Theres no school nurse and my kid with diabetes does not feel safe. They really need someone well trained to look after kids with this type of disease not the school secretary. Please, fix it!

This school has no lesson plans for the entire year. It is NOT accredited, state standards implemented whenever they feel like it. There is no consistent curriculum of form of structure for the learning. The environment is unsafe for students and adults. The Principal allows bullying all throughout the school from teachers to students there are no policies or procedures that take place for any form of correction or resolution to problems. Teachers are allowed to bully others and the Principal does absolutely nothing but cover it all up. Would not recommend this school to anyone. They need leadership with integrity, ethical accountability, and honest character and sorry it is just not at this school.

We have been absolutely blown away by how outstanding this school has been for our daughter! All the teachers we have encountered have been encouraging, supportive and strive for greatness for their students! Mrs Madala (1st grade) and Ms. Marsh (guidance counselor) have been saviors for my daughter. The constant support and communication has really helped foster such a positive experience. I am looking forward to many more fun and creative years at Global Arts!

My child is currently in first grade at GLA. This school year has been nothing but positive and filled with all things good. We are greeted every morning with warm smiles and waves, communication with the teachers daily and seeing the principal during Caroline pickup and drop off was huge. This has proven that she too is greatly involved in the success of the school. Not only was our childs teacher above our expectations, but the front office staff, elective teachers and the guardian. My child has excelled in just one school year in every subject. We believe its due to the environment the school provides as well the level of professionalism working the school. I cant Say enough positive things about this school.

Im very happy with our experience at Global Leadership Academy Arts. My kids have been thriving hereboth academically and socially. One of the things I appreciate most is how safe and welcoming the environment feels. I have peace of mind knowing my children are well cared for every day.
The school does an excellent job of keeping parents involved. There are frequent events that bring families together and help build a strong school community. From fun nights to educational programs, theres always something happening.
Communication is another strong point. The staff and teachers are responsive, clear, and proactive in keeping us informed about our kids' progress and school activities.
Overall, were really pleased and feel lucky to be part of such a supportive and caring school.

We love Global Arts! My daughter attended a similarly styled charter school in San Diego, but we love the addition of the arts program here!
I will say that she would most likely thrive in any school environment because of her flexibility and outgoing nature, BUT all staff and teachers that Ive encountered in our short time there have been welcoming and kind to our family. Safety feels paramount when we are on campus.
The communication is great, and we love the opportunity to do things outside of regular school hours. This is only year 1, so we know that itll only get better from here.
For those on the fence: this school does not operate like a normal public school thats why we love it! The smaller learning environment provides a more personalized experience for our kids - they are not just a number here.
I recommend this school to anyone that wants to try something new, or has a child interested in the arts- this is a great start to enhancing your childs creative foundation.
Thank you, Global Arts!

As a first year school, Global Arts is succeeding at a pace and rate that anyone would find impressive and its continued success is assured largely due to the administration and staff, who are outstanding. It's not surprising that the more obvious challenges lie in the academics and faculty, who are undoubtedly having to adjust to an altogether different experience than they had prior to this school. Some of the less effective and troublesome aspects of the academic shortcomings of DCPS are being carried forward by the teachers and my hope is that time will help them shrug off the perceived pressure to have kids showing results on tests--at the expense of actually teaching content in an enriching and meaningful way. This is not to say the preferred ways of teaching subject matter are not happening; rather, it's uneven and resembles what we would see in regular, mid-to-low graded DCPS schools that fixate on the high stakes standardized testing rather than striking a balance between testing and teaching for meaning. The proof is the emphasis on assessments and collecting evidence of student completion of work(sheets) and relative lack of teacher-made and teacher-designed lessons and materials. Again, this is symptomatic of a complicated and difficult situation in our public schools in this region, so it's not surprising. With time, I hope that the administration can bring the teachers around to a new and better perspective, trusting themselves to be the architects of the curriculum at Global Arts, and following the lead of the arts teachers!

This is our first year at Global Leadership Academy-Arts and we could not be more thrilled. My daughter has excelled both academically and social emotionally. We had originally planned to let her attend for one year and then move her to our local neighborhood school, but she is so happy that we have already reenrolled for the next school year. In addition to academic growth, it has been so exciting to watch her explore her passion for the arts. She would not have had the theater, dance, or music opportunities that she has been afforded at any other public school and especially not at such a young age. We are grateful!

The teachers are great. My daughter who is in 3rd grade loves the art programs especially art with Ms Marie and dance with Ms. Norton. Although it's an art school, language arts, science and mathematics are not neglected. Mrs. Gilliam and Mrs. Lewis are very supportive and my daughter enjoys their class.
One of the great things about this school is being exposed to and being made aware of other art related opportunities/activities within the Jacksonville community where auditions are onsite and accessible. I and looking forward to another great year here.

Global ARTS is an incredible school! My daughter is excited about going to school each day and loves her classes and teachers. While Arts may be the focus, academics are also prioritized. The WHOLE student is developed. The atmosphere is that of a family where the students lie at the center.
