I am extremely happy with Bayside. Every high school has its challenges especially with over 2200 students. I think the subject options are excellent. It allows students to focus on a subject or career path that they are interested in. The numerous options are excellent. I feel overall they do a good job. My son is very happy there.

Teacher guilty of bullying student. Students hair was lit on fire. Administration was alerted to a foreseeable event and took no action. Your kids are not safe at Bayside High School. Do not recommend this school. 1 star so I can write this review but honestly they deserve negative stars on their review.

My son is currently attending and is enrolled in the collegiate program. He is a part of the Encore program and his friends are enrolled in the Beta program. The teachers and staff go above and beyond for the students. The principal is an amazing leader and encourages, as well as , disciplines as needed. My son has been here 2 years and is going to be a junior. Nothing but praise for this school.

The academics are dropping at the school and teachers are leaving (like BETA). No longer an A school.

I currently attend here and it's excellent. There are very few teachers I've ever gotten complaints about from my friends. Many people here are absolutely pleasant. The staff (even the janitors) are extremely friendly. The only person I've ever met with a disgusting attitude is the dean, and she's like that with all the students sadly. Everyone else though is friendly. I even felt comfortable enough to speak to my guidance counselor when I had problems because of the intimate relationship they allow you to have with them. Also, there's such a wide variety of opportunities for you to choose from. There's culinary, the PCA program (medical), Beta Tech, BETA Engineering, Encore (Performing Arts), and there's so much more. There's even opportunities where you can get to take college classes, which I am currently enrolled in. This year they even introduced Power Hour which allows you a whole hour of free time to do what you have to do. You can eat lunch, participate in clubs, catch up with homework, and more! I absolutely love and am proud that I am a Bayside Bear.

Free thinking is destroyed. Get ready to have your child become a amorphous blob who does not understand how to process information. I went to private school until fresman year then I came to bayside. IT LOOKED AND FELT LIKE PRISION! Teacher run their classrooms based on emotion and states curriculum, you do the math. A handful of teachers needs to leave to school so it can become a complete cesspool of authoritarianism and so called opinion based knowledge. They train you to not question their answers even when they are incorrect. The moto for the school is, " if you never pass 1 test or quiz and do all your homework you will pass my class". After hearing that from everyone of my teachers I knew that they were just training people to not understand, but just to complete task without cognitive ascension and to lull me into acting as if I was at a Ford plant working the assembly line. Homework was repetative and pointless, teachers noted what pages for us to find the answers. Unfortunately if you want you child to become a better individual avoid this school and others like it.
