IDEA Bassett is the worst school I have ever been to. To have the audacity to call themselves a "college prep" school while offering absolutely NO highschool courses AND letting in all students at random is the dumbest concept ever. As a 9th grader, my three years at IDEA had me feeling unprepared for HIGHSCHOOL, let alone COLLEGE. Going to this school is my biggest regret, and I so badly wish I could've chosen a different school to spend 6th to 8th grade in. I wish I had gone to a school that prioritized QUALITY over QUANTITY. They let in any and every kid, even those who had failed grades and failed important assessments. Then, the teachers and staff would put so much pressure on us, telling us to make the school into an "A school"– which is practically impossible with a bunch of kids who can barely read and write. As a college prep school, surrounding ALL students with peers of an excellent academic skill level is absolutely important. But no, when I went to this school, I was surrounded with incompetent students who were unmotivated. I felt smart at this school, but I now realize that I was just average. My grades were just excellent in comparison to my peers who didn't try and had no understanding. I wish this school prioritized the school environment. So many trouble makers who always cause distractions and start fights were rarely expelled, even though it was promised by our Dean and principal. Maybe if students weren't overwhelmed with so much drama, they'd be more excited to learn. Maybe then highschool courses could've been introduced. Maybe then this school would be an "A school" as it would like to be. For any parents considering sending their kid to this school, do NOT. This is the absolute worst thing you can do for your child. This isn't a college prep school. The kids here are NOT well behaved.

This school does not care about the students, especially bullying they tolerate it and allow it I had my son go to school with a recording device and you can heart the kids following him to the bathrooms and threatening him and kicking the doors, and all you hear is the teachers say get your hands off each other but actually nothing else done I pulled my kid out DO NOT send your kid here.
