Weve had a great experience in our time here at Pine Trail. We encountered some bullying issues at one point last year but the administrators were very quick to respond, fix the problem and ensure that our child felt safe and comfortable. Overall, I feel that most of the teachers here are truly dedicated to their students.
This year there is a new principal that came from another Volusia county school. He seems like a good fit and we are looking forward to seeing all the positive new changes to help Pine Trail be an even better school than it already is!

My youngest daughter has been here since Kindergarten and is now going into 3rd grade. The staff members are great and overall the curriculum seems challenging and keeps her engaged and motivated. We have had a couple issues but it is student related and you really cannot get away from that sort of thing. Aside from that we have had a very positive experience here and would definitely recommend the school.

My daughter transferred here from a D rated school (zoning). It may be because we were used to the other one and feel "spoiled" in a sense, but PTE is great. The teacher and staff are always friendly and accommodating with concerns. Any type of incident that happens is addressed right away (you know kids). They communicate well, and really push the students creativity and independence, its been great to see the difference in my child's self esteem and how much she has grown with proper, challenging education. I am glad we moved to a better zoned area and I think it was the best decision I could have made for her future. I always recommend PTE to friends.

Both of my children have gone to PTE and we have loved it. We had trouble with one teacher, but the majority of the teachers are amazing! If you bring concerns to the Principal after trying to communicate them to a teacher, she is very unbiased in her review.

There is no consistency, some classes have a lot of homework, others have little to no homework.

When I moved here 5 years ago, this school was supposedly the bomb. I now have 2 kids enrolled, and the positive is that there are some fantastic teachers here. So this average rating is not based on them. However, the admin, as mentioned by others, leaves a lot to be desired. The latest implementation is increased security. This is good in theory, but is being perceived by many parents as poorly executed. We have to check in just to walk our kids to class. The wait line in the office is very long. And it's quite easy to be late because you are waiting for a pass to walk your child(ren) to class. And to boot, the parking is awful. Especially lately now that they are blocking off many of the spaces as "unsafe". Overall, this school could improve in several ways. I will say the PTA does a good job with what they are working with.

So sad to see how this school has changed under the current administration. At one time Pine Trail was a school I was proud to say my children were at, now it's a joke. Many gifted teachers are not qualified to teach gifted. It's all about who knows who.

gifted program what a crock teachers need to be split up wake up school board just what do they teach hanging up charts to make the children feel bad for all to see keeping snacks from them for punishment oh yea principal gives a fifty thousand gift for her hubbys re election something smells. i give them - 5 stars get off your chairs and switch these clowns and give the school a better name

My kid goes to this school and we like the teacher. But what raised red alarm is the reviews on here. Out of 8 reviews posted in 2012, 6 of them are from teachers. And all this is after the principal posted her own in April. If you go back further you realized it was not like this, when posts were mainly from parents. If the principal does want to improve the public image of the school, go out and work on real issues, instead of the asking employees to paint the glory on the web. Let the parents to say for themselves.

Pine Trail has been a part of my life for over fifteen years. From day one, I was enamored by the school, teachers, and students. To work here is truly a joy! Everything from the "neighborhood" feel of the school to the state of the art technology offered, Pine Trail is - by far - the best elementary school in this area. I'm happy to be a part of such a wonderful school surrounded by encouraging administrators and bright students.

Pine Trail is an amazing organization. The administration is tremendously supportive of staff, students, and parents. The sense of pride at this school makes it an honor to be part of the most talented teaching staff in Volusia County! I LOVE coming to work everyday!!

I have been a part of the Pine Trail family as a parent and teacher for the past twenty-three years and it has always been a big part of my life as well as my family's. The administration, faculty, staff and students have been and continue to be the very best! I am so fortunate to be a part of this amazing community of adults and students.

Pine Trail is an excellent school. My 3 children attended the school and received a superior education. The teachers are caring and work many extra hours to deliver high quality education. I love all the technology that is being used by many of the teachers and students. The students learn about life skills and it carries through when they graduate from Pine Trail. Love the positive atmosphere created by all of the staff.

Pine Trail Elementary is an outstanding school. The teachers are number one and care about each and every child. Pine Trail is very much into technology which will help my child in the real world. I've researched many schools in this area before choosing Pine Trail and I know that Pine Trail is the best for my child. The PTA is very strong and supportive.

Pine Trail Elementary is an outstanding school filled with high quality and caring teachers. As the principal, it is a pleasure to come to work every day and spend time with the most polite, smart, and kind boys and girls! :) We also have wonderful staff who help us educate our children and the B EST parents ever! Our PTA is active and helps our teachers and the school purchase the latest technology. I LOVE our school and you will, too!

Hooray for the new administration for creating an environment for students with high standards and expectations. The school environment has been brought into the 21st century. The students are being prepared to live in a diverse and global society. Congratulations administration, facutly and staff:)

I wish we could give NO STARS! We pulled our Children out of that school...The new principal and VP believe in a parent-less environment they have created a prison like setting!

Our experience has been so horrific at this school I can't even check one star. We had a child who was being bullied and was attacked at school. No one called us to alert us and they kept her at an after school activity. When I arrived to pick her up, she was standing on the sidelines crying with a swollen arm. The vice principal , nurse and teacher were all aware of what occurred. The attacker's parent was not alerted until a police officer arrived to investigate after we filed a report the ext day. Down right disgusting behavior by several adults!

Three years and counting....My daughter loves going to PTE! She has progressed a lot! Even if it means a higher rent of the house we currently occupy, we never seek for other home... just to stay inside PTE's school zone.
