If i could give this school 0 stars, OR LESS i would. My children have called this school a "prison", and after seeing how students are treated, i honestly CANNOT disagree! This school is ridiculously strict, gives students almost no freedom, barely allows them to use the bathroom EVEN when it's an emergency, assigns an excessive amount of work, hands out referrals, minor infractions, or suspensions for the most ridiculous things. My children were raised to be very respectful and i know they would never lose their respect to a teacher! And getting minor infractions for simply standing up to ask a teacher a question, get a paper towel to dry their hands, blow their nose, throw something away, or washing their hands is absolutely absurd! Almost everyday i would get a message from their teacher ESPECIALLY the art teacher telling me they had to punish my children by giving them referrals for the ridiculous things i mentioned. It got to a point where i basically had almost 6 meetings with almost all my children's teachers. Teachers here are often disorganized and unable to teach properly. They expect students to learn by looking at what's on the board, this school seriously needs better teachers. Teachers that encourage their students to come to school everyday, make them happy to be there, and actually know how to teach. While the school is constantly asking for money and donations, they barely provide fun events or activities. And when they actually did, it would be the most unexciting things ever. Horrible communication with teachers, whenever i would message my kid's teacher, they would take weeks and maybe even months for most of them to respond. And teachers set specific due dates for students to turn in their work but later grade the work almost a month after. And why are middle schoolers being given electives like art and music when they should be learning practical subjects that help them prepare for real life and their future careers? Now that middle schoolers are being given their own building, students should finally be given more freedom, a more reasonable dress code that can let children dress more expressively, and useful electives like culinary, biology, medicine, agriculture, and language classes besides Spanish, taught by teachers who are actually engaging, fun, and know how to teach. I think this upcoming year, middle schoolers should be given opportunities to explore their interests and future careers. Overall i do not recommend this school!

Since the new school year is approaching and many parents are looking for the best school for their children, I wanted to share my personal experience.

Unfortunately, middle school was not a positive experience for my daughter. Bullying was a significant issue, and we often felt that it wasnt addressed the way it should have been. She came home stressed almost every day, and no child should have to feel that way because of school. We also had some experiences with teachers who came across as unkind or disengaged, which only added to her negative experience. By the end of the year, she was genuinely relieved to be leaving.

My sons experience, however, was very different. He attended kindergarten, and his teacher was absolutely amazing. She created a fun, welcoming classroom and clearly loved what she did. She made learning exciting, and my son adored going to school because of her. She is, without a doubt, one of the best teachers at the school.

Although my son had a wonderful kindergarten year, our familys overall experience led us to decide to enroll him in a different school moving forward.

I truly believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and excited about going to school. Teachers have such an important impact on their students, and its evident when they are passionate about their work. I also hope the administration continues working to address bullying more effectively and provides stronger support for students who are struggling. Every child deserves to learn in an environment where they feel safe, valued, and respected.

This school has the worst management ever, the front desk people are passive-aggressive do not care about you child. Other than that, teachers are very nice here and there's a nice community

After trying different schools without achieving the results necessary for our daughter's education and development, we are finally impressed with the progress and achievements she has made since starting at Mater Academy Saint Cloud. The administration has always been supportive, the teachers care about the students' learning, they are all great professionals and, above all, very respectful. Furthermore, there is excellent communication and a strong relationship between the school and the parents. To date, our experience at this school has been wonderful. I just want to say, "Thank you, Mater Academy Saint Cloud!" Great school!!

My niece is in the third grade. She comes home with an excessive amount of assignmentsboth in-person and virtual. To top it all off, I don't know how they explain things in class, because I spent just 15 minutes explaining one of her assignments to her, and now she understands it perfectly. She comes home completely drained. She spends all those hours at school, only to spend even more hours on IXL, iReady, Wonders, Big Math Ideas, Brain Pop, and so ontrying to learn at home. As far as I understand it, homework is for practicing, not for teaching; that is what teachers are for. Not to mention that they charge for absolutely everything.

