My son is in kindergarten and this teachers are great, no issues at the school and hes testing well above his grade level. He loves going to school and being a dawsome kid!

I am yet another parent who lives a block from this school and had to pull my child. It is basically a daycare. I saw bright kids with parents trying to engage be hands on, that were falling behind. This school was improving a few years ago but quickly took a nose dive with the new principal. Bullying, harassment, vandalism, all just go undocumented and unpunished. My child had a brand new teacher who told us in the middle of the school year that teaching was not for her and she would be leaving at the end of the year. The next year the other brand new teacher (first year teaching) never materialized. A substitute filled in for months, a new teacher eventually started (again, brand new to teaching). By then the class was just disorganized chaos. I spent over $400 out of pocket trying to buy supplies for the various teachers, but they always disappeared by the time the new teacher was there. I bought supplies for a student enrichment event that never happened. Teachers were honest when they quit that it is a toxic environment the principal fosters that makes them leave. I feel guilty for leaving my child at this horrible school for a year and a half before pulling them.

Many parents including myself had to pull our kids from this school. The bullying is out of hand and kids are getting hurt. They do nothing about it even with proof and try to protect the bully over the hurt child. They gaslight you and treat you horribly. I pulled my child out and now my child is thriving at another school where bullying is taken seriously and not allowed. If I could give no stars I would. In the year my child was at this school many of his classmates were having the same problem and those kids were also pulled out.

We moved to FL from VA, my daughter loves Dawson, she has the best teachers and she enjoys going to school everyday!!
It is a beautiful school, staff are super nice and supportive.

My children LOVE this school!! I feel that Dawson Elementary is a good school, both of my children's teachers are top notch and are keeping us notified of progress and if there are anything we need to focus.

Great school and teachers. Not sure why greatschools.ord shows it as a 3/10. This school rocks and is better elementary school than any ones in Lithia, FL. and it is in Riverview FL.

We choiced to Dawson for the 2018-2019 school year (our daughter was in 2nd grade at the time) and couldn't be happier with our decision. Our son is currently attending ESE Pre-K there and we hope he will be accepted for kindergarten next year. We have done magnet schools, charter school, and traditional schools and we are so happy to be part of the Dawson Dragon family. The school has an amazing administration, involved PTA, dynamic and caring teachers, good gifted program, and a culture of respect. It is also a conscious discipline school. Our middle daughter receives gifted services and our youngest son receives ESE services so we have experience with everything the school has to offer. You would not be sorry to have your children attend here.
