Plato is a great school when it comes to academics but when I could not recommend if you are a person of color to come to this school. At my time here there have been many issues of bullying specifically towards people of color and nothing has been done about it even with staff aware of these issues. Not only has there been issues of staff ignoring students issues there have also been issues of staff themselves degrading a specific demographic of children (POC)

I wouldn’t go out of my way to say this school is racist in any way but there is clearly a bias towards the white and Hispanic kids in this school. As you get older the worse the communication gets between the school and you and your parents. While there are many opportunities open for older kids I see that middle schoolers often get there problems neglected,

Overall this is a good school academically, there are lots of opportunities to learn but not a lot to grow as your own person. I would not recommend this school if you are not white because your time will be way harder at this school since there are clear racial biases.

I love this school I have improved so much ever since I moved here. yes it’s a strict school but coming from a student here the teacher are not mean or anything there often teaching us responsibility, or how to that are actions have consequences. Most parents just can’t handle that their baby could do anything wrong and that’s ok but sometimes kids need to learn from their mistakes. I am so sad that I’m going of to high school this year but I at least I know I’ll be ready. I’ll miss you Plato.

So glad I went with Plato Academy -Tampa when it came to decoding on a school for my Kindergartener. He loved his first year there and was asking if he was coming back for 1st! Very close knit and couldn’t of asked for better communication! 100% happy with our decision!

We were so disappointed with our experience at this school. I don’t typically write reviews but wanted to warn other parents not to waste their time. The teachers are harsh and don’t seem to know what they are doing. I also heard the principle yelling at a student from the hall when I was there one day.

My kids love it here and they are thriving. If you have questions, the staff is very responsive, transparent, and inclusive. They have active extra curricular activities and great academic rigor. The student body is well mannered and there is a supportive and forward-thinking culture among them.

The contrast between this school and other schools my kids have attended is huge.

Complaining about turnover with education in its current state is hilarious. It’s an issue across every school, not just Plato.

I would also say that my experience with other schools and as a youth coach leads me to believe that the parents writing negative reviews are likely more of the problem. This school, compared to many others, is top notch. Unfortunately many parents see their child in a different light than most others. It’s unfortunate for people to think a 1 star review makes sense just because they didn’t get what they want. Education isn’t a la cart.

Would not recommend. Teachers and principal are extremely harsh and no compassion at all especially with the younger kids that are getting adjusted to going to school all day. If your child has any special needs, forget it they will black ball you and try to get you out by obsessively emailing you daily telling you how bad your child’s behavior is.
They are not equipped to work with different types of children at all!
We switch to a different school and my child is thriving and doing so well now.

Too much turnover in staff, very disruptive to students. If your child has any special needs they are not staffed even though when you tour they say they do. The ESE teacher is very green and lacks professionalism when addressing parents. If your child has ADHD and/or autism this is not the best choice for your child. If your child has an IEP or 504 they are not prompt and/or consistent to accommodate, not all the staff will be on board and implement. There is a lack of communication to parents/guardians when it comes to any academic or behavior issues, these are communicated when it is too late to make a change for the students grade for the report card. Online assignments and communication is disorganized, but I think they recognize this and trying to address it.

Too much staff turnover for us. Including a new Principal in the middle of the year and now the Vice Principal leaving. Many teachers quit at the end of this year as well.

The education is sub par at best. We are switching schools and have a lot of summer catching up to do.

This school has turned for the worse after recent administration change . They don’t care about kids well being or health . Even the new principal left . The school administration CENSORS parents in classdojo and even deletes parents comments and reviews on Facebook pages . There’s no transparency from admin . Scary how this place has turned !!! Don’t trust them for my kids education . They don’t care about your kids only about filling up all slots in classroom so they can get state money

We have been very happy here. Our children are being challenged and are learning so much. The staff is very warm and kind. Our children love it!

My child was behind in the county schools and not making enough progress to catch up with classmates. Plato gives her the support she needs to succeed. The small environment is not intimidating and she gets individual attention to address her needs. She loves the staff and teachers and is thriving here.