Mi sobrina atiende al tercer grado. Llega con demasiadas asignaciones, tanto presenciales como virtuales. Para el colmo, no se como explican, porque una de sus asignaciones, me tomo 15 minutos explicarle y ya entiende perfectamente. Llega drenada. Pasa todas esas horas en la escuela, para luego pasar mas horas en IXL, iReady, Wonders, Big Math Idea, Brain Pop, etc. e intentar aprender en la casa. Hasta donde tengo ententido, en la casa se practica, no es para enseñar, para eso se estan los maestros. Sin contar con que cobran por cualquier cosa

Ive had a really positive experience with this school and the impact its had on my two children. The teachers are caring, patient, and truly dedicated to helping each student succeed. They take the time to understand individual needs and create a supportive learning environment where kids feel comfortable and encouraged.
I especially appreciate the strong sense of community. The school does a great job involving families and keeping communication open, which makes a big difference. Both of my children have grown not only academically but also socially and emotionally, gaining confidence and building meaningful relationships.
Safety and structure are clearly a priority, and it shows in how smoothly things run day to day. While no school is perfect, Ive seen consistent effort from staff to improve and provide the best possible experience for students.
Overall, Im grateful for the positive environment and support this school provides. Its a place where children are cared for, challenged, and inspired to do their best.

This school understands the partnership between the school and parents. They are great at communicating and at involving parents in every aspect. The principal is amazing and its obvious that the kids are her top priority

This school is great! As a parent, I feel the school is highly involved with the community. They have a Parents As Liasons (PALS) meetings monthly which I wish more parents would attend, however is a great opportunity to voice our ideas and involvement with the school.

My child is reading and completing math above grade level which is a testament to the quality of education provided. Not only at an educational level, but also shaping my child on how to react to adversity. Parents play a huge roll and the support behind the school is wonderful!

I am a current student and I need to say that this school is so bad please do not attend. First off, the teachers do NOT teach at all. I have 7 periods and not one teacher teaches the class calmly and throughly. I am so used to getting yelled at everyday its so draining having to wake up at 7, arrive at 8 and get fully yelled at and most of the time its for no reason. Its so weird because when someone barely mid behaves they yell but when somebody is doing backflips on tables in the back of the class nobody does anything. It has also done a very big decrease in my academics and even overall smartness. I used to have advanced ELA, math, and science and always got 5s on my FAST. now i get 2s and Fs. The students that attend here are very non-affectionate. they have no respect, sensitivity, nothing. I wish there was something positive I could state about this school to make it look somewhat good but i honestly cannot think of ONE thing.

DO NOT put your children here. They wont disclose that none of their teachers are certified until your student is already enrolled. The teachers will yell at your children and admit to ripping things out of their hands and nothing will happen. Horrible environment for children. Atleast the public schools have guidelines they have to follow.

My daughter attends this school for the past three years. We have seen the school grow from year to year and the school still has its family feel.

I can drop my daughter off each morning knowing that the people in her school building will care for her, teach and respect her.

I transferred my son to Mater St. Cloud when he was in 5th grade, and he continued on through middle school. When he transferred to Mater from his zoned district school, I didn't realize how behind he was in his academics. The teachers really worked with him to get him caught up and ready for middle school. I also noticed my son had an easier time making friends at Mater and his anxiety about going to school decreased. As a parent I am much happier and feel more confident in the abilities of the teachers and their care for my child. I really enjoy the family events the school has and communication that is shared through Class Dojo.

Finding a school that perfectly meets a child's needs is rarely easy, but Mater Academy Saint Cloud has been a perfect fit for our son. It is incredibly convenient for our family, and we love the small class sizes. Our son started here in Kindergarten and is now in 6th grade; he loves the school as much as my husband and I do. We are very involved parents and appreciate the family-oriented environment where no child is 'just a number.' From Pre-K through 8th grade, everyone knows one another, and I believe that sense of community helps the kids thrive. Communication is excellent, the staff is awesome, and any issues are addressed immediately. Although the school is relatively new (opened in 2018), it has grown significantly and is now officially an 'A' school.

