an issue. Gaslighting parents and students is an issue. First year teacher having full blown melt downs and crying/screaming in the classroom at students is an issue. Improper grading input is an issue. Teaching is an issue. If you want you child to learn, understand everyone INCLUDING adults are held accountable for their actions, that they have a voice to be heard (instead of being told their word against a teachers automatically means the student is wrong while refusing to look at the cameras that would show the truth), etc, find a different school because this one will destroy your children.

My son attended 5th to 6th grade. His 5th grade (2018-19) year was awesome. I thought we had finally found a school that tailored to the way he learns. He has a language impairment and is also gifted. He was not accommodated for his gifted abilities but that didnt bother me as much nor the lack of diversity since I loved the school, the staff and the teachers were just so welcoming of us. When he entered 6th grade (2019-20) things were very different. My son was telling me he was having difficulty keeping up with work, his ESE teacher made us feel it was a difficult chore to help him meet his goals, he started experiencing some bullying and was even made to feel bad for the color of his skin then his grades went down. As I began, to advocate and had concerns and feedback I felt resistance from the teachers and staff. I even had one teacher threaten to sue me via email about me having concerns of the way she spoke to my son in class. I was disappointed but its ok. Judging from her reaction, my son was telling the truth. I found out from another parent that in a meeting, this same teacher became irate at another parent for voicing her concerns about her student. We started to feel some of the staff/teachers were not as welcoming to us anymore. We didnt return. Please be mindful DCPS and/or charter schools are not equipped to help your students with learning disabilities with emotional and mental support. Please do not send your student to these schools in this county. The more you advocate for your student the more stressful it will become for you and your student. Ms Smith very compassionate, well educated and Mr Roberts, well educated and provided emotional support for my son were the only two teachers who seemed to really understand the students. We need more teachers like this in our schools. I appreciate them!

We have 2 children who attend this school and both have flourished at Seaside. There are too many things we love to list them all but the no media policy, gardening, parent involvement, outdoor time, focus on kindness & accountability, handwork, arts integration, and curriculum are key. Seaside understands child development and how to academically meet them where they are (age wise) even with the unrealistic/changing state mandates. Our kids have continued to test above grade level and appreciate the 1:1 help they get with the lower class sizes. While the overall school communication could be better it has improved in the last 2 years. We highly recommend this school!

Our family has been at this school for the past three years. We have had both ups and downs, but overall the experience has been extremely disappointing and emotionally exhausting. If you are a parent that likes being involved in your student's education and appreciates good communication, there is a good chance you will be very frustrated at this school. If your child is an out-of-the-box thinker or has a personality that does not match the rigid expectations of the school, there is a good chance your child will be very frustrated at this school.
Be wary of promises and information provided by the administration. During our tour, we were told a strings program was provided to all students beginning in second grade. Three years later, there is still no strings program. During our tour, I was also told parents were welcome and frequently volunteered in the classroom. This was pre-COVID, of course, but that also turned out not to be true. Instead, parents were asked to stay in the lobby for most volunteer work and were only allowed in the classroom on limited occasions. We were also told there would be no screentime at school, except for the limited amount that is required to conduct iReady diagnostics. However, I recently discovered that my daughter was offered screentime as a reward and there are now tablets in her classroom on a regular basis for reading. As far as I am aware, the school has not notified parents of the addition of tablets in the classroom.
Without question, the number one issue I have experienced personally and also hear from other parents is frustration with poor communication from the school. Weekly newsletters are provided, but are very bare bones and schoolwork is seldom sent home. Consequently, I rarely feel like I have a good understanding what my children are actually doing in school all day. For the most part, I only really hear from the school when my children are having problems. While I am glad the school notifies me when there are issues, I wish there was a stronger partnership between the parents and the school so that things wouldn't get to the point where I have to be contacted because of a problem.
There are a few fantastic teachers at this school, but it is not enough to offset the negative culture that discourages parent involvement and is dismissive of any negative feedback. Unfortunately, after three years, our family has decided it is time to cut our losses and move to another school.

If you care about your child getting a good education, take them elsewhere. This school talks a good talk but they do not hold their faculty or staff accountable to the values and standards they publish on their website. This past year I've heard (thanks to Zoom) my child's teacher getting cross with very young students and even scolding them for things beyond their control, then refuse to apologize for it. I've also seen her tell students an assignment would not be graded, only to then go and grade it. The teacher just marches on with each class never revisiting struggle points for students either in whole group, small group, or one-on-one space so students are left behind. Moreover, we get no feedback on our student's assignments, which are often given with vague instructions and no grading rubric or criteria so she continues to get docked points without knowing how to improve. If you try to ask clarifying questions about the assignments, the teacher ignores you. If you try to express your concerns to the teacher, she ignores you. If you try to take it up with the school principal, he ignores you. If you try to take it up with the principal for all Seaside schools, he ignores you. If you try to take it up with the Board liaison, she ignores. Clearly, the only culture that is strictly adhered to at this school is that if you ignore a problem long enough, it will go away... so we are, to another school next year. Save yourself the same headache!

We started here after spending 3 years in our neighborhood school. Our child had been bullied and was several years behind in reading. From our very first day here when my son said what he liked the most is that he has friends to the end of the year where he improved 200% academically Seaside has been life changing. I didn't think schools like this existed. It is kind and caring as well as extremely effective in its education policies.

There is not a lot of homework/busy work in 3rd grade which is appreciated and is supported by research. Focus is on learning in school, and playing/reading at home.

Some of the most wonderful, caring teachers I've met.

Feel very blessed to attend Seaside Charter. Only wish my older kids could have had the opportunity. One of the special aspects is the focus on being outside and playing. I think it makes such a difference regarding the students' ability to concentrate.
