The main issue with the school is two-fold. I think it begins at home. The kids need emotional support & true guidance at home. The teachers, I think, turn a blind eye and don't demand respect & discipline because they are not supported by the parents. When I was young (I am not old by any means), kids were to speak when a hand was raised, not to curse or talk filthy while class is in progress. Seems like the majority of kids have NO moral compass or respect. I hear stories of things discussed out loud (sexual immorality literally taking place in the school, lack of self respect and self worth, etc.) and that is what constitutes "normal" behavior right now in school. Maybe kids think they are being "cool". If teachers buckled down, would not accept this behavior in their class, sent the kids to the office and held them accountable then THINGS WOULD CHANGE. Problem at the core is "parents, don't parent" so the kids are unruly, rude, disrespectful and sadly morally bankrupt. They are raising kids that are entitled. Even worse, they stand up for their kids when it is clear that the child is wrong. The parents seem to have no accountability so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. So, teachers have no support and not a leg to stand on. My child went through something this year and I will say without a question the teachers bent over backwards to give their help and support, the guidance counselor went above and beyond to help and we got through the year working together. I do think math courses like Algebra need to be taught, white board & dry eraser taught...not watch videos & almost teach yourself. That's my one gripe. The rest is more on the kids lack of respect for the teachers & themselves personally. But that starts at home from birth...Unless your son/daughter has a true mental condition their behaviors reflect the parents. I said that to my kids, "what you do reflects on me & if I was a good mom...so don't disappoint me, be good, be respectful, be the leader, be nice...don't start a fight but never let someone put their hands on you. Give a warning first, protect yourself by any means. You might get in trouble at school (but you won't get in trouble at home). Also, the school needs to give the child that started the issue blame...not suspend both because they were both involved. Someone has to start it and that one should be the one given the punishment. What is right is right and wrong is wrong...that simple.

Ive had a really positive experience at Tocoi Creek High School! The best part is definitely the peoplethe teachers are super friendly, approachable, and actually seem to care about how you're doing in class.

Im also part of the Teaching Academy, and it is easily one of the best programs here. Its so much more than just sitting at a desk; you get real, hands-on experience and a head start if you're thinking about a career in education. Between the great staff and the specialized academies, TCHS is a awesome place to be if you want to get ahead. Go Toros!

Great school with great teachers and principle. Their entire mission is to teach reading, writing, and arithmetic. It has core values of family values and really cares about their students.

Rude front desk, sarcastic counselors, ridiculous strictness and excessive discipline measures in some things while turning blind eyes to other important things, lack of respect from kids in this district that talk in class over teachers making it an awful learning enviro, some Awesome teachers, some teachers shouldn't be teaching & discourage students from pursuing an elective field of study. Frustrating and asinine one-lane car entry to parking lot. Modified schedule makes it difficult for students to return to campus for athletics on time with one lane entry.
Self-righteous and arrogant parents raising arrogant and disrespectful kids attend here. Can't win. Can't wait to be out of this school. If you have a good hearted student who wants to excel they'll have a challenging experience here to get respect and support from all staff. Newer school doesn't equate to better.

This is a beautiful high school with excellent, dedicated teacher, and employees. The high school is very good at communicating through the bullpen newsletter as well as emails and the HAC system.

The educational options at Tocoi Creek are outstanding. The academy options plus early college, as well as ample AP course options, all in our assigned zone, is a blessing. Our daughter chose the healthcare academy, and it has been a great start!

For a new school I think this high school is doing well. I think the county grew too fast and therefore they didnt build it big enough, but its been a good school for both of my kids. Last one graduates this year. There are great clubs and plenty of classes to choose from. Both of my kids have had straight As and are getting scholarships.

Since the student to teacher ratio is not high, my daughter and son get to know the teachers personally and get more involved in studies. They really love this school. They are also in varsity tennis and the coaches really help them with their trainings and have been to lots of tournaments in different schools. I really appreciate and recommend this school.

As a parent my student is not motivated at all to go to this school. We moved to this area at the beginning of his sophomore year and he does not feel like he is cared about at all by his teachers. His teachers all complain that they do not earn enough money and are looking for other work. During his first year he had two teachers that were absent a lot and the school did not have any substitutes so the students were shoved into the auditorium with other classes (without subs.) . One of his teachers was a geometry teacher who was out from October to February, no learning took place in the auditorium however the students were given state tests based on the curriculum that was supposed to be taught to them, obviously my son and others who need instruction, did not do well and his GPA has suffered because of this.
There are now over 3000 students enrolled in the school and more are added each week, classes are huge and supplies are low, the teachers have wish lists for parents to consider. The school is sinking fast.

I have had such a positive experience and the response is quick. The academics are a challenge, but in a good way. I believe that they should be challenged. The support is there as long as you seek it out. Nothing is perfect, but this is really close. We moved here from out of state and I love the program options. They don't let their students fall through the cracks. For me the transition was a lot smoother than I expected, and the staff was there every step of the way. They helped give support and options that best help my student. Everyone has their own opinions and story.

Not impressed. Kids come home and tell me horror stories of students being unruly and cussing out teachers. The bullying at this school is crazy. And I know of a Spanish teacher Karen F who teaches by humiliation and encourages humiliation in front of the class which results in threats and bullying to the kids. Not okay. Not impressed. At all.
