Unfortunately the schools name is very deceptive! They claim to be a College Preparatory HS. However, I did not observe the students preperation for college by any means. In fact, I felt like the curriculum was below level at best! My son's grades were excellent... but I do not trust that it was an accurate assessment. There were so many Makeup/ Catchup days each week, that my son was able to ride his bike, watch television, and play video games during class time, and still make straight A's... SOMETHING WAS SERIOUSLY WRONG!!! I attempted to report my observations to the Director, but was told that my assessment was incorrect. The lack of respect for teachers and students was also observed by me personally! I had witnessed students using inappropriate and profane language while engaging casually in a conversation with a teacher! It is no wonder that this school's head is on the chopping block!

This is a great school! The teachers and staff genuinely care about the well-being of all students. The students are more than just a number. Tutoring is offered everyday, even on Saturday. This provides additional help for students who want more help.

The teachers focus on education and academic growth. The students are not sent home with worksheets to teach themselves. A caring culture.

The teachers are coming and going the turnover rate is crazy the teachers are nasty and rude to students until the parents come visit and then they try to play nice with the parents

Posted: January 28, 2020

This school has no morals or respect for students or parents that send the children here.

Posted: January 28, 2020

The leadership at this school is a complete and utter joke. All they care about is looking good and money.

Posted: January 28, 2020

If you have a learning disability then this is not the school for your child they do not accommodate the child's needs

Posted: January 28, 2020

This school has gone down hill. They sweep alot of things under the rug to look good to the community but the truth is there is a lot of bullying, even the staff threaten the children and get up in the child's face. The only want to recruit children for the money this school is money hungry you have to pay tuition, pay for all clubs, 20 hrs of volunteer for each child you have attending the school and must do a fundraiser. If your child have problems they are better off telling the parent and have the parent report it to the county school board and not the school because if reported to the school your child becomes a target not only to students but to the staff also. The director only cared about her looks and how the school is seen to the community. This school is like a luxury hotel on the outside but inside your child is learning in horror.

More schools should move in the direction KCC is going with the 1-1 learning environment. Students are provided with a rigorous curriculum which will help them develop the skills necessary for life after high school.

KCC Prep is an amazing school with leadership and staff who are fully committed to the well-being and educational success of every student served. I recommend KCC Charter HS to my family, friends, and anyone interested in a personalized education based on multiple intelligence learning. The Academy of Information and Technology allows students to graduate with an industry certification and provides work experience through paid internships. The rigor of the curriculum challenges all students academically and the digital 1:1 campus provides students a competitive advantage.
