Why choose KCC Southeast middle school for the 2019-2020 school year?

KCC Southeast is amidst our candidacy year for IB authorization. What does that mean? We are working towards being fully IB Authorized into the 2019-2020 school year. We have unique opportunities at KCC that include mandatory language acquisition classes all three years (Spanish) as well as our unique Design track. Students will have an opportunity to work on product design, digital design, and web design with an emphasis on engineering. We also include Culture and Leadership classes as well as Debate Design classes. Additionally, you will find more cross curricular integration seeing teachers and groups of students working together on a consistent basis. As an example, routinely our US History and MYP Math teacher will co-construct units of study as well as the work being done between our MYP Reading teacher and our Leadership class. Great things are always happening as we learn how all of our learning works together.

At KCC Southeast for the 2019-2020 school year, we are following a 4x4 block schedule. What are the benefits of this? Students spend 80 minutes with each professor. This allows for more in depth work in each subject area. This structure also helps students balance their homework load.