Do not go to this school, as a deeply concerned parent, I am genuinely worried about the environment my children and other children are being forced to every single day! Many of the teachers are extremely rude and disrespectful, and only some teachers actually seem like they care about student and their education, which is completely unacceptable! Students are barely allowed to go to the bathroom, often without any valid reason, and that alone shows a serious lack of basic human respect and understanding for children's needs! On top of that, favoritism is clearly shown by some teachers, with certain students being treated better than others, creating an unfair and damaging atmosphere that no child should ever have to deal with! Several teachers also teach very poorly, leaving students confused, stressed, unmotivated, and falling behind, and it is heartbreaking to watch this happen to children who deserve so much better! Some teachers give students attitude and speak to them in a rude tone, yet they always expect students to be respectful, which is completely unfair and disrespectful! The school also assigns an overwhelming amount of work, far more than what it is reasonable, leaving students exhausted, stressed, and with little time to rest or enjoy being kids! On top of all this, some teachers barely respond to messages from parents, making it extremely difficult to communicate or address concerns about students' well-being and education! The school is also way too strict and sensitive, punishing students for minor things and overreacting, which makes it a stressful and intimidating environment for children! My children have come home crying before because of how they were treated at this school, and no parent should ever have to see their children emotionally hurt because of the place meant to educate and support them! There have been many reports filed and countless complaints made to the school office by parents and students, yet nothing has changed, which is extremely frustrating and unacceptable! The school itself is very poorly funded and constantly asks for donations, always holding fundraisers and making parents contribute, while at the same time everything feels disorganized and chaotic, as if no one is properly managing anything! There are so many ongoing issues that have been ignored for far too long, proving that the administration either doesn't care or refuses to take responsibility! Overall, DO NOT send your kid here! It is very draining!

HORRIBLE SCHOOL, DO NOT GO HERE! Teachers make students cry, students are barely allowed to go to the bathroom sometimes, and the strict rules are unnecessary! Their way of teaching needs to change, make it more fun and effective for students. Students cant just learn quickly by teachers reading stuff off the board! Staff and teachers can be very rude, they sometimes never even seem happy to be there! Lots of students also struggle with mental health and some teachers never even seem to care or do anything about it! In the 2 years that my child attended Mater, ive only known 5 teachers that are actually good teachers! This school assigns way too much work! Teachers dont realize how much it can stress the students. Children shouldnt be bringing so much homework everyday, plus a test? Thats a way too cause students to have a burn out! Teachers need to change their attitude and their way of teaching, stop assigning too much work, let students have a little more freedom, let students be able to go to the bathroom, stop adding unnecessary rules, and try to care more about students mental health, because the amount of pressure they put on our kids is not helping! Overall i do not recommend this school.

My 2 kids attended this school from 2019 and were removed mid-year in 2024. This school does not offer a safe environment for its students. My 2 sons were students at Mater Academy St Cloud from 2019-2024. And these past 3 years were the worst due to the ongoing bullying. For a week, my son was hit by a peer with a pencil and ruler (minimized by the current assistant principal as ISLOLATED -in writing). Then on another year, was stabbed in the back with a pencil and threatened to be killed by another peer (police report filed) and the student was placed in another classroom. Unfortunately, thinking and trusting the administration, we unknowingly chose to continue to send our sons to Mater with the hope that they would be better and more vigilant of bullying situations. However, this year, my son was bullied again by what I can only label as scavengers. Theyd steal his lunch and snack EVERYDAY almost since the earlier part of school. When he started to say NO, theyd call him greedy for declining to share his food and making his day a horrible experience. Theyd go into his backpack and throw his personal items in the class and even try to steal his food!! It took my son 3 months to tell me this for fear of retaliation from his peers. When the school was confronted with the situation, they took over 6 days for an investigation, even after my son provided a very detailed (date/time) run of events to help minimize the time theyd need to spend on reviewing the cameras because my sons words and previous cases of being a victim of bullying were not enough to help him. Disgustingly, even the guidance counselor and the assistant principal ignored a note given by my son during their nonsense, unreliable investigation and DID NOTHING until I exposed the situation on social media. Then was when the investigation was completed with no corrective action against the students who bullied my son. It was acknowledged by the school that my son was, in fact, a victim of bullying- a major act of misconduct (per the email sent to me). The school offered my son the Hope Scholarship as a way to again brush things under the rug when all I was looking for was the safe and wellbeing of my kids and the students at the school. By that time, it was when I decided that my children would never be safe at Mater Academy St Cloud. I also emailed the Governing Board with all communications with the school and they never acknowledged my email! I would NEVER recommend this school!
